Vegeta nodded in satisfaction.
The boy was finally thinking properly.
Trunks stared at his father, eyes wide with excitement. Super Saiyan First Grade Full Power was already beyond imagination to him. And now there was something even higher?
"And you've already reached it… haven't you, Father?" Trunks asked.
"Of course," Vegeta replied calmly. "Otherwise, why would it be called Super Saiyan First Grade Full Power? If that were the limit, it would simply be called Super Saiyan Full Power."
He had already broken through to the next realm during his year of training.
Without that breakthrough, traveling across time recklessly would have been suicide if he had encountered someone at Perfect Cell's level.
The Dragon Ball world was filled with monsters far beyond imagination.
Reaching Super Saiyan 2 was merely an entry ticket.
"You want to see it?" Vegeta asked with a faint smirk.
Gohan and Trunks nodded immediately.
"Watch carefully. I'll only do this once."
The air grew heavy.
Both boys felt their throats tighten.
Suddenly—
Boom!
Vegeta's aura exploded outward.
Golden flames roared violently, forming a pillar of light that pierced the sky. The earth trembled under the pressure.
Gohan and Trunks, still in their Super Saiyan forms, were blasted backward by the shockwave. Gohan quickly flared his ki and grabbed Trunks, barely stabilizing them.
"This… this power…" Gohan muttered, voice trembling. "It's not even on the same level."
He couldn't see clearly through the blinding light.
But the pressure alone made him feel like dust before a planet.
The golden aura intensified.
Vegeta's muscles tightened slightly, his hair rose higher and sharper than before, and then—
Crack!
Blue-white lightning flickered around his body.
The pillar of light vanished.
Standing there calmly, Vegeta radiated overwhelming dominance.
"This," he said, his voice steady and absolute, "is Super Saiyan 2."
At that moment, his power had increased one hundred times his base strength.
From 80 million to 8 billion.
And that was not even his absolute limit.
If he truly pushed himself, he could exceed ten billion.
He had spent a year breaking through this barrier after defeating Frieza and King Cold.
But he also understood that future growth would not come so easily. From here on, progress required time, accumulation, and deeper insight.
After allowing them to fully feel the pressure, Vegeta dismissed the transformation.
The golden lightning faded.
Everything returned to calm.
Gohan and Trunks slowly powered down as well.
Their eyes were filled with awe.
Super Saiyan First Grade Full Power was only the beginning.
Super Saiyan 2 was the true milestone.
And even that… was not the end.
Back at West City
Later, the three returned home.
Bulma listened as Gohan and Trunks explained everything.
"So Android 17 and Android 18 are gone… and Cell too?" Bulma asked, tears forming in her eyes.
"Yes, Aunt Bulma," Gohan said firmly. "The Android threat is completely eradicated."
For fifteen years, she had lived in despair.
Now there was peace.
But the cost had been enormous.
Most of their loved ones were gone.
Vegeta gently placed a hand on her back. "The past is over. Think about the future."
Bulma nodded softly. "Yes… the future."
Yet Vegeta could sense her concern.
"You're thinking that once this timeline is safe, I'll leave, aren't you?" he said directly.
Bulma sighed. "You never change. Always blunt."
"If I weren't blunt, I wouldn't be me," Vegeta replied.
Trunks looked nervous. "Father… are you really leaving?"
Vegeta shot him a stern look. "What? Hoping to escape my training?"
"N-No! Absolutely not!" Trunks said quickly, though relief flashed in his eyes.
Gohan spoke more seriously. "Uncle Vegeta, you're not from this timeline. Eventually you'll return. Is it really alright to stay here long-term?"
The atmosphere grew heavy.
Vegeta stood up.
"Instead of worrying about when I'll leave, worry about becoming stronger. Until you two reach a proper level, I'm not going anywhere."
He paused.
"And I plan to visit the Other World of this timeline."
Everyone froze.
"The Other World?" Gohan asked. "Is that even possible?"
Trunks looked confused. "What's the Other World?"
"When people die, their souls go to the Other World," Vegeta explained. "They're judged by King Yemma and sent to Heaven or Hell."
He then looked at Gohan.
"Kakarot learned Instant Transmission in this timeline, didn't he? That technique allows travel between the living world and the Other World. The dead can't return freely, but the living can visit—if they're strong enough."
Gohan's eyes widened. "Instant Transmission… I forgot. So you can go there?"
Bulma frowned. "Isn't that dangerous?"
"It's fine," Vegeta replied. "If the warriors of this timeline are still there, perhaps I can use King Kai to locate New Namek and use Porunga to revive them."
Even as he said it, he knew it might not be so simple.
Still, it was worth trying.
"Take me with you," Gohan said urgently. "I want to see them too."
He wanted to know if Goku was still there.
If Piccolo, Krillin, Tien Shinhan, and the others still remained.
Vegeta looked at him quietly.
The future had been saved.
But for Gohan, closure had yet to come.
And perhaps—
Meeting Kakarot of this timeline would ignite something new.
