Chapter 3 - Chapter 3 Hold Me

A week after joining the job, Ethan had fully adapted to the rhythm of life in the villa. He not only took perfect order of Ella's daily care but also kept the villa spotless by handling all the housework. Occasionally, he even cooked some American home-style dishes from his hometown, which won high praise from Ella. That night, a heavy rain fell in Los Angeles, accompanied by thunder and lightning. Ethan was organizing documents in the living room when he suddenly heard a dull thud from the second floor. "Ms. White?" He hurried upstairs. In the bedroom, Ella's wheelchair had tipped over, and she was huddled on the carpet, her face pale and cold sweat oozing from her forehead. "What happened?" Ethan quickly knelt down."My ankle... I think I twisted it," Ella bit her lip, her voice tinged with pain. "I tried to get up to grab a book by myself just now and lost my balance."Ethan gently held her ankle and checked it carefully. There was no swelling or deformation, so it should only be a slight sprain. "Shall I help you up?"Ella shook her head, her eyes showing a hint of dependence. "Carry me to the bed."Ethan was stunned for a moment, then reacted. He carefully lifted her up. Ella's body was very light, as soft as cotton, and he could clearly feel her warm breath and soft hair. After gently placing her on the bed, Ethan turned to go get an ice pack, but his wrist was grabbed by Ella. "Don't go," Ella's voice was soft, with a faint trace of vulnerability. "I'm a little scared of thunder."Thunder rumbled outside the window, and lightning lit up her pale face. Ethan's heart softened. He sat down by the bed and said, "I'll stay here with you."Ella closed her eyes, and her body trembled slightly. Ethan hesitated for a moment, then gently patted her back, as if comforting a frightened little cat. At that moment, only the sound of rain and their mutual breathing remained in the room, and a delicate atmosphere permeated between them.
