Chapter 12 - Soul

The other two teams fought to recapture the data processing center and the communications control room.

Daniel, who has the strongest combat power, was also not idle.

He led a team of five players: ILoveTau, OneHand, WrongHammer , Turtle, and BaldCustodian.

Their goal is to take back control of the command center.

That's where the captain and his staff are located.

It is also the brain of the entire battleship.

If the Emperor's Glory's subsystems are still functioning, the entire ship's condition can be seen there.

Daniel's level is not much different from that of the players.

But the blessing of the Living Saint, coupled with the fact that he has more skills than the players, makes his combat power far surpass that of the players.

Under his leadership, the team's advancement speed can be described as exaggerated.

~Boom!

~Boom!

~Boom!

In front of the grand gate of the command hall, a large number of mutants were wandering around.

Gunshots rang out, and the mutants' heads exploded one after another.

They tried to rush over, but ILoveTau and the others cooperated well.

Use crossfire to shoot them down.

After a while, the battle was over.

There was a pile of corpses lying in front of the gate.

Everyone breathed a sigh of relief, thinking the battle was over.

At this moment, a mutant rushed out from the next room.

It opened its bloody mouth, revealing its sharp fangs, and lunged towards Daniel with a roar.

Daniel looked calm. He was no longer the rookie who got weak in the knees at the sight of mutants.

He swung the engineer shovel and hit the opponent's head accurately.

The terrifying force made the mutant fly up, and then fell heavily into the distance.

The mutant wanted to get up, but ILoveTau and others raised their guns and shot it into a hornet's nest.

Daniel walked to the front door, entered the password on the controller, and opened the explosion-proof door.

"Get ready for battle, it might be a tough one." ILoveTau shouted.

The door slowly opened, and everyone raised their guns, ready for a fierce battle.

But there were no enemies inside, only corpses everywhere.

The command hall is very grand.

Several huge columns support the heavy dome.

Most of the stacked workbenches have been damaged.

Internal parts were torn out, and the exposed cables crackled and flashed with electric light.

There were no mutants in the hall, only corpses scattered everywhere.

Most of the corpses still retain their human form.

The head and torso were covered with wounds from lasers and explosives.

Apparently, these people were executed before they were fully converted.

"They're all dead." ILoveTau's eyes widened. "What happened?"

"You have to ask the Emperor this question." The wrist man shrugged.

"You are simply not loyal enough. You always want to ask the Emperor everything. Can't you just be more courageous and figure it out for yourselves?"

While complaining, WrongHammer held the laser gun and looked around for the enemy.

"I didn't expect that this ship still had unenlightened souls."

A hoarse voice echoed in the flickering hall.

The players' nerves instantly tensed up, and they all pointed their guns at the location where the sound came from.

A man in a marine uniform, with a bolter and power sword slung from his waist, stepped out of the darkness.

The man's face looked hideous and terrifying, as if cursed.

One eye seemed to have melted and solidified, with flesh and blood stuck together.

The other eye was replaced by a scarlet electronic prosthetic eye.

Two data cables extended from the eye sockets and were implanted in the back of the head.

The man grinned, revealing his long tongue, and looked at Daniel and his group with unfriendly eyes.

"A Boss?"

"There are bolt guns, power swords, and protective armor. It's definitely a big boss, and also a small boss."

"Guys, here comes the opportunity to make a fortune, we must seize it."

"Contribution points, they are all contribution points, mobile contribution points, living experience points."

The players' voices were just a chaotic cacophony to the man's ears.

It was like the devil's eerie whispers, completely incomprehensible.

He frowned, then said, "Pray to me, poor fellow."

"I am Pascal Hahnemann, captain of this battleship."

"Sorry, we will not betray the Emperor." Daniel shook his head.

"Chaos is the final destination."

"I don't think so." Daniel raised his gun, "Fire, kill this traitor!"

The players who received the order opened fire in unison.

The Chaos Captain displayed incredible speed and resilience.

It dodged most of the bullets.

A small part of it fell on its body but failed to cause fatal damage.

It then raises its bolter and shoots at the player.

~Boom!

~Boom!

Wherever the bomb landed, debris flew everywhere.

"Is the grenade launcher so powerful?"

WrongHammer hid under a workbench and didn't dare to look up.

One explosive bomb could blow his head off.

After firing a few shots, ILoveTau retracted his head and said, "From the Warp Demons with supernatural powers to the Tau who prioritize physical technology.

There's nothing that can't be solved with a single explosive bomb. If there is, use two."

"In Warhammer, explosives are powerful. As long as the explosives are fired well, the daemonic aliens can't escape."

WrongHammer rolled his eyes. "You're full of jingles. You want to apply to study political science?"

"I want to take the exam, but the key is that I can't pass the political review." ILoveTau smiled.

"Take my laser, Chaos lackey."

The bald donkey shouted as he tried to shoot the Chaos Captain in the head.

Seeing the other party turn his head and point the gun at him, he hurriedly hid behind a pillar.

~Boom!

~Boom!

The bombs landed on the columns.

Explosions continued, causing debris to fly everywhere.

The bald donkey hid behind the pillar and trembled.

Daniel seized the opportunity and rushed out from the side with an engineer shovel in hand.

The Chaos Captain wields a power sword.

The blade covered with pitch-black electric arcs is extremely sharp.

The engineer shovel was cut off at the first collision.

The red and hot incision radiates a scorching heat.

I saw the other party turning the gun around, ready to let me take a bullet.

Daniel hurriedly activated the skill **Emperor's Light**.

A burst of golden light caused the Chaos Captain to scream and stumble back.

Daniel snatched the opponent's power sword and activated the skill **Purification** to expel the chaotic force.

The dancing arcs turned from pitch black to dazzlingly bright.

He flipped the blade and thrust it forward, easily piercing the Chaos Captain's body.

It howled in agony and staggered to its knees.

Daniel originally wanted to chop off the opponent's head with one sword.

But he saw that the evil light in Pascal Hahnemann's eyes had disappeared.

Instead, there were tears and pain.

Daniel stopped.

Pascal Hahnemann's voice was filled with pain. "I tried to stop it, I killed them, but I myself became corrupted."

"I was a coward. I succumbed to the evil power of Chaos. I failed the Emperor and broke the oath I swore."

"Give me some mercy, please, and let this all end."

Daniel sighed softly, and his voice became gentle.

"No! Captain Pascal Hahnemann, you have not failed the Emperor. He is proud of you, simply because you have given your all and given your all."

Pascal Hahnemann's painful heart found some comfort.

He held the grenade launcher in front of Daniel with both hands.

"This is a relic from my family. I hope it can provide you with some help."

"Now, please, have mercy on me. My soul is tainted, and only death can free me."

Pascal Hahnemann looked up at the power sword surrounded by arcs of electricity in Daniel's hand with a look of longing.

Daniel nodded, he gripped the power sword tightly and raised it slowly.

"Loyal Imperial warrior, Captain Pascal Hahnemann, the Emperor has witnessed your exploits and courage, the Emperor has witnessed your perseverance and loyalty."

"In the name of the Emperor, I grant you mercy. In the name of the Emperor, I grant you forgiveness. May your soul rest in the throne."

The blade fell.

Pascal Hahnemann gave a relieved smile.

His lips moved and he uttered the last words.

"For the Emperor, for Mankind."

"Why do I feel so sad for no reason?!" ILoveTau's eyes became moist as he watched this scene.

"The loyal die by betrayal, the pious die by corruption. This is a Warhammer specialty that must be experienced."

WrongHammer leaned over and picked up Pascal Hahnemann's head, which had fallen to the side.

Place it next to the headless corpse.

"Pascal Hahnemann did well enough. It is unrealistic to expect mortals to remain sane and loyal when facing the Warp."

"Another loyal day for humanity," said the BaldCustodian.

Daniel expelled the chaotic power from the grenade launcher, hung it around his waist, and then walked towards the control console.

Most of the workbenches are broken, but some are still usable.

Daniel restarted the operating system and enabled those facilities that were still working.

The machinery hummed and the projection flickered into shape.

Each system performed self-checks, and accompanied by frequent prompt sounds, some workbenches resumed normal operation.

**Warning: Engine disabled**

**Warning: Divination Array has been paralyzed**

**Warning: Energy stack feedback abnormality**

**warn:**

**.**

Dense red prompts appeared, showing Daniel and others how bad the situation of the Imperial Glory was.

It needs a major overhaul before it can be put back into use.

**Received a call for help from Planet Atomal, do you want to open it?**

Daniel noticed this hint.

He opened the message for help on the operating interface.

Let's see what's going on!
