Satine received a message from Palpatine, which she then relayed to Kot.
"Kot, has Almec been taken care of?" Satine first asked about Almec.
"He was dealt with long ago, and he confessed everything. He collaborated with Nute Gunray to try and kill me, but both of them were secretly plotting against each other, abandoning contact after using the other, and he even attacked Vadir without authorization," Kot told Satine about Almec's petty schemes.
"Sundari police will take him back shortly, and he will be tried in front of all the people. However, Senator Palpatine of Naboo said he wanted to discuss with you about helping Naboo train pilots," Satine revealed what Palpatine had approached her about earlier.
"What's the compensation?" Kot asked. After all, Palpatine could be considered the biggest boss in the entire Universe right now. His seeking him out surely wasn't for such a small matter; he must want him to lend a hand, or become his apprentice. However, based on these messages, it was clear that Sidious had sent people to rescue Maul.
"He said he would use crystals from Naboo in exchange for training personnel," Satine stated Palpatine's condition.
"Then, at that time, convert all of those into food or other goods and distribute them to the Mandalorian people. Please tell his Cousin that I will arrive on Naboo in three days," Kot thought for a moment before replying.
"Alright."
After the communication ended, Kot prepared to take Anakin, Zeta, and Bo-Katan out to broaden their horizons. After all, the environment on Naboo was far more beautiful than on Mandalore.
At this moment, the adjutant walked in to report that the renovation of Starport One was complete and the Starbase could be tested.
Kot led his people to the former location of Starport One, which had now been transformed into a Starbase. Everyone looked at the colossal structure before them, unable to help but marvel at where their Governor had acquired so much incredible technology.
Kot was also a bit stunned; was this thing a little too big? It could even warp. How many football fields wide must this be!
"The structure before you is called the Starbase. It is currently the most powerful shipyard we can invent. It can simultaneously construct up to two minotaur-class battlecruisers internally, and its construction speed far exceeds that of a normal starport. It can even build other smaller fighter jets while constructing battlecruisers!" The adjutant introduced the colossal structure to everyone.
"This is simply an invincible existence!" a soldier exclaimed.
"This is something that can serve as a frontline base."
"Of course, the Starbase can even warp and is equipped with a shield System. Its interior is entirely automated for warship assembly and production, requiring no manual labor. As a port, it can also berth a huge number of ships, equivalent to a super-large space city!" The adjutant continued to introduce the Starbase.
"Isn't this just a city!"
"Perhaps you'd like to know its output. A viking fighter can be constructed in just two days, and ten can be built simultaneously! A battlecruiser only takes three months to complete construction. However, currently, we can only build one Starbase, as it's too expensive," the adjutant finally explained.
Kot at this point had already thought that his assets might be completely empty, but fortunately, Murto brought over the financial statements and mineral reports.
Kot took a look, and it wasn't too bad. Recently, Death Watch had directly plundered goods from numerous giant corporations, and not just in the Mandalorian Sector, but also in other nearby sectors. After all, the latest vagary frigates and herculean-class transport ship had all been provided to Death Watch. Furthermore, their personnel numbers had grown to as many as three thousand, making the entire Zambar System a completely impregnable fortress.
And the Starport in the Zambar System was still constructing Death Watch's behemoth-class battlecruisers and minotaur-class battlecruisers, though no matter how many were built, they all still belonged to Kot's personal fleet.
But he still had two and a half billion in foreign debt! He had to scam the Trade Federation and the Technology Alliance for more. Anyway, Mandalore could basically achieve a self-sufficient state now, so he didn't need to worry about anyone else. He would ruthlessly exploit them, taking back the blood they had sucked from the Outer Rim people!
After the introduction of the Starbase was complete, construction of a behemoth-class battlecruiser began inside the base. Kot watched from behind a glass panel inside, as mechanical arms rapidly carried out the construction, at least twice as fast as a starport, and two could be built at once!
But at this moment, the adjutant led Kot into a laboratory, where there were many cultivation tanks.
"What is this?" Kot asked, puzzled.
"Commander, this is the Clone technology you asked me to study on Kamino. However, our current data is not very extensive, and the Terran Empire has not carried out large-scale human Clone projects. But I previously loaded Dr. Stettmann's personality model and directly began studying, so now there's a small Clone laboratory set up in the Starbase," the adjutant reported to Kot.
"Dr. Stettmann? That sounds familiar. Isn't he the one who developed the Mechanical Zerg!" Kot recalled that the creator of the Mechanical Zerg in the co-op mode was Egon Stettmann!
"Hmm... investigating. According to my memory, Dr. Stettmann created the Mechanical Swarm and gained psionic abilities to control the swarm, but due to consuming Terrazine, he was not mentally stable, and the Mechanical Swarm was developed on top of this," the adjutant investigated the things in his memory.
"Then, can the Mechanical Swarm be created?" Kot asked another question that would be very costly.
"If Commander wishes to acquire the Mechanical Swarm, I would need to deconstruct Dr. Stettmann's memories to help Commander obtain the Mechanical Swarm. However, currently, the Clone issue has not yet been resolved, and bringing up this one might truly overload the System," the adjutant replied to Kot's question.
"Alright, then let's solve the Clone problem first." Kot was also a bit disappointed about this. It was truly too difficult for the adjutant alone to do so many things, and his side didn't have anyone with a scientific research inclination or talent; they were practically idiots in that regard, at most able to repair spaceships.
"Currently, we plan to start with cloning animals. Once we can mass-Clone animals without them rapidly aging and dying, we will begin deconstructing and modifying animal genes. After that is complete, we will begin human Clone experiments," Kot roughly understood what the adjutant was saying.
"Go for it, Adjutant! I believe with you and those Genius, there will absolutely be no problem!" Kot couldn't do much else but encourage him, but the seed of finding other scientists to work for him had already been planted in Kot's heart.
Meanwhile, on Naboo, Korian Vos had already arrived before his Master, Sidious, to report on Jabiim and the Trade Federation.
"Very good. Your next task is to take the position of Senator in the Republic Council. Gunray will help you," Sidious had already decided Korian Vos's future.
"Yes, Master, I will replace Maul as your pawn!
