Chapter 36 - 36

In the monitoring room, Tony Stark watched the two violent maniacs on the screen, ready to fight at any moment, feeling his temples throbbing.

One was filled with rage, with only the word "smash" left in his mind.

The other feared nothing, his face brimming with the excitement of "come hit me!"

Let them fight in New York City?

Tony knew with certainty that tomorrow Stark Tower would transform from a New York landmark into New York's largest ruin park.

His heart was bleeding; that was all money!

"Tin Man! Can you handle this or not?"

In the underground testing ground, Tel-Rol's impatient shouts came up again.

"If you don't get him out of here, I'll tear down him and your broken building together!"

Tony flinched.

He believed it; that madman would absolutely do it.

"f.r.i.d.a.y.!" Tony shouted into the air, a sudden idea striking him.

"Immediately find me the largest, most spacious, and most uninhabited place globally! It needs to be barren!"

"Searching, sir."

"Locked on: Nevada, Black Rock Desert. Uninhabited, vast area, meets your 'barren' requirement."

"Good! That's the one!"

Tony immediately opened the intercom system, his voice echoing throughout the underground testing ground.

"Hey! Big, flashy guy!"

Tel-Rol looked up, raising an eyebrow at the monitor.

"Listen, if you want to fight, that's fine, but not here."

"See that green fatty across from you? He's very angry right now, extremely angry."

"Take him to the location I sent you. There, you can fight however you want, fight until the end of time, and no one will bother you!"

No sooner had Tony finished speaking.

A desert map appeared on Tel-Rol's personal terminal.

Tel-Rol glanced at the map, then at the Hulk across from him, who was on the verge of exploding with rage, emitting green steam all over his body.

He grinned.

That smile made even Natasha in the monitoring room feel a chill down her spine.

"Good idea."

Tel-Rol gave a thumbs-up to the monitor.

"Tin Man, you're quite a player."

With that, he turned around, beckoned to the Hulk with a finger, a mischievous expression on his face.

"Hey, Green Giant, no, Green Turtle."

"Come chase me."

"If you catch me, I'll let you hehehe..."

"Roar!!!"

Hulk's sanity completely snapped the moment the words "Green Turtle" left Tel-Rol's mouth.

He abandoned all tactics, pushed off with his legs, and, like a cannonball leaving its barrel, charged towards Tel-Rol.

Tel-Rol chuckled, his body transforming into an afterimage, instantly soaring into the sky.

He didn't take the elevator, nor did he use the hole Hulk had smashed.

Instead, he directly crashed through the ceiling.

"Boom!"

He drilled upwards like an auger, from a hundred floors underground, directly through the roof of Avengers Tower, flying into the sky above New York.

"Roar!"

Hulk followed closely, also using the most brutal method, tracing Tel-Rol's path, rushing upwards.

"Thump! Thump! Thump!"

The entire Stark Tower was like it had been impaled from bottom to top by a giant shit-stirring stick.

The building shook wildly, and glass curtain walls rained down.

In the monitoring room, Tony Stark watched helplessly as the green progress bar representing the building's structural integrity rapidly turned red.

He clutched his chest.

"f.r.i.d.a.y...."

"Sir, I'm here."

"Where's my quick-acting heart medicine?"

"Sir, you don't have heart disease. However, according to my simulation, your blood pressure has surged to 220/140. I recommend immediate physical cooling."

The citizens of New York City certainly got an eyeful today.

They first saw a dark figure burst out from the top of Stark Tower.

Immediately after, a massive green figure also crashed out, following suit.

The dark figure flew ahead, turning back to throw white energy orbs as he flew.

"Pew!"

"Can't hit me, aren't you mad?"

"Pew! Pew!"

"You big oaf, come on!"

The green figure pursued relentlessly, and wherever he went, skyscrapers suffered, and streets cracked.

He couldn't fly, so he could only leap between buildings.

Each leap caused damage to the wall of a building.

Each landing meant a section of road needed repair.

"Roar!"

Hulk grabbed a roadside bus and threw it with all his might towards Tel-Rol in the sky.

Tel-Rol didn't even look back, simply throwing another energy orb.

"Boom!"

The bus exploded into a huge fireworks display in mid-air.

In the monitoring room, Tony Stark watched the screen expressionlessly.

"f.r.i.d.a.y.."

"Sir?"

"Whose account should that bus be charged to?"

"Sir, according to the New York City Property Damage Act, the aggressor bears seventy percent of the responsibility, and the instigator bears thirty percent. So..."

"Don't say it." Tony waved his hand weakly, "I don't want to hear it."

"Alert, sir. Hulk just passed Wall Street, and the horns of the Charging Bull statue... have been broken off."

Tony: "..."

"Alert, sir. Tel-Rol's energy orb hit the torch of the Statue of Liberty."

Tony: "..."

"Alert, sir. Hulk jumped into Times Square and is currently playing frisbee with the giant M&M's Chocolate World billboard."

Tony: "Damn it!"

Tony couldn't hold back any longer and slammed his fist on the control panel.

Clark, standing nearby, silently offered him a glass of water.

"You'll get used to it," Clark said with the tone of someone who'd been there before. "When I first met him, he played in my farm's cornfield like a maze and didn't come out for three days."

Tony: "..."

This earth-shattering chase went from Manhattan, all the way west.

It spanned the entire United States.

Two hours later.

Nevada, Black Rock Desert.

Tel-Rol finally stopped, hovering in mid-air.

A few seconds later, Hulk's massive green figure, covered in wind and sand, landed heavily in the desert in front of him, creating a large crater.

"Roar!"

Hulk's fury had reached its peak.

His skin was green, almost black.

Tel-Rol looked at him, nodding in satisfaction.

"Alright, this is it."

"The place is big enough; we can really let loose."

He slowly landed, and beckoned to Hulk.

"Come on, Green Turtle."

"Round two, officially begins!"

The battle erupted instantly.

And it lasted for three days and three nights.

On the first day, the aftermath of their battle leveled the few small hills in the desert.

On the second day, they carved out a gigantic, bottomless canyon in the middle of the desert.

On the third day, the entire Black Rock Desert's climate system was in disarray; a massive, constantly rotating energy storm eye appeared on satellite cloud maps.

The commotion from this battle was simply too great.

It had long since alerted various forces on Earth.

S.H.I.E.L.D., the Eye of Providence, the military... countless satellites and drones had been focused on this desert from the very beginning of the battle.
