Steak with honey, chocolate topped with bolognese omi-pal one sauce, strawberries dripped in melted chocolate, and juicy pomegranates. I hate eating, but god is this food delicious. The meat caused me to jerk, but it was worth it. "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" I stared at the food. The silence of the black empty room itching closer and closer to my heart. The only thing lighting up the room was the candles that drew a whole family of moths. The candle had two plates on the side that were connected by a string, resembling a scale. There were no walls, no details—only me, the table, the food, and the candle sat in this empty abyss.
So I'm guessing the arrow finally worked…where the hell am I? I dropped down and placed my hand on my stomach. "God, I thought I was gonna die." I gagged, before standing straight back up. The sound of the piano quickly rang through my ear, causing me to turn back and see a dead corpse playing one. Its hair consumed all the light in the already dark abyss, yet it kept it short in order to make it seem like she isn't doing it on purpose. Its pale skin shows that it is a mere corpse. Its fragile frame was being hidden by it constantly hiding it with long sleeves, but people could still tell because of its hollow cheeks. It's unnatural purple eyes looked like they couldn't see a thing. It wore a white collar shirt with a french black tie blouse, and black slacks. Stylizing its basic outfit with black oversized sleeves underneath its long sleeved collared shirt.
Every sound was noticeable, the sound of its fingers pressing on the keys and the keys themselves. Repeating, repeating, repeating, AND REPEATING! "STOP IT!" I slammed my first into the ground but it fell into the sludgy abyss. What the hell is going on? Suddenly my other head fell into the abyss too. I sat there on my knees as the sound of footsteps got louder and louder. Looking around I see a girl, a girl, a girl, a…a…girl…This sudden rush of exhaustion consumed my mind as I slowly lost consciousness.
Why me? Why is it always me? I hate it! This world…this world is so fucked up. Every single time I'm about to do something meaningful it breaks it all down. What was the point! WHAT WAS THE POINT OF ANYTHING! WHY WAS I EVEN BORN! RYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! FATHER PLEASE! SAVE ME! HELP ME! The girl grew closer and closer, her hostility scratching at my skin. PLEASE NO! Chains emerged from the abyss and wrapped around my neck and pulled my head down.
The girl stood above me, staring at me groveling in despair. I couldn't speak, only wait. As my death itched closer and closer to reality. She just stood there, readying herself. Waiting for me. Kill me…please…suddenly the chain pulled me into the abyss.
I found myself sitting on a bench staring at the sky. I suddenly jerked up and looked around. "What the hell? I'm back in the regular world?" I stood up and dusted off my butt. I walked around the park, no destination, just a pointless walk with no thought behind it. A crow flew down in front of me and stared at me as I stared back. "What's your name?" I asked. It didn't answer, tilting its head instead. "You want to know my name? My name is…" Suddenly the crow screamed out "CORVIN!" Dumb ass crow, that's not my name.
Suddenly I fell to my knees and tapped my face to feel cracks on it. The crow hopped over to me and tilted its head. "CORVIN!" It kept repeating and repeating, the pressure is making my nose bleed. "CORVIN!" I scratched the concrete causing my pure blood to infect this disgusting world. "CORVIN!" My name… "CORVIN!" Brown hands wrapped around my throat and squeezed as hard as they could.
It was Claire, slowly emerging from the slungy concrete. For the first time, I stared Claire in the eyes and didn't look away. This beautiful girl who decided to save me and provide me safety, one who died because…this wor- She suddenly pulled me down and I kissed her. It wasn't romantic, the idea didn't even cross my mind. It was the kiss of greeting not of intimacy.
I never noticed how beautiful the place I was despairing in was. The black dahlias sang as the wind blew along their petals. The praying mantis prayed to me and Claire as she pulled me into the concrete.
I quietly woke up in a castle with the ambience of an empty warehouse. I slowly stepped off of my bed and looked at the mirror to see visible cracks on my face and white strips in my hair. I slapped my face and turned to put on my clothes. I noticed that there were two beds in my room but maybe it was for decoration. I gripped my hand and looked at its delicate stature, the silent atmosphere giving me just enough air to curl up into a ball and let out a sigh. "Claire, I wish I would've eaten that soup with you."
I stood up and put make up over the cracks and turned around to a woman yawning. "WHO THE HELL ARE YOU!" I yelled. She turned to me with a tired expression and itched her scalp. She was beautiful, her hair was jet black and her eyes shared the same mysterious colors. Her cheeks were full and kinda chubby, but it complimented her round eyes. Even her pajamas were fashionable, she was amazing. Even then she was still a stranger. Actually where the hell am I? "Corvin, what are you doing?" She said while rubbing her eyes.
"Corvin?" I asked. The girl hopped off of the bed and walked up to me. She pressed her hands on my cheeks and stared at me with sorrow. "Corvin, are you okay?" Who the hell is Corvin? And why was I given a boy name? "W-who the hell are you?" The sight of her heart dropping before my very eyes caused my hands to tremble, as I laughed to mask it. "Corvin stop playing, it's me." She said with joyful tears in her eyes. I know no matter what I say it'll cause problems, no point in continuing to ask questions with no viable answers. So I softly placed my hand on her hand and removed it from my cheek. "I'm just tired, I'm gonna go to sleep." I said with a smile. I walked past her and a quiet but bearable "Then what's my name?" cut through the warehouse ambience. "What's your last name?" "Corvin! Answer me!" "I-I…don't know." Pieces of my face began to fall, I tried to catch them. But she caught them before I even could and gently placed them back on my face.
She rubbed me softly and told me to go to sleep. But I didn't want to, I needed to find a way out of here. My past doesn't matter, who is Corvin? How is she viewed? What does she want? I grabbed her by the hands and yelled on the top of my lungs. "NO, I WANT TO LEARN MORE ABOUT MYSELF!" Her tears dripped onto my trembling hands before chuckling. "What's your name?" I asked. "Corbin…" She said. "Corbin…let's go out and have fun! Show me things that I love to do." She wiped her tears before smiling. "Okay."
