As the muffled roar spread outward, something completely unexpected happened.
When Goku's shockwave came within half a meter of Vegeta, it was stopped dead by Vegeta's overwhelming aura.
The energy shattered into streaks of light and scattered in all directions, unable to advance even an inch.
The sight was utterly shocking.
Everyone was stunned into silence—even Goku himself began doubting reality.
That energy wave had been released with his full power, meant to break the deadlock in one decisive strike.
Yet not only did it fail to shake Vegeta, it didn't even force him to take a single step.
"Damn it! HAAAH!!"
Goku cut off the energy wave and, in the very next instant, gathered his ki and rushed straight at Vegeta.
His fist carried enough power to split mountains and cleave the earth.
If anyone else—even someone with over a hundred thousand battle power—had faced it head-on, they would have been forced to retreat.
But Vegeta was different.
With his current base power already exceeding five million, he casually raised one finger.
And blocked the punch.
Effortlessly.
Goku's assault didn't stop there.
Though deeply shaken by the fact that his full-power strike had once again been neutralized with a single finger, he wasn't the type to retreat just because of fear.

Back then, Kaio-ken had allowed him to bridge the distance.

"What's wrong, Kakarot?" Vegeta mocked calmly. "Your attacks are getting weaker and weaker. Are you running out of strength already?"
Hearing that, Goku immediately made his decision.
He leapt backward several times, stabilized himself, then crossed his arms.
"This fight has only just begun!" Goku shouted. "Even if I'm not your match, I'll show you everything I've got—no regrets!"
His aura exploded once more.
But this time, it was no longer snow-white.
A blood-red aura surged violently around his body.
With the activation of Kaio-ken, Goku's combat power instantly doubled—leaping from 150,000 to 300,000.
The pressure was intense, his presence overwhelming.
But to Vegeta…
It still wasn't worth much.
Two times Kaio-ken wasn't even enough to interest him.
In the distance, everyone who witnessed the exchange gasped.
They had known from the beginning that Goku wasn't Vegeta's match—but seeing it firsthand was still terrifying.
This was the power Vegeta possessed now.

This wasn't even close to his true strength.
"That's great… Dad's using Kaio-ken," Gohan murmured. "With Kaio-ken, the gap will shrink."
No matter how bad the situation looked, the son still believed in his father.
Krillin let out a quiet sigh. "This time, Goku knows he's going to lose—and he's still fighting. He's not just challenging Vegeta… he's telling him that he'll get stronger."
As he spoke, Bulma stared fixedly at the two figures.
She didn't know why, but she felt it deeply—this confrontation was inevitable.
These two were destined rivals.

"Take this, Vegeta!!"
With his aura stabilized, Goku—now at 300,000 combat power—charged forward once again.
Facing this level of power, Vegeta still lifted only one finger.
"Too slow. And still not enough power," Vegeta said coldly. "Get serious, Kakarot."
Finding an opening, Vegeta casually flicked Goku on the forehead with that same finger.
The result was immediate.
Goku was sent flying.
An invisible shockwave ripped through his body, flooding him with pain. As he was thrown backward, he forcibly erupted his ki to stabilize himself midair.
Vegeta's restraint wasn't kindness.
It was a warning.
"If two times isn't enough to make you move an inch—then five times Kaio-ken!! HAAA—AAAAGH!!!"
Goku roared hysterically.
The blood-red aura around him thickened, growing heavier and more violent by the second.
His combat power surged rapidly.
If a scouter were present, the numbers would have shocked everyone watching—
Except Vegeta.
With Kaio-ken x5, Goku's combat power skyrocketed to 750,000.
Seven hundred and fifty thousand.
At that level, Frieza's first form would be crushed effortlessly.
Even against Frieza's second form, Goku could put up a serious fight—though victory would still be unlikely.
Feeling this power—enough to shake the heavens and the earth—Vegeta simply shook his head.
"Five times isn't enough," he said calmly.
"Ten times is about right."
His words echoed across the battlefield.
Everyone swallowed hard.
Those who understood the numbers knew exactly what that meant.
With a base power of 150,000, Kaio-ken x10 meant—
1,500,000 combat power.
Goku clenched his teeth, his eyes already tinged with red.
Five times Kaio-ken wasn't his limit—but right now, he was only truly accustomed to around seven times.
Jumping straight to ten would place an enormous burden on his body, very likely causing consequences similar to when he had used four times Kaio-ken on Earth.
But he had no choice.
Vegeta clearly wasn't interested in dragging this out anymore.
Either Goku showed him ten times Kaio-ken—
Or he would be defeated immediately.
"In that case… I'll go all out!" Goku took a deep breath. "At worst, I'll just eat another Senzu Bean afterward!"
He still had three Senzu Beans left.
That was enough reassurance.
If not for the Senzu Beans restoring his body and stamina during the six-day journey from Earth to Namek, he never would have trained his base power to 150,000 in the first place.
In fact, Goku was already wondering—
If he pushed himself to the brink here, got seriously injured, and then recovered with a Senzu Bean…
Would his strength skyrocket again?
It had happened multiple times during the past six days.
That thought had already become a habit.
The violent aura expanded endlessly.
The land within tens of miles began to tremble under the pressure of Goku's power.
