Shine On
A large crowd had gathered outside the headquarters of Shine On, one of the top companies in the city. Reporters filled the entrance, cameras flashing nonstop.
A line of black cars arrived. As the door opened, a well-dressed middle-aged man stepped out.
Reporter: "President Li! Is the new CEO arriving today?"
President Li Chu Hua: "Yes. He is here with us."
Reporter: "May we know who he is?"
Another car door opened, and a young, handsome man stepped out—calm, sharp, and confident.
President Li Chu Hua: "This is Jawlong, our new CEO."
Reporters rushed toward him with questions, but Jawlong simply nodded once and walked into the building.
Inside the meeting room
All the major shareholders took their seats.
President Li Chu Hua: "Let us welcome our new CEO, Jawlong."
Everyone applauded politely. The meeting continued for some time before ending smoothly.
In the President's Office
Jawlong entered.
Jawlong Hua (Prince Long Hua): "Father, I'm not sure I can handle the entire company yet."
President Li Chu Hua (Jade Emperor Donghua) smiled and patted his shoulder. "Don't worry, my son. You will do well. I trust you completely."
Jawlong Hua: "Yes, Father… I will work hard. I won't disappoint you. When is Mother returning?"
President Li Chu Hua: "She'll be back within the week. She's finishing business in Beijing."
Just then, the secretary knocked and entered.
Secretary Lin Shan (Attendant Shuiton Shan): "Your High— sorry, Mr. Jawlong… someone is waiting to see you."
Jawlong Hua: "I'll go now, Father."
Jawlong walked to his office, where someone was already seated.
Jawlong Hua: "Mr. Ah Kum, it's been a long time. Please, have a seat."
Mr. Ah Kum (Chief God Hei Ping): "I'm well. And congratulations, Jawlong."
Jawlong Hua: "Thank you. What brings you here today?"
Mr. Ah Kum: "I came to deliver an invitation. We would like you to be the chief guest at our upcoming ceremony."
He handed over an elegant invitation card.
Jawlong Hua: "Thank you. I'll make sure to attend."
Mr. Ah Kum: "Good. I'll take my leave now."
He smiled warmly and left the room.
A Few Days Later
Tianjin University of Technology – Graduation Ceremony 2021
The auditorium was filled with graduates and families.
Host Yu Chan: "I, Yu Chan, this year President of Tianjin University, welcome you all to the 2021 Graduation Ceremony. Please welcome our Chairman, Mr. Ah Kum!"
Thunderous applause.
"And now, let us welcome our Chief Guest, Mr. Jawlong Hua, CEO of Shine On!"
The hall erupted with applause again. Jawlong stepped onto the stage, congratulated the students, handed out degrees, and gave a short but inspiring speech. After the ceremony ended, he stepped off the stage… and suddenly froze. He had spotted someone—someone familiar. Someone he hadn't seen in a very, very long time.
He took a step forward, ready to follow— But Mr. Ah Kum approached him with more questions.
Jawlong replied politely, but when he finally turned around to look again…
That person was gone.
