"If you ask me, I doubt the Leaf was completely destroyed. The next scene might show Naruto rushing back from Mount Myoboku to save the village."
Kushina's heart swelled with hope at Minato's words.

[Hashirama Senju: Madara! Looks like I might not need your resurrection plan after all!]

[Naruto stood on Gamakichi's head, carrying a large scroll on his back. Behind him sat the elder toad, Fukasaku, cross-legged.]
Konoha's remaining shinobi and civilians erupted with cheers.
"Naruto's back to save us! He looks so cool!"
"But the village is already destroyed… we're probably already dead. What's the point of him coming now?"
"He couldn't come sooner — because Danzo killed the toad in charge of communication. It's all Danzo's fault!"
"Naruto, go! Defeat Pain!"
