Chapter 4 - Ch 4 - The bear and the bug.

Chapter 4: The bear and the bug.

David had grasped fairly quickly that the vision-changing effect was likely just him focusing Ki on his eyes, looking through it like a fog. Despite the fact that he doubted following it would lead to many benefits, it was the only notable Ki he had managed to manifest, despite how small it was.

Feeling a small rush from the thought of training Ki, David repeated the process of coating his eyes in Ki several times - slowly at first then quickly climbing in proficiency. Aswell, the blurriness cleared up as his Ki became more stable with the option - and yet, he was met fairly quickly with disappointment. No matter how hard he tried, this was a false version of Ki sense at best. His vision was impaired with it, he could sense basically nothing but his own energy, and it really did basically nothing but help him slightly grasp his energy.

Almost getting enraged at his useless effort, he stood up, huffing a breath in then out.

'Isnt this supposed to be easier!? Where's the Kamehameha, Spirit ball even!?'

Whilst David huffed and puffed about basically the equivalent of slicing a piece of butter with a butter knife and expecting to be a master swordsman - sudden a loud snarl grew into the cave, along with the pound of heavy paws and claws - David's attention was immediately drawn to the bear? Well whatever it was, it was green and vaguely bearlike, so it's a bear. The bear growled and snarled, as it had long realized it's abode was intruded - by a weird bug nonetheless. Of course, it fully intended to defend it's home.

Despite the sudden threat, David only mildly felt disturbed by the bear. Of course, David was Cell! Even in his imperfect state, Cell could kill entire cities, probably obliterate them too! A mere bear would be nothing!

David slowly sauntered towards the Bear, the two dynamically approaching each other - painting an almost bizarre picture.

Once David was in arms reach of the bear, he spoke gaudily despite the bear being well.. an animal.

"Dare to touch me and you're courting death!"

Saying a line he'd always wanted to say, David mockingly stared at the bear - that proceeded to smack David backwards, ragdolling him across the ground. First caught by shock, then fear - David thought to himself.

'Isnt this a bear!? What bear could one shot cell!'

Despite taking a clean hit, and the bear itself slowly walking towards David - he realized, despite the gash on his chest from the Bear's claws.. it didn't really hurt that much. Although embarrassing to think about, David's own incompetence was causing this. David never really fought in his life, and when the bear smacked him, he had no preparation or thought to absorb the shock - he just let the bear smack right into him, causing him to crumple easily.

Panicking almost, David began to scramble to get up- the Bear getting closer and closer, intending to finish the apparently weak David off. As he pushed against the ground to slowly get up, David backed up with a rush -

'Ah, I can't die here!'
