Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Vegeta?

Planet 79.

Frieza Force, First Army, Combat Logistics Division.

Inside the treatment room, a group of strangely shaped aliens crowded around a healing machine, whispering among themselves.

Inside the tank was a naked human male, being examined like some sort of lab animal.

Even with his eyes closed, a terrifying aura radiated from his entire body.

He was none other than Vegeta, Prince of the Saiyans.

Saiyan? Vegeta?

That's right.

This world was the Dragon Ball world, and this place was Frieza's Planet 79, a supply station designated for Frieza's soldiers—one of the many backyard playgrounds of the cosmic real estate tyrant himself.

The date: December 13, Age 762.

After the battle on Earth, the heavily injured Vegeta barely escaped and returned here.

Eighteen days later, after more than half a month of treatment, he had finally fully recovered.

No—

technically, he hadn't fully recovered yet.

Because the Vegeta lying inside the tank wasn't the original Vegeta anymore.

To understand why, we need to rewind back to his escape from Earth.

Vegeta, kept alive only by the emergency medical systems inside his pod, was taken over by Liam, a transmigrator who appeared in his consciousness while he was unconscious.

For an ordinary person like Liam, this was insane—but it actually happened.

Back before his transmigration, he had climbed to the rooftop of his apartment building with an expensive telescope to watch the seven-star alignment.

He even bragged in his group chat that he was about to transmigrate before everyone else…

At the time, everyone in the chat was discussing Dragon Ball Daima.

Liam, being a long-time Dragon Ball fan, got carried away.

When discussing who they'd want to become if they transmigrated into the Dragon Ball world, Liam chose Vegeta without a second thought.

Even if Vegeta always ranked second in the later arcs, his charisma was simply overwhelming.

He got too excited, so when the seven-star alignment appeared, he panicked, slipped, maybe got hit by a strange gust of wind—whatever it was, he fell off the rooftop.

And then he woke up in Vegeta's broken, near-death body.

Lucky for him, Vegeta was already critically injured.

Otherwise, Liam was sure he would've been devoured instantly. No chance to take over.

Having become Vegeta, Liam spent the entire recovery process absorbing Vegeta's memories.

"All indicators normal. It's time."

A dinosaur-like alien stepped forward and tapped commands into the machine.

The healing fluid drained away. Moments later, Vegeta's body was fully exposed.

"Truly worthy of the Saiyan warrior race."

"Even with injuries like that, he healed completely."

"What kind of enemy did he even fight to end up like that?"

"Shhh! Quiet! Do you want to die…?"

The whispers stopped instantly.

The dinosaur alien stepped up to the open healing pod.

"It's ready, Vegeta. You may open your eyes now."

As soon as he finished speaking, he flinched and stumbled back.

Vegeta's eyes snapped open—cold, bloodshot, and terrifyingly sharp.

Liam—now Vegeta—took several deep breaths.

His consciousness was fully awake, his memories fully integrated.

What once felt like a dream was now painfully real.

He was Vegeta.

Alive, conscious, and standing in the Dragon Ball world.

"I'm truly sorry," the dinosaur alien reported nervously. "The machine healed your injuries, but your tail… we couldn't regenerate it."

Though the alien held a modest rank here, he was still nothing but a servant in the eyes of elite warriors.

A single bad mood from Vegeta could erase him from existence.

Hearing his words, Vegeta stepped out of the pod and replied calmly:

"It's fine. The tail will grow back eventually. How long was I inside this time?"

Everyone in the room let out a silent breath of relief.

People in this division could not afford to offend someone like Vegeta.

Whenever he was around, they either flattered him or kept their heads down.

The dinosaur alien, seeing that Vegeta wasn't angry, quickly continued flattering him.

"It has been twenty-three days since your return, sir."

Twenty-three days. Quite a long time.

He also reported other news.

For instance, Cui—Vegeta's annoying rival—had issued a death order, telling him to report immediately after recovery.

As if.

Not even Liam, now fully merged as Vegeta, cared.

Who was Cui?

A power level of 18,000.

Meanwhile, Vegeta's power level was now 24,000.

Dodoria was nothing. Cui was even less.

Even the original Vegeta could have killed him easily—but had held back because of Frieza.

I'm not the original Vegeta, he thought darkly. So he'd better not provoke me, or he won't leave this planet alive.

He paused.

The fusion with Vegeta's body had clearly influenced him—murderous impulses now flickered in his mind without warning.

But that was normal. As a transmigrator, he possessed knowledge that original Vegeta never had.

He was Vegeta now—

but not the same Vegeta as before.

The dinosaur alien kept talking while Vegeta changed into a new battle suit.

In his past life, he could never understand why Vegeta was so obsessed with this outfit.

Now he understood.

It was perfect for a warrior—soft, flexible, temperature-regulated, and highly durable.

"Vegeta, here is the latest upgraded power-level scouter."

Vegeta put it on.

"This thing is still somewhat useful at this stage," he muttered.

He had almost refused it earlier—because the original Vegeta despised relying on scouters.

But as a transmigrator, he knew better.

In the early arcs, scouters were still essential.

Especially when he would eventually head to Planet Namek.

With that, Vegeta strode out of the room.
