As the night grew cooler Nolan rode his horse as fast as he could, nearly reaching the city's boarder mark.
He suddenly pulled his horse to a stop, in a vast part of the kingdom that was filled with nothing. No trees, no animals, no buildings—just dirt and the howling night wind.
He came down and looked around, squinting his eyes. "Did I come late? Too early? Gah, I hate this regression."
Nolan walked with his horse looking around for someone, but there was no sign of life other than him and his horse.
He was even surprised that there weren't any demons around, even with the noises his horse made when getting here.
"I guess I should just go back? But I came on time, if I'm not mistaking," Nolan said with an exhausted tone as he came to a stop .
"You tried looking back?"
