"No, I want you to admit that I'm the better dancer. And... you have to watch that new horror movie with me." His eyes gleam mischievously, knowing how Giyuu feels about scary films. "And no hiding under the blanket this time." Giyuu groans dramatically, knowing he's already lost. "You're evil. Fine, I'll watch your horror movie. But you have to hold Mochi during the scary parts." He extends his hand across the table. "Deal?" Sanemi shakes Giyuu's hand with a triumphant grin.
"Deal. And don't worry, I'll protect you from the ghosts while Mochi protects me from your screams." He winks playfully, already imagining Giyuu's reaction to the film. "This is going to be fun." Giyuu gives Sanemi a mock glare, though there's no real heat behind it. "You're enjoying this way too much. Just remember, I'm the one who makes your favorite meals." He finishes his tea and stands up, stretching.
"Now if you'll excuse me, I need to mentally prepare myself for tomorrow's horror show." Sanemi chuckles as he watches Giyuu's dramatic exit. "You're the one who agreed to it! And I promise to be extra cuddly during the scary parts." He picks up Mochi, who meows contentedly in his arms. "Right, Mochi? We'll keep him safe." Mochi purrs in agreement, nuzzling against Sanemi's chest as he stands up.
"See? Even she thinks you're being dramatic. Now go get ready for bed, scaredy-cat." He heads toward their shared bedroom, still carrying the cat. "And don't forget to brush your teeth - wouldn't want you to scream right in my ear." Sanemi settles onto his bed, setting Mochi down beside him. "You know, Giyuu," he calls out through the slightly open door, "I'll even let you hold my hand during the scary parts."
His voice carries a teasing lilt, knowing how flustered Giyuu gets, when they hold hands. "Remember back than when we watched a horror movie and you scream the shit out of you? After it I topped you in bed." Sanemi nearly chokes on his own breath, caught off guard by Giyuu's sudden boldness. "O-oi! Don't bring that up now!" His face flushes red as he sits up straight, Mochi looking between them curiously.
"And I wasn't screaming, I was... expressing my artistic interpretation of fear." Giyuu looks at him with a knowing smirk, leaning against the door frame. "It was three months ago. Don't act like you was a small kid back than." Sanemi crosses his arms defensively, trying to regain his composure. "Three months is a long time! I've improved my horror movie watching skills since then."
He fidgets with Mochi's fur, avoiding Giyuu's gaze. "Besides, you promised not to bring that up again. It was embarrassing enough the first time." Sanemi tosses a pillow in Giyuu's direction, though it lands harmlessly on the floor. "You're such a jerk sometimes. Just for that, I'm making you watch the extra scary version tomorrow." He grumbles, but there's a hint of amusement in his voice.
"And maybe I'll remind you of that night too." As Sanemi tries to threaten Giyuu, Mochi jumps onto the pillow and curls up, purring softly. "Look what you did - you disturbed our cat's peaceful evening." He reaches over to pet Mochi, still pretending to be annoyed but failing to hide his smile. "Maybe I should just make you watch a whole marathon of horror movies as punishment." Sanemi changes into his comfortable sleeping clothes while Giyuu brushes his teeth.
"Don't forget to actually brush properly this time. I can hear you mumbling through the walls." He climbs into bed, making sure to leave enough space for Mochi to join him later. "And don't think I won't know if you sneak any midnight snacks. I'm a light sleeper." Sanemi feels the bed dip as Giyuu settles in, trying to maintain his stern expression despite the familiar warmth.
"You better not hog all the blankets again," he mutters, though he doesn't move away. Mochi jumps between them, purring contentedly as she finds her spot. "And no funny business. We have an early morning tomorrow." Sanemi reaches over to scratch Mochi's ears, his fingers accidentally brushing against Giyuu's arm.
"Stop moving around so much," he complains, though his voice is softer now. The room falls into a comfortable silence, broken only by Mochi's contented purring and the distant sounds of the city outside. Sanemi stares at the ceiling, hyper-aware of Giyuu's presence beside him. "You know... the cat's not the only one who gets cuddly when it's dark." He says it so quietly that it's almost inaudible, his usual tough demeanor cracking slightly.
Sanemi quickly adds, trying to play off his moment of vulnerability. "Not that I'm suggesting anything! I'm just saying... it's warmer if we don't have the blankets stretched out everywhere." He turns onto his side, facing away from Giyuu, his ears slightly pink in the dim light. The two roommates lie in comfortable silence, sharing the warmth of their close proximity.
Mochi shifts between them, eventually settling on Giyuu's chest while Sanemi pretends to be asleep, though his heart is beating faster than usual. Despite their usual bickering, there's an undeniable peace in their shared space as night falls. The morning sun streams through the window, casting a warm glow across the room. Sanemi stirs first, finding himself having migrated closer to Giyuu during the night. He quickly pulls back, pretending to be stretching when he realizes how close they are.
"Morning," he mumbles gruffly, trying to sound normal despite his flustered state. "Time to wake up and face the horror movie." After breakfast, Sanemi sets up the horror movie in their living room, making sure to dim the lights for maximum effect. "I hope you're ready, Giyuu. This one has jumpscares that will make you jump right out of your skin."
