"HE WENT WHERE?" a voice shouted, filled with shock and confusion.
"My men and I saw him enter the Jackal Chief's building," a young man responded, his face filled with dread.
"How could this be?" the boss shouted, banging the wooden table before him as he rose to his feet.
"Did he have any dealings with the Jackal Chief?" he asked urgently.
The young man shook his head slowly. He was as confused as everyone else in the room.
Their target's behavior truly confused them. More importantly, why had the Jackal Chief allowed him to enter his building?
It was an open secret that humans were not allowed in the inner part of the town without special permission.
Most humans who had dared to venture there before had been fed to the Sand Hounds without mercy.
Yet their target had done it so easily.
This was the most puzzling part of the entire situation.
"I need to talk with the Jackal Chief," the boss muttered, his expression turning ugly with concern.
