they heard knocking from the other side as well as a man's voice " Alright you have reached your destination! Now everyone Out! " When Riyu first stepped out of that cramped carriage she breathed in air freely and sighed heavily "I never knew I'd miss the smell of fresh air this much " she said happily.
Eki whispers " no time to relax now were here " she pointed to the two huge double red doors in front of them. They had beautiful gold patterns encrusted into them making them look very expensive.
In the entrance a woman along with two guards were inspecting the girls. " make sure no one has something, they're not supposed to have". The woman commanded she looked to be in her mid 30s and wore a long light blue and white dress her hair was styled in a low bun and helled up with two silver hair pins. She looked graceful Riyu though to herself.
After the inspection. All of the servant girls were required to stand in rows and listen to the rules and regulations of the inner court, the woman stood at a slightly elevated area
"My name is Yin hua , and I am the head of the female officials. From now on you do not know anyone outside of the inner Court," as she was saying all of this Riyu's mind was already wandering.
When suddenly Yin hua says " you will be divided into various divisions." She went on and on about various divisions and during the sorting process Riyu and Eki were both tasked to the laundry decision
As well as all the other girls, Riyu looked like she could pop like a balloon from the way she was biting her tongue to hold back her words .
After a long day of scrubbing someone's sweaty robe, it was time to go to their shared chambers " you have got to be kidding me! I would rather be beheaded than wash someone's dirty garments. But here we are " she said in a quick hushed tone, Eki " Calm down girl, you look like you're about to pop a vein"
Riyu slowly turned to her, she looked damn near ready to rip her face off. Eki sighed "c'mon, don't be like that... Seriously you're creeping me out, you'll get used to it eventually.
Riyu took a deep breath maybe you're right.
And just like that a month passed by, and despite all the educate classes Riyu still hadn't changed.
That evening she had finished her work early so she decided to explore a certain part of the inner Court that had been neglected. according to the older maids, that place was off limits.
But Riyu couldn't care less. She wanted to see the wild flowers that grew over time since an opportunity to study new plants and herb's like this was so worth it
