Freya stiffened at the words, feeling a light breath tickling the back of her neck. There was someone right behind her and she hadn't even realized it until they spoke and made their presence known.
And judging by the sharp glint in Xavier's narrowed eyes as he stared at the person behind him, this person was very dangerous. A chill went down her spine at the thought and Freya didn't dare turn around, frozen in place.
Guess she was meeting Xavier's brother whether she liked it or not.
"Why don't you introduce me, Xavier?" The voice murmured softly, warm air tickling her ear. "After all, it's not everyday your older brother brings home a female."
Xavier's frown deepened as he slowly removed the glove off his right hand and muttered, "Ethan… Now is not the time for games."
As the two brothers entered a staring contest, Freya slowly moved her hands to the table. She needed something, anything, to defend herself with. Even if it seemed useless.
