Izumi accepted the documents Tohsaka Tokiomi handed him, his expression frozen somewhere between bafflement and exasperation.
Seriously?
He had intended to kill that man himself—yet somehow Tokiomi had beaten him to it, then assumed Izumi would be furious and begged forgiveness?
This was… awkward, to say the least.
Izumi cleared his throat lightly.
"It's fine. I forgive you."
With that, he casually stored the Jeweled Sword blueprint away.
It was a valuable artifact—absolutely worth studying.
Upon hearing that he had been forgiven, Tokiomi finally exhaled in relief.
Offending a Magician was a death sentence; even the Tohsaka head couldn't withstand that.
Rin, watching from the side, could only stare in speechless disbelief.
Her dignified, stern father had truly become a shameless bootlicker ever since Izumi arrived.
She never imagined her father was this kind of person.
After securing the blueprints, Izumi addressed Tokiomi again:
"Prepare several plane tickets to Germania. Our next stop is the Einzbern Castle."
Tokiomi blinked in surprise.
"You mean… you intend to leave Fuyuki?"
Izumi nodded.
"Yes. Once I settle the last matter there, I'll be departing this world. So we won't be staying here any longer."
"As for Sakura—I'll be taking her with me. I'll be personally supervising her magical education."
As he spoke, a faint smile touched his lips.
He would indeed teach Sakura magic—but not the magecraft of this world.
Her attribute was Imaginary Number (Kū)—space. A rare and powerful classification, granting her the ability to slip into interdimensional gaps. Not only that, her special trait allowed her to absorb mana and even life force from others.
In Izumi's world, such a talent would blossom into an extraordinary spatial mage.
Tokiomi froze for a heartbeat—then his face lit up with excitement.
"Excellent—excellent! Then I entrust Sakura to you! Please, take care of her!"
He bowed deeply.
This was monumental: the Tohsaka family could very well produce a Magician in the future. Such glory was unprecedented.
For now, the incident in Fuyuki had come to a close.
Izumi had secured the Greater Grail, taken Sakura under his wing, and even Le Fay had awakened a fragment of the Third Magic.
This trip had indeed been worth it.
Tokiomi swiftly arranged everything—plane tickets, identification documents, legal records. Since Izumi's group originated ten years in the future, they had none of these, but to the prestigious Tohsaka family, such matters were trivial.
This would save Izumi and the others countless headaches.
With everything prepared, Izumi led Sakura, Rin, and Le Fay onto their journey to the Einzbern lands.
For Sakura, it was her first time flying in an airplane.
She stared around with wide eyes the moment she boarded, curiosity overflowing.
After her heartfelt talk with her mother the previous night, the girl seemed to have loosened some of the knots inside her heart.
While she remained distant from Tokiomi, her resentment toward her mother had weakened.
Izumi didn't push her. As long as Sakura was happy, that was enough.
After more than ten hours in the sky, they finally arrived in Germania.
Following the address Tokiomi had provided, Izumi hailed a taxi and began the ascent toward the Einzbern Castle.
Meanwhile, at the Einzbern Castle
A cold silence hung over the meeting hall.
Sitting on one side was Jubstacheit von Einzbern—Acht, patriarch of the Einzbern family, his face expressionless.
Opposite him sat Emiya Kiritsugu, quietly smoking, shadows weighing heavily across his features.
Everything he had sacrificed—every compromise, every bloody step—had been for the Grail War.
He had even agreed to marry into the Einzbern family for the sake of this one opportunity.
And now?
The Grail War had ended before it began.
The Grail itself had been taken.
Kiritsugu wanted to curse aloud.
After a long silence, Acht finally spoke.
"Emiya-san. Since the Grail War has concluded, our cooperation ends here."
"Whatever happened in the Far East is unclear," he continued, "but the Einzbern family no longer requires your assistance."
The implication was blunt:
You may leave.
Kiritsugu inhaled deeply on his cigarette.
"Patriarch Acht… do you not intend to pursue this matter?"
"Not even investigate what occurred?"
The Grail War was his last hope.
He could not accept its disappearance so easily.
If they investigated—if they uncovered the cause—perhaps the Grail War could resume.
He refused to give up.
All the preparation, all the sacrifice—only to be dismissed in an instant?
Who could accept that?
Acht's crimson artificial eyes narrowed.
"There is no need."
"If the Grail War has ceased, then something extraordinary must have happened."
"Investigation is the responsibility of the Einzbern family alone."
"It has nothing to do with you."
He spoke with a chilling coldness.
He had never felt any fondness for the so-called magus killer.
If not for the need to have him fight in the Grail War, Kiritsugu would never have been permitted near the Einzbern household.
Acht himself was a homunculus. The only purpose of his existence was to maintain the fortress, preserve the legacy of the Third Magic, and implant minimal artificial humanity into each new generation of homunculi.
Beyond that, he had no emotions—only directives.
Since the Grail War was over, Emiya Kiritsugu no longer served a purpose.
Thus, Acht began dismissing him.
Everything he said was nothing more than simulated human courtesy.
Kiritsugu fell silent for a long moment.
Eventually, he stood.
"Then I won't impose further."
"If you ever require my assistance again, you may contact me at any time. I'll be ready."
There was still hope—if Acht chose to investigate.
If he found the truth.
If he summoned Kiritsugu again.
Acht said nothing, simply watching without emotion as the magus killer walked away.
