Chapter 124 - Chapter 124: The World Between Worlds

After confirming that he would bring Illya and the others to Tohsaka Rin's worldline, Izumi brought them to visit his personal inner world first.

Naturally, Irisviel, Sella, and the rest offered no resistance.

When they stepped through the portal and arrived, every pair of eyes widened in silent awe.

The sight was dreamlike.

A vast, beautiful domain that felt more like a fantasy paradise than a constructed dimension.

And among its inhabitants—

Were the Einzbern homunculi Izumi had rescued.

Illya stared, dumbfounded.

The place was full of girls who looked exactly like Sella and Liz.

Her jaw dropped.

"Sella has that many sisters?"

"That's just unfair!"

Yes, she knew they were artificial humans.

But seeing them in mass production like this broke her sense of reality.

Irisviel, however, looked delighted.

Seeing so many homunculi again brought pure happiness to her eyes.

She surveyed the world around her, slowly nodding with satisfaction.

"…I like it here."

"I think I'll settle down in this world from now on."

Illya instantly froze.

"Wait— what!?

Mom, if you live here, what happens to me?"

"Are you abandoning me!?"

Irisviel waved a finger, smiling.

"First of all— call me onee-san now."

"As for you, just go to school with Miyu and Chloe like a good girl."

"Sella and Liz will take care of you."

"So, that settles it."

She laughed cheerfully, utterly unconcerned.

Illya felt her soul leave her body.

"…Is this really happening?"

"I'm really being abandoned!?"

Izumi couldn't help but chuckle.

"Illya, just focus on school for now."

"And you can't exactly abandon your classmates and friends just to follow your 'mother,' right?"

"Besides, it's not like we're never coming back."

"If I want to return, it's trivial."

"So you don't need to worry."

He had already planned this out.

He didn't intend to bring Illya to the DXD world yet.

Better to let her stay here, go to school, and live a normal life.

Later—during holidays, or whenever she had time—

he could bring her over to visit.

Knowing Illya's personality, forcibly separating her from her school and friends would only make her miserable.

Better to let her grow peacefully.

Irisviel felt the same.

This world's Illya had been sheltered from birth, growing up in a bubble of gentle happiness—

a childhood crafted by Irisviel.

That was precisely why she remained so innocent.

Izumi didn't want to destroy that.

As for Irisviel herself—

She was a wanderer anyway.

She could always drop by to check on Illya whenever she wished.

It would be fine.

After hearing Izumi's explanation, Illya grumbled, hesitated, then finally nodded.

"…Fine."

"But you're not allowed to forget about us!"

"You have to come back often!"

She could accept the arrangement—

as long as abandonment was off the table.

Both Izumi and Irisviel agreed immediately.

After touring the inner world together, Izumi finally led them out.

It was time to prepare for departure—

to Rin's world.

The Departure

At Illya's home, the group assembled:

Tohsaka Rin

Izumi

Le Fay

Illya

Kuro

Miyu

Irisviel

Sakura

Plus— a kidnapped child Gilgamesh

Eight in total.

As for Luvia—

Izumi sent her home.

He currently had zero energy to entertain the "noble crane," even if she was clearly interested in him.

He already had more girls than he could manage, and he'd been away long enough.

If he didn't wrap things up soon, Ophis might actually come to kill him.

With that disturbing thought, Izumi glanced over everyone, then spoke aloud:

"All right. Everyone's here."

"Let's go."

A vast magic circle bloomed beneath their feet.

Sella and Liz stood outside the formation, bowing.

"Safe travels."

"Please take care."

Izumi smiled, waving casually before activating the Second Magic.

Light swallowed them—

and the world shifted.

The Passage Between Worlds

Izumi held Sakura in his arms as they entered the dimensional corridor.

But as the destination drew near—

Her body began to change.

Izumi froze.

Sakura was growing.

Before everyone's eyes, the four-year-old girl stretched upward—

becoming eight, then ten, twelve, fourteen—

Fifteen—

Sixteen—

Until a young woman sat in his lap, curled awkwardly in his arms.

Everyone stared, speechless.

Especially the girls, who watched with horror as a tiny kouhai suddenly turned into an older onee-san—

With assets that eclipsed theirs completely.

Rin stared, dumbfounded.

"…That's my sister?"

She stared again.

...And those are definitely bigger than mine.

Izumi blinked at the girl in his arms.

His magical girl Sakura was gone.

In her place—

A fully grown version.

A wife-material Sakura.

Adult Sakura lifted her head, eyes hazy with confusion.

"Izumi-nii… I think I grew up."

"And I suddenly… know a lot of things."

The abrupt maturity felt unreal.

Seeing Izumi again triggered a strange nostalgia—

As if she had waited for him for over a decade.

Yet here he was, holding her like a child.

Blushing, she hesitated—

but the thought crossed her mind:

Now that I'm the same age as him… we could…

Rin broke the moment sharply.

"What happened?"

"Why did Sakura suddenly grow up!?"

Izumi frowned, considering.

"It might be the time distortion."

"She probably absorbed and consolidated her other worldline selves."

"And since we're entering your world—"

"And that Sakura is already grown, possibly gone—"

"This Sakura became the single, consolidated identity."

"In short— this Sakura is now the only Sakura."

His lips curved slightly.

Maybe this wasn't bad.

No magical girl mode—

but he gained a devoted, mature Sakura.

That had its own appeal.

Light dispersed—

and the group arrived.

Arrival: The Tohsaka Workshop

They stood in Tohsaka's underground workshop—

the place where Rin had summoned her Servant.

And at the entrance stood—

A man in red, with white hair, staring blankly at them.

Archer.

He looked at the group—

Izumi, two Rins, several unknown girls, Irisviel, a grown Sakura, Le Fay, and a child Gilgamesh—

And his expression perfectly conveyed:

"What the hell did I just walk into?"
