Ficool

Prologue

"Help! Is there someone out there? I... can't swim... I'm going to die..." He banged his fists against the large container he was trapped in, panic coursing through his veins like ice. His mind was raced, his thoughts consumed by the desperation to survive.

He thought of him, his eyes welling up with tears. He just wanted to live a normal life with him. Was that too much to ask? His body wriggled in the water as he struggled to remain afloat, his lungs burning from the lack of air.

He tugged hard at the ropes used to bind his hands and legs, his skin chafing against the rough fibers.

I couldn't die like this...

I refuse!

But the water was rising, covering his chin, his nose, his mouth... He was being pulled under despite his struggles.

There was no way out. Those people were crazy. I was going to die like this... suffocating, unable to breathe. There was no hope for me. His eyes fluttered open, and he could see them - sixteen ghostly pale faces staring back at him.

He could still hear their screams, shrill and filled with fear, as they begged for their lives. But their pleas weren't heard.

No, their pleas weren't answered.

Those people listened to their pleas, completely indifferent, until they died.

What did we do to deserve this? We were just eight. He felt a foreign feeling take possession of him. Was it anger? No, it was way worse than that. He was seething with rage. They were my family. Those people took them away from me.

What right did they have? What right did they have to touch what belongs to Choi Seo Yun? They had to be punished. He was going to punish them. All have sinned... What they did to them, they'll receive in seven folds.

His hands clenched into fists, his nails digging into his palms. He could hear the faint beeping of a timer, and suddenly, the container opened, the lid sliding back with a loud creak.

It's payback.
