I gasped as my eyes flew open.
My hand rushed to my side where the knife had stabbed me, but there was no blood.
No pain.

My body went cold as Sofia's voice echoed in my head.
She had called me a fake.
In front of everyone.
She had said my real name.
She had called me Allvira Gibson.
In front of Kaldric.
Tears burned my eyes as fear settled deep in my chest.
What should I do now?
I can't be exposed. I can't lose everything. I can't lose Kaldric.
The moment I climbed off the bed, the door opened and Kaldric walked in.
His clothes were already changed into a normal t-shirt and trousers, and his gaze on me felt different.
It felt as if he was analyzing me from head to toe, and I have no idea what I would do if Kaldric were to believe the words of Sofia.
I need to act normal, not guilty.
