Chapter 41 - Chapter 39: Someone From Another World

While 'Shipment' literally means I decide to ship pigs, I was too curious about this newly added 'Someone from Another World' and pressed it firmly.

Then, a screen window slowly became semi-transparent before my eyes, much like a mobile game loading screen, with the large phrase [Someone from Another World]. Unlike the blue screens until now, a slightly reddish screen that looked somewhat ominous appeared.

Before I could even figure out its identity, red message windows began listing up one after another before me.

x Month x Day

[It's already the 2nd week being pursued. I haven't eaten anything except water.]

Status windows began listing up-to-date information, like a report on the person in a large notebook.

x Month x Day

[I am fleeing with my family from those attacking us! Ah, while fleeing, my youngest son was killed by those vicious mobs!]

Just when I thought the message from the start was about starving, from the second one onward, the atmosphere was taking an unusual turn.

x Month x Day

[I vowed revenge while burying my youngest son, but a sense of skepticism and despair is sweeping over me about what I, starving and with an empty stomach right now, can actually do!]

As I scrolled down and down the screen windows for a while, all I could see was them being chased and chased, hiding their bodies in thorny bushes, getting pierced by sharp, razor-like thorns while evading pursuers, or digging the ground to drink muddy water when there was none, etc. It reminded me of the atmosphere in advertisements by certain relief organizations on TV asking for support for African refugees.

It was practically no different. The only slight difference was that this 'Someone', the protagonist of these messages, was the head of a family on the run, evading pursuers trying to kill them.

The messages that kept appearing showed them still fleeing, hiding from someone's eyes, and engaging in desperate escape attempts.

Just from the daily activities transmitted through these message windows, without even seeing it with my own eyes, I could tell how urgent the situation was and how desperate this 'Someone' was.

As these frantic escape message windows progressed closer and closer to the present, the situation was gradually worsening.

x Month x Day

[Just a little, just a little more, and we can reach the forgotten paradise where gods supposedly descended in the past. But today, my wife, unable to endure the hunger, collapsed. I immediately gave her some of our emergency rations for nutrients, but I wonder how many more days we can hold on...]

In their current state of nomadic life without a proper shelter, essential items for survival were slowly depleting as a baseline. Furthermore, a message window even appeared stating that some of the children who went out to procure food returned injured.

x Month x Day

[There's not much left now. Two more days? Three? After a long flight, it's been a while since we shook off the pursuers, so there's really not much left now!]

I don't know who or where they are, but after fleeing, even losing family members, was their hardship finally paying off? The message window, which had been dyed a bright red until now, was now a lighter pink hue.

But as if to hit me on the back of the head, phrases appeared immediately with a crimson message window.

x Month x Day

[Finally, the last of the emergency rations ran out. I gave my share to my collapsed wife and young children and tried chewing bitter grass roots, but without a stable base, I truly can't see the future ahead now. But just a little further! Just a little further... Just a little... If we can just go a little...!]

As if showing the deteriorating state of the patriarch, who was starving himself to feed his family even one more bite, the color was a precarious, dangerously intense red, looking ready to burst. It was the date representing just yesterday.

And floating right below it was the date representing today.

x Month x Day

[Is this the end... I collapsed just one step away from paradise. My children are trying to lift me up, but my body, which hasn't had proper nutrition, let alone proper sleep, for so long, feels as heavy as a thousand pounds...]

The crisis message window began blinking on and off.

It's not like I understand a father's heart or anything, so it was hard to imagine the scene of his children shouting for him to get up, but having grown up watching my father who was always sickly, I found myself cheering for him without realizing it.

But when today's message window, which had been progressing chronologically, suddenly reached the most recent time—after I discovered the stream where the three or four Goblins lived, and right after I pressed the shipment button—a new message window appeared.

x Month x Day x Hour x Minute

[It's a miracle! Just as my consciousness was fading, the sky suddenly split open, and a ray of holy light poured down! And following the faded light, I couldn't believe it! About 20 livestock were lying there! The legend of the forgotten God's Paradise that our ancestors spoke of long ago was true!]

The message windows I saw earlier-

[Someone in another world is bewildered by your gift!]

[Someone in another world is grateful for your grace!]

-were just simple messages like mobile game alerts. The 'Someone from Another World' slot was showing the activities, status, and a brief daily report of the someone I had donated pigs to.

And as I finished checking the message windows, the SD character popped out again with a boing! The seriousness from before seemed to have ended then, as it returned to its cute chibi form and floated a message window before me.

[Hehehe, that's great! Your mercy, Breeder, saved the lives of a family!]

"..."

What should I even say about this... It's right to be happy about it, but it's not like I'm a doctor from a documentary serving refugees in a war-torn battlefield under a hail of bullets from a civil war.

I just moved one finger, and it saved a life, and now it's dancing around saying, 'Praise me!' all by itself, making me feel embarrassed just watching.

[Someone from another world, who narrowly escaped death, is greatly rejoicing over the pigs you sent!]

And at that moment, message windows began flooding my view as if plastered all over. The main content, similar to what was mentioned before, was messages expressing gratitude towards me.

[Someone from another world begins to praise and worship you, Breeder!]

And finally, it even reached the point of worship.

The messages were coming up non-stop, already straining my eyes, and now they were being plastered with overwhelmingly burdensome messages.

"Can't I turn this off somehow?"

[Hmm... How about trying the 'Send' function in the [Someone from Another World interface?]

"Send?"

Scrolling and closing through the diligently rising gratitude messages about me, I soon found the 'Send' function the guy mentioned. I could see a small envelope-shaped icon at the bottom right of the screen with 'Send' written below it.

Impressed by the detail that made it obvious what to send without even asking, I pressed 'Send' firmly. Immediately, a bright blue screen window appeared before my eyes.

[Send your heart to Someone from Another World!]

"..."

Along with a phrase reminiscent of ginseng advertisements during holidays, there was a large blank space, like composing an email online, with a solitary 'Send' icon floating above it.

"...So, if I write here and send it, it gets delivered?"

[Of course! Now, how about trying to send one? You don't even need to write something fancy, just write a simple 'Thank you'!]

"Hmm..."

Thinking this was also a kind of tutorial, I did as it said and wrote a simple 'Thank you' phrase and pressed send. Immediately, with a letter-flying effect, another message flew in front of me.

[Someone from another world is happy to have received a revelation from you, Breeder! Following your words, they intend to stop this incessant stream of thanks, but they are begging for permission to offer prayers of gratitude to you at least three times a day!]

The situation got worse...!
