Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: You're Here, Too?

The next day,

A black Maybach, custom-fitted with enhanced bulletproofing, roared down the road. It was surrounded by an escort of other luxury cars, protecting it in the center.

Advanced Nurturing High School was an institution dedicated to cultivating elite talent.

Any student who successfully graduated was guaranteed their ideal job with a one hundred percent success rate. The school also offered an extreme amount of freedom.

Inside the car, Mochi lay obediently in Katsuragi Ren's arms, enjoying her master's gentle pets. She occasionally flicked her soft tail against the hand that was scratching her chin.

Ren ignored the cat's affectionate gestures for the moment. He was focused on reading the public information and general profile of the school. Even before setting foot on campus, he was already trying to figure out its true purpose.

One grade divided into four classes: A, B, C, and D. Does that correspond to superior, average, below average, and inferior?

A one hundred percent employment rate, and this class system... tsk. Only the top students get job opportunities, while the other three classes are just fodder.

That must be it. Those at the bottom struggle to climb up, while those at the top must defend their thrones. How cruel. It's a system where you either get stronger and devour others, or you get devoured yourself.

"Young Master, here is the data on all the students and teachers at this school, including this year's new students. The Master asked me to give it to you."

Roberta, who sat beside Ren acting as both bodyguard and maid, saw him put down the school brochure. She pulled a much more detailed file from a folder and offered it to him.

Katsuragi Ren didn't take it. He pushed the stack of papers back toward Roberta.

"If I knew everything already, wouldn't that be boring?"

After saying this, he adjusted his position to get more comfortable, allowing Mochi to curl up completely in his lap. He then took the black eye mask Roberta handed him and began to rest.

"Wake me when we get there."

...

Inside a public bus,

"I truly am perfect."

Kōenji Rokusuke, dressed in the deep red school uniform, sat lazily in a priority seat. He held a small mirror, admiring himself and adjusting his well-kept golden hair.

"Hello, excuse me. Could you please give your seat to this elderly woman?" an ill-timed voice interrupted Kōenji's self-admiration.

A girl with short, brownish hair, wearing the same uniform, was putting her hands together in a pleading gesture. She was trying to guilt-trip him.

"No, I cannot, Virgin girl," Kōenji said, refusing to be pressured and retorting sharply.

Many other people were sitting, yet this girl had targeted him first. It was obvious she saw him in a "priority seat" and wanted to use the situation to make a good impression on the people around them.

Even if he did give up the seat, the others would just think it was something he was supposed to do, not a genuine act of kindness. Kōenji found her little trick amusing.

Unfortunately for her, he wasn't falling for it.

"Oh... I'm sorry to bother you. I'll go ask someone else."

Kikyou Kushida's expression stiffened. She hadn't expected Kōenji to be so blunt. After all, she was a beautiful girl making a request.

How dare you refuse me? You're not even supposed to be in that seat!

She hadn't expected him to play so unfairly. To maintain her friendly image, she couldn't force him to move. She could only turn her pleading gaze to the other passengers.

"Please, would you be able to give your seat to this grandmother?" Kushida flashed a cute expression again, moving on to her next lucky target after quickly hiding a flash of annoyance.

The woman in an office uniform sitting in front of Kōenji was not as shameless as he was. At Kushida's request, she forced a smile and got up to give the elderly woman her seat.

The bus was filled mostly with students in the same uniform. Many of them had been watching the scene with cold indifference. When someone finally gave up a seat, they let out a quiet sigh of relief.

They were all adults here; no one was better than anyone else. Why would they willingly give up their own comfort?

But unlike Kōenji, they couldn't refuse so shamelessly. They could only secretly pray that Kushida wouldn't approach them next.

How uninteresting and annoying. Not beautiful at all.

Kōenji saw the expressions on everyone's faces and began to doubt his decision.

Was coming to this so-called school of elites the right choice? He was bored. Everything felt boring, and a normal school couldn't hold his interest. He had heard that ordinary people couldn't survive here.

Did that not imply that everyone at the school was a genius?

Surely no ordinary person would be foolish enough to come here just to be humiliated. But looking at the situation now... was he wrong?

Whatever. I can't be bothered to think about it. I am Kōenji Rokusuke, the golden lion of the Kōenji family.

The bus slammed to a halt before reaching the stop, not far from the school gate. The doors opened automatically.

"What's going on? We're not there yet."

Some of the students grumbled but reluctantly got off the bus. As they stepped outside, they saw a fleet of luxury cars, the kind you usually only see online, blocking the school entrance.

"Young Master, we've arrived," Roberta said softly, waking Ren from his light nap.

"Mm."

Ren woke instantly. He stretched comfortably and stepped out of the car, holding Mochi in his arms as Roberta held the door.

With their escort mission complete, the bodyguards drove the luxury cars away. Soon, only the single Maybach remained.

Now, the scene at the school gate was clear.

A young man holding a cat stepped gracefully out of the car. Standing straight by the door, Roberta bowed slightly, carefully placing a hand over the top of the doorframe as if to protect her master from bumping his head.

"Alright, you can go back now. You too, Mochi."

Ren gently flicked the little clingy cat in his arms and handed her to Roberta. He gave a nod, then turned and walked toward the school without looking back.

"Yes, Young Master."

Holding Mochi, who was still looking back at Ren reluctantly, Roberta elegantly lifted her skirt with her other hand and watched her master depart.

The students who had been watching the scene, stunned, finally erupted into conversation now that the main character had left.

"What was that? A young master like that is going to the same school as me?"

"His red eyes are so beautiful. I'm in love."

"He must be a new student, too. I hope he's in my class. I'll have the perfect chance."

They didn't care if they knew each other; they were all students at the same school and instantly started chatting.

All his previous doubts vanished. A smile spread across Kōenji Rokusuke's face, and a fire named "fighting spirit" lit up in his eyes.

"So you're here, too, Dragon of the Katsuragi family."
