The voice from the throne was calm, even pleasant. Yet, it made the temperature in the room drop by several degrees and the guards at the door suddenly became very interested in the swirling pattern on the marble walls.
"Quarantine their entire family," Isla continued. "Even the distant relatives who live in the countryside and have no idea what their third cousin twice removed has been doing. Take away the children and women, separate the rest of the men."
"Execute the people who react to the letters. Eradicate all sources of corruption in all the coastline cities." She concluded.
"Yes, Your Majesty." Chief Justice Suna bowed, the decree clutched in her hand like a trophy. Her smile signaled relief and satisfaction.
"I believe in you, Your Honor." Isla's voice softened.
"I will not disappoint you, Your Majesty!" Suna's grin widened, but the solemnity and loyalty in her eyes burned brighter than any expression of joy.
