Chapter 1 - Prologue: The Nameless Star

Earthly name: [REDACTED]

Date 01/01/[REDACTED]

At the stroke of midnight, a meteor shower swept across the night sky - silent, shimmering and wholly unseen.

No astronomer on a frosted rooftop saw the streaks of light.

No observatory lens caught their passing

No stargazer scribbled anything into their journals.

It appeared to elude human recognition, as though this sight was only for one.

Below, standing on a dimly lit street, a young man, freshly eighteen looked up. His eyes moved as if drawn to the phenomenon.

He felt the shift

The town around him remained unchanged—same stone walls, same winter fog, same distant hooves on old roads—

yet something essential had moved.

He didn't understand it.

He simply knew.

Then the unraveling began.

His breath faltered, seeing his reflection on a nearby window. His face had blurred, not like fog on glass but as if the shape of his face had forgotten how to hold itself together.

Familiar memories flickered:

Faces of friends, family, teachers.

His mind reached for them

and found only silhouettes, as if the ink of his past had begun to run.

Handwritten records in town halls grew faint, the ink thinning until letters became pale ghosts.

School registers lost his entries.

Church documents—a baptism, a census note, a scribbled footnote—

faded as though time had decided he did not belong to history.

But he remembered.

He remembered his own name, etched into the core of himself. [Redacted]. The first chosen. The one who could not be forgotten by his own mind, even as the world erased him.

Then came the voice, a voice that felt both alien yet comforting.

It didn't travel through the air.

It didn't echo from earth or sky.

It unfolded inside him—vast, ancient, steady—

a voice that felt older than the stars it claimed to command.

"You are the first.

You are now called ████ ███."
