Aurora woke the following morning to the rhythmic sound of rain tapping gently against the hides covering the entrance of Reis's cave.
The steady drizzle had continued throughout the night, filling the entire cliffs with the fresh scent of damp earth and wildflowers. Warmth lingered beneath the thick fox pelts where she and Reis had slept, but her mind had already begun organizing the countless things she wanted to accomplish before leaving the Fox Tribe.
She had originally planned to stay here for ten days, and she had already spent three days preparing for and celebrating the bonding ceremony. It had passed in what felt like the blink of an eye. That left only seven days before she would have to continue her journey toward the Snow Lion tribe.
Seven days wasn't nearly enough to teach everything she wanted, which meant she needed to focus on something capable of changing the Fox Tribe for generations rather than simply making their daily lives a little easier.
