Chapter 208 - Chapter 207 The Second Legion, The Good of Faith.

The stories about the Second and Eleventh Legions and their Primarchs are the author's own creations. A small 30K era storyline will begin below, and this storyline is also one of the major underlying plots of this book.

The Primarchs are lifeforms created by the Emperor, the Perpetual Eldar, and Genetic Engineering Doctor Astartes through genetic engineering technology. Because the Emperor's own DNA and Eldar's DNA were used in the creation process, they are also considered the children (test-tube babies) of these two. Colloquially, the twenty-one Primarchs are the twenty-one Imperial Princes.

The Primarchs are superhuman, even demigod-like beings in all aspects, far more powerful than even the Custodes. They are taller, faster, stronger, more united, and smarter, and also very charismatic, making them highly suitable as leaders for all facets of the Imperium of Man.

The Primarchs were born in secret laboratories beneath the Himalayas. Their genetic structures were based on the Emperor and Eldar but differed from each other. It is speculated that the Emperor also used long-forgotten ancient psychic technology to shape the Primarchs' minds.

The Nineteenth Legion, the Raven Guard, later found the original data left behind by the Emperor when he created the Primarchs, and subsequently discovered that many Primarchs' genetic samples differed greatly from the blueprint: some Primarchs had large sections of gene sequences deleted, while others had the DNA of other species embedded in their genes. The reason for this is probably only known to the Emperor himself.

The Emperor's initial plan was for these artificial superhumans to grow up safely in the laboratory, personally guiding them from infancy until they became the roles he wished them to be.

However, what happened next had a touch of Greek and Roman mythology.

Eldar (Gaia), as the mother, did not want her children to become pawns in the Emperor's (Cronus) grand plan, which led to the Primarchs' dispersal. Although the Emperor had set up comprehensive protective measures for the Primarchs, the Chaos Gods of the Warp still managed to teleport the Primarchs out of the laboratory and scatter them across various parts of the universe.

Due to the loss of the Primarchs, Lady Astartes, who spearheaded the entire Primarch project and considered the twenty-one children her own, tragically committed suicide.

For whatever reason, the Emperor did not punish Eldar. She was allowed to live in seclusion in Africa and spend her immortal life.

Among them, the Second Primarch landed on a Kharon named Magana. This Kharon was a desert Kharon, with 60% desert and 40% ocean. The entire Kharon was composed of two large continents, separated by seawater and connected by a strait.

The civilization of this Kharon had a strong Arabic style, and its technological level was very distorted. They could produce a powerful hand-cranked lasgun (like the Minuteman's in Fallout 4), but they could not produce any electrical products.

At the same time, the people on the Kharon would use a strange 'alchemy', a Warp ability that allowed people to 'turn stone into gold' while concocting various strange potions. Some, when drunk, allowed people to breathe underwater for a period; others, when drunk, could turn people into giants with immense strength.

Of course, these alchemical potions had severe side effects, and this alchemy could even create strange monsters and some terrifying weapons.

There was a special mineral on the Kharon, called 'Damascus Steel'. When this mineral was smelted into metal, its hardness and sharpness even surpassed the claws of the Caliban forest beasts and the teeth of the Kharon's giant beasts. (The author is a knife enthusiast and knows that true Damascus is made of multiple layers of steel pressed together.)

The Second Primarch was flung from the Warp's frenzy onto Kharon Magana. This Kharon was a scorching sea of sand, burning by day and bone-chilling by night, with a civilization style deeply imbued with Arabic charm.

The Emperor's genetic heritage endowed him with superhuman wisdom and strength. Even as an infant, his presence exuded an unparalleled charisma, though at this time he had not yet awakened his Primarch genes.

He was found in a desolate desert, cradled in swaddling clothes, by a passing camel caravan. The caravan brought him to the court of the most powerful ruler of Magana, sultan Habib ibn al-Wadi.

sultan Habib ibn al-Wadi was a resourceful and ambitious ruler. His palace was located in an oasis on the coast of the eastern hemisphere.

The sultan was known for his wisdom and benevolence, and he was greatly interested in the child, especially this infant who seemed to possess a mysterious destiny.

The sultan named him "Mustafa Sarradin," meaning "the goodness of faith chosen by destiny."

Sarradin grew exceptionally fast. Although he had not awakened his Primarch genes and grew at the same rate as a normal human, by the age of 10, he had mastered all of Magana's languages and cultures, and was well-versed in military affairs, governance, and philosophy.

His kindness and benevolence influenced those around him, but his eyes often revealed loneliness and sadness, which made him seem out of place among others.

Kharon Magana had long been in a state of civil war, with various sultanates on the two continents fighting each other for resources and control over the 'Damascus Steel' mineral veins.

Upon reaching adulthood, Sarradin was appointed as sultan Habib's chief general. He led an army composed of desert Soldiers, an army that had grown up with him since childhood, like his shadow.

This unit was called the 'Janissaries', meaning 'New Army', symbolizing the rebirth of Magana.

He created a philosophy of war centered on wisdom and strategy:

Swiftness: Rapidly penetrate enemy lines with alien camels and desert off-road vehicles;

Courage: Confront enemies head-on with lasgun flintlocks and close-combat scimitars, deterring them;

Benevolence: Be generous to others, winning them over with virtue.

After decades of war, he led his army across the two continents, conquering all tribes, and finally built a magnificent capital, 'Istanbul', at the strait connecting the two continents.

He was nearing sixty, revered by the world as the "Monarch of Sand," but he refused to be king, instead establishing a united emirate based on wisdom and unity.

(There's an image in the paragraph comments; the prototype is Sarradin from 'Kingdom of Heaven', and the character design is Sarradin + Atatürk + King Hassan)

And when the Emperor and Horus arrived on this Kharon, Sarradin was already an old man nearing 60. All his achievements were accomplished without having awakened his Primarch essence.

Aboard the Emperor's battleship, the "Glorious Eternity," the Emperor gazed at the desert surface of Kharon Magana, a complex emotion in his smile. He turned to Horus, who had just rejoined the fleet, and said, "Go, find your brother. Use your charisma and wisdom to make him understand his destiny."

Horus frowned slightly. He had just returned to the Emperor and felt honored to be the "first" Primarch found. The Emperor's trust filled him with pride, but the reappearance of another brother brought both anticipation and a subtle unease to his heart. He softly replied, "As you wish, Father." However, a hint of worry flickered in his eyes.

Horus, with a small squad of Luna Wolves—elite Space Marine from his personal guard—and a detachment of Solar Auxilia Soldiers, descended near an oasis in the Magana desert. As they advanced, they witnessed Magana's unique civilization.

White desert cities, golden crescent and star domes shining under the scorching sun, camel caravans slowly traversing the sea of sand, coexisting with mechanical vehicles, robed artisans operating complex laser equipment with hand-cranked power generators (Peshawar Laser Ascetics).

However, there was one thing that brought Horus comfort: the people here treated each other with respect and courtesy. Children wearing different cultural attire and believing in different religions played and studied together. It was as if there were no barriers here.

Horus felt curious, but also scornful. He quietly thought to himself, "Such a backward yet self-important Kharon."

In the capital of the "Monarch of Sand," Sarradin stood on the city walls, welcoming the alien visitors. He wore armor made of "Damascus Steel," held a longsword gifted by the sultan, and his eyes were sharp. Although he was nearing sixty, he still maintained an upright posture, like a sun rising from the desert.

As Horus stepped into the palace, the eyes of the two brothers met for the first time.

Horus smiled, his words elegant: "I have finally met you, my brother. Father has been searching for you."

Sarradin, however, was neither humble nor arrogant, his tone calm: "Brother? My father is on Magana. He taught me wisdom and benevolence, not foreign iron and blood or expansion."

These words made Horus frown slightly. He felt a rift appearing in the initial encounter between the brothers.
