When they met, Eugene couldn't react right away. It was awkward because he was the one who had distanced himself one-sidedly. Honestly, he was surprised that Elliot still remembered how he looked, despite the ten-year difference.
But Elliot was still the friendly, chill guy that he was; while he wasn't like Claudio, who immediately pounced on Eugene, he approached Eugene even with the lack of response.
"You're Gabriel, right? From high school? Eastville?" the man asked with his signature brilliant smile. Eugene thought it was very expected for this kind of man to work in marketing.
If it were Eugene from a few months ago, he would have denied it and left--his contract was almost over, anyway. But the whole business with Arthur made him promise himself not to run away from an uncomfortable situation anymore, so he decided to be honest.
"Eliott Greene?"
"Oh, so it really is you!" Eliott had laughed. "I don't know you work here."
