Chapter 2 — Gambling With Luck

After school ended, Rei casually said,

"Yo, Ayanokoji. Here, my number."

Ayanokoji nodded. "Thanks."

System: +50 points for being the first to give Ayanokoji your number.

Rei smirked.

Just for a number? Easy points.

Ayanokoji headed off, and Rei walked back to his dorm, already planning his next move.

---

Time to Become Rich

Rei changed into casual clothes — black hoodie, simple jeans — and headed straight for the mall.

Then finally… to the Casino.

As soon as he stepped inside, he saw students everywhere:

some buying coin after coin

some tapping on machines desperately

some crying because they had just lost all their points

Rei smirked.

Aventurine's luck is always active. Time to test it.

He walked to the counter.

"One coin," Rei said.

The cashier blinked. "Sir, if you want to win big, you should buy more—"

"One is enough."

Rei flicked the coin and walked to the spin machine. He inserted it, pulled the lever…

JACKPOT.

Coins exploded out of the machine.

Rei didn't even react — just a small smirk.

Someone nearby stared at him in disbelief. Rei glanced over.

It was Chie Hoshinomiya, Class B's teacher — looking pale, exhausted, and broke after losing all her coins.

She looked at him… then at the jackpot… then back at her empty hands.

Rei picked up all the coins and headed toward roulette.

But then—

A soft hand grabbed his wrist.

Rei looked back.

Chie Hoshinomiya smiled sweetly.

"Well~? What can this teacher do for a handsome boy like you?"

Rei raised an eyebrow. "Depends. What do you want?"

She leaned in closer.

"I'm in… total debt. Exactly zero points. So how about this:"

She held out five chips — her last five.

"You add these to your bet. If we win, you give me half… and I'll support you the whole time."

Rei smirked.

"Like a woman supporting her man?"

Chie blushed lightly. "Fufu… aren't you bold? But I'm a little old for you."

Rei grinned.

"You introduce me to Ichinose. A date. And I'll make you a millionaire."

Chie's eyes widened.

"Deal."

Without hesitation, Rei slid an arm around her waist and pulled her closer.

"O-Oh my…" her cheeks flushed bright red.

"You're even bolder than I expected."

"I know," Rei whispered near her ear.

"Go ahead and fall for me."

Chie giggled softly.

"Charming too… fine. I'll support you all night."

With his arm around her waist and her hand resting on his chest, the two walked confidently toward the roulette table.

Rei Yukishiro was about to show the casino what Aventurine's luck truly meant.

Rei sat down at the roulette table and dropped all of his chips on one spot:

Black 26.

The entire table went silent.

Students nearby turned their heads, shocked.

But they didn't say anything — because behind Rei stood Chie Hoshinomiya, her hand gently resting on his chest like she was calming or guiding him.

She leaned close to his ear, voice soft.

"Rei… do you think we'll win?"

Rei didn't answer directly.

Instead… he pulled her lightly, and she lost balance—

—falling right onto his lap.

Chie froze for half a second, blushing hard, but Rei simply whispered:

"Just watch."

The ball spun.

Everyone leaned forward.

Chie tightened her hold on Rei's hoodie, nervous.

The ball clicked, bounced, slowed…

26.

Black.

The dealer almost choked.

The entire section exploded with noise.

Chie gasped, eyes sparkling.

Then, without thinking, she threw her arms around Rei's neck and hugged him tightly.

"We won! We really won!"

Before she realized it, she gave him quick, excited kisses on the cheek — a burst of emotion she couldn't control.

Rei blinked.

Even I didn't expect kisses… but this reward is nice.

The students around them stood frozen, jaws dropped. A teacher hugging a student? Kissing him out of excitement? Nobody knew what to say.

So Rei calmly took out two chips each and handed them to the shocked students.

"Quiet."

They nodded instantly, pocketing the chips and leaving with big smiles.

Chie was still holding onto Rei, face red but excited.

Rei smirked and said,

"Looks like tonight is going to be fun."

Chie hugged him again, softer this time.

"Yes… we're going to enjoy this whole night, Rei."

With luck on his side, the chips stacked high, and a blushing teacher on his lap,

Rei Yukishiro had officially become the casino's new legend.

-----

Rei slowly opened his eyes.

A soft morning light filled the room, and the first thing he noticed was that he was shirtless, lying on a bed that wasn't his.

He blinked, confused for a second.

…What happened last night?

And then the memories returned.

The casino.

The insane winnings — more than 15 million points.

Chie hugging him, pulling him close.

Celebration turning into drinks…

And then the night going far further than Rei had expected.

Rei sat up, smirking.

So this is where the night ended.

Next to him, wrapped in a blanket, Chie Hoshinomiya stirred awake.

Her eyes met his — then widened — and her entire face turned red.

"R-Rei… good morning…"

She suddenly threw her arms around him, burying her head into his chest.

"I… I really loved last night," she whispered with a shy but happy smile.

Rei tapped her chin and said,

"Good. I enjoyed it too."

She looked up at him, eyes shining.

"…Master."

Rei's smirk widened.

So she really accepted it.

"Want to continue?" he teased.

Chie's face turned bright red, but she nodded with a tiny whisper.

"Be like yesterday…"

Three hours later,

Rei came out of the shower, fully dressed and refreshed.

He walked into the small apartment kitchen and saw Chie wearing an apron, humming happily as she cooked.

She turned the moment she sensed him.

"Master."

Rei leaned on the doorway, amused.

"What are you making?"

Chie gave him a warm smile — a smile that held trust, comfort, and something deeper.

"Breakfast. I wanted to make something special… for you."

Rei walked closer and gently patted her head.

Chie closed her eyes, leaning into his touch like it was natural.

She's completely tamed now, Rei thought.

Not forced.

Not pressured.

Simply… willingly devoted.

Chie picked up the plate, walked over, and sat down on his lap, feeding him directly with her chopsticks.

"Say ah~"

Rei took the bite, raised an eyebrow.

"…I like this."

Chie blushed deeply and whispered:

"Thank you, master."

Rei smirked.

His life was getting more interesting by the day.

Rei walked out of Chie's apartment, fully refreshed, uniform perfect, confidence overflowing.

He didn't rush.

He didn't jog.

He didn't even speed-walk.

Students around him were sprinting toward the building.

Late, late, late!

Rei watched them run with a lazy smirk.

Why should I run? Aventurine's luck is always active. The world will bend for me.

He continued strolling at a calm pace, hands in his pockets, enjoying the morning breeze.

By the time he reached the classroom door, he could hear whispers inside:

"Two minutes left!"

"Hurry!"

"Oh no, we're gonna be late!"

Rei pushed the door open—

DING—DONG.

The bell rang the exact second his foot touched the classroom floor.

Students froze.

Ayanokoji, who had been silently observing the room, blinked once and turned to him.

"Good morning, Rei."

Rei smirked.

"Good morning, Ayanokoji."

Ayanokoji tilted his head slightly.

"The bell was supposed to ring five minutes early today," he said. "But it rang late for the first time since I joined this school."

Rei sat down in his chair, crossing his legs casually.

"I see," he said calmly.

But inside, he was laughing.

My luck really broke the schedule of the entire school. Not bad.

He leaned back, folding his arms behind his head as if everything that happened was completely normal.

Ayanokoji kept watching him for a moment—longer than usual.

Rei met his gaze with a lazy smirk.

"I guess the bell just likes me."

Ayanokoji didn't reply, but for the first time, Rei felt like he sensed curiosity from him.

That was dangerous.

And entertaining.

Rei closed his eyes, pretending to relax, when the classroom door slid open.

Sae Chabashira walked in.

Her heels clicked against the floor with precision, and the entire class instantly went silent.

Rei opened one eye.

Here comes the strict queen.

Sae's gaze swept across the students—firm, cold, unreadable—until her eyes landed on Rei for a fraction of a second.

Rei didn't miss the way she paused.

Ah, she noticed something different.

Maybe his increased charm.

Maybe his confidence.

Or maybe his slightly improved figure from the healing factor.

But she noticed.

Sae looked away almost instantly and began class.

"Sit. We're starting."

Rei smirked again.

Day's just getting interesting.

After class, Rei's phone buzzed.

A message from Chie Hoshinomiya appeared:

"Master, when do you want the date with Ichinose?"

Rei smirked and typed back:

"How about this weekend?"

Chie replied instantly:

"As you wish, master."

Rei grinned. Good girl.

He put his phone down just as Ayanokoji spoke.

"What are your plans after school?"

Before Rei could answer, Horikita's sharp voice cut through:

"Rei Yukishiro. I'd like to talk to you alone for a moment."

Ayanokoji glanced between the two and raised an eyebrow.

Rei smirked. "Sure thing."

Ayanokoji nodded. "I'll take my leave then. See you around, Rei."

Rei just gave a short nod.

---

The Cafe Bet

Rei turned to Horikita.

"So… you want to talk with me. How about a café?"

Horikita shook her head. "No. People could hear us."

Rei's smirk widened. "Don't worry. When we arrive, it'll be empty."

Horikita's eyes narrowed. "Not possible."

Rei tilted his head. "Why not come and see?"

She scoffed. "You really think a café would be empty at that hour?"

Rei's grin widened. "How about a bet?

If the café is not empty, I'll listen to whatever you say and do it."

Horikita raised an eyebrow. "And if it is empty?"

Rei shrugged. "I'll tell you later."

Horikita sighed. "Fine… but I choose the café."

"Okay," Rei said. "Bet."

Perfect. Aventurine luck never loses, he thought.

---

The two walked toward Horikita's chosen café, known to be crowded at all hours.

When they arrived, Horikita froze.

The café was empty — only staff moving quietly behind the counter.

Rei leaned casually against the doorframe.

"Told you."

Horikita's eyes narrowed.

"How… how did you know it would be empty?"

Rei smirked. "I just… know."

She shook her head and stepped inside, taking a seat at a table.

Rei followed, sitting across from her.

"What if it gets busy while we talk?" she asked, skeptical.

Rei smirked. "It won't happen."

A staff member arrived to take their orders.

Horikita ordered a black coffee.

Rei ordered a cold coffee.

---

The Bet Begins

"So… what do you want to talk about?" Rei asked.

Horikita leaned forward slightly, her eyes sharp.

"I want you to make Class D reach Class A."

System: +500 points for Horikita not asking Ayanokoji to help the class.

Rei leaned back, smirking. "Why should I? I've already helped the class… revealing the system would give you all an unfair advantage."

Horikita's gaze sharpened.

"Listen. If you don't want to lead, I will. You just follow orders."

Rei shook his head. "Not at all."

He smirked, leaning forward slightly. "Since I won the bet… I get to choose what I get from you."

Horikita's eyes widened. "Go ahead. What is it?"

Rei's smirk deepened. "A kiss… on my lips."

Horikita almost choked. "No way!"

"Why not?" Rei asked innocently.

"You're just a pervert!" she snapped.

"I put myself in the bet," Rei said smoothly. "I won. You have to match me. Just a kiss. That's it."

Horikita groaned. "You're impossible!"

Rei leaned back, still smiling.

"How about this? Two kisses daily for three years, and I help you reach Class A. I know you don't care about anyone else… but to prove yourself to your brother."

Horikita froze. "How do you even know about my brother?"

Rei smirked. "He's famous. Of course I can find out. And, after all, you two share the same surname. Anyone could figure it out."

Horikita's face darkened. "Don't you dare tell anyone."

Rei shrugged, smirking.

"What is there to tell?"

Horikita got up abruptly and left the café, still fuming.

Rei sat back, a satisfied smirk on his face.

I've got you for sure, he thought.

Rei paid and stepped out of the café, glancing around casually.

He wasn't in a rush. After all, Aventurine's luck always seemed to keep things under control.

As he walked, he accidentally bumped into someone, causing them to lose balance.

Rei's reflexes were fast — he caught the person before they fell.

He looked up and froze slightly.

It was Ichinose.

Her cheeks flushed slightly as she straightened herself.

"Th-thank you… and sorry for bumping into you."

Rei smirked lightly.

"Don't worry about it."

She smiled nervously, and they shook hands.

Ichinose's eyes widened slightly.

"Are… are you Rei Yukishiro?"

Rei tilted his head.

"How do you know about me?"

"I… my homeroom teacher called me after class today," Ichinose admitted, "and was talking about you the whole time."

Rei's smirk grew.

Chie is doing a good job…

"She said you're very good-looking," Ichinose continued, "and that you give great advice."

Rei waved a hand dismissively.

"I'm just… so-so."

Ichinose giggled softly.

"You're also ranked number one in the school's 'Most Handsome Boys' website."

Rei raised an eyebrow.

"Really? I didn't even know that was public."

Ichinose showed him the page.

"See? You're incredibly popular."

Rei's smirk widened.

"Wow… never released? I'm more popular than I thought."

They talked a little longer, laughing and exchanging thoughts.

"I… you're a great person, Rei-kun," Ichinose said sincerely.

Rei leaned closer slightly, smirking.

"And you… are the special one, Ichinose."

Ichinose shook her head, blushing lightly.

"I'm not special…"

Rei straightened, raising a hand.

"I've taken too much of your time. I should get going."

Ichinose hesitated for a moment.

"Hope we talk again…"

Rei smiled warmly.

"How about we exchange phone numbers? That way, we can talk whenever you feel like it."

Ichinose's cheeks turned pink, but she nodded.

"Um… sure."

Rei handed her his number with a confident grin.

"See you around, Ichinose."

With that, they went their separate ways.

Rei walked home, smirking to himself.

Once inside, he flopped onto his bed, satisfied.

Another point earned… and another connection secured.
