Chapter 67 - Misunderstanding

"Unless you're scared of what I might do if you're not distracted by that book." Sanemi's lips meet Giyuu's in a tender kiss, his fingers threading through his dark hair. "Finally..." he murmurs against Giyuu's mouth, pulling him closer. The kiss deepens slowly, Sanemi savoring every moment as their bodies press together. "You taste better than any victory in a game." Giyuu melts into the kiss, his hands finding their way to Sanemi's shoulders.

"You're such a romantic when you're not being annoying." He pulls back slightly, resting his forehead against Sanemi's, their breaths mingling. "And you're surprisingly gentle for someone who acts so rough all the time." Sanemi runs his thumb along Giyuu's jawline, his eyes dark with affection. "Only for you, Giyuu. Only ever for you." He presses another soft kiss to Giyuu's lips, then trails kisses down his neck.

"I might be rough with everyone else, but you... you deserve all my gentleness." The two spent the rest of the night in each other's arms, the book forgotten on the nightstand. Sanemi showed Giyuu just how much he cared through gentle touches and whispered words, creating a perfect moment between them. Mochi eventually returned to curl up at their feet, purring contentedly as the moonlight streamed through the window.

As dawn approached, Sanemi held Giyuu even closer, his breathing becoming deeper and more relaxed. "I could stay like this forever," he murmured drowsily. The peaceful atmosphere was only broken by Mochi's soft meows, reminding them both that morning was coming. Sanemi groaned at the sound of Mochi, burying his face in Giyuu's chest. "Five more minutes. Just five more minutes with you." He reluctantly opened one eye to glance at the clock, knowing their peaceful night was about to end.

"But we have training soon... and I still need to beat your ass at sword practice today." Sanemi chuckles softly at Giyuu's sleeping face, gently brushing a strand of hair from his eyes. "Always falling asleep when I'm trying to be romantic." He pulls the blanket over both of them, deciding to let Giyuu rest a little longer. "I'll let you sleep, but only because you look so peaceful right now." Sanemi stays awake, watching over Giyuu protectively while absently playing with his hair.

"You're lucky I'm such a good boyfriend," he whispers, though there's no one around to hear his admission. The morning sun slowly brightens the room, casting a warm glow over their peaceful scene. The peaceful moment is interrupted by the sound of Sanemi's phone buzzing with messages from their friends. He reluctantly reaches for it, still keeping one arm around Giyuu's sleeping form.

"Damn it, Genya keeps spamming me about basketball practice." Sanemi types out a quick response while keeping his voice low. "Yeah, yeah, I'm coming. Just give me a minute." He glances at Giyuu, who's still peacefully asleep, and sighs. "Giyuu... hey, wake up. We've got school soon." Giyuu stirs slightly but doesn't wake, instead turning his face into Sanemi's chest. "Come on, sleepyhead. You're usually the responsible one." Sanemi gently shakes Giyuu's shoulder, trying not to be too rough.

"If you don't get up now, I'm gonna steal your favorite hoodie." Giyuu's eyes flutter open, and he glares sleepily at Sanemi. "You wouldn't dare..." He reaches under the pillow, searching for his hoodie protectively. "And I'm not going to school today. I'm sick." Sanemi raises an eyebrow skeptically, noticing Giyuu's usual morning grumpiness. "Sick? Really? You look perfectly fine to me." He places a hand on Giyuu's forehead, pretending to check for fever.

"Besides, you never miss school. Even when you're dying." Giyuu coughs and Sanemi immediately pulls his hand back, concern replacing his teasing expression. "Okay, that cough sounds real. But I'm not letting you skip just because you're tired." He stands up and starts getting dressed, keeping an eye on Giyuu. "I'll make you some tea and breakfast. Then we're both going to school." Sanemi moves to the kitchen, brewing a pot of ginger tea while occasionally glancing back at Giyuu.

"Don't think I won't carry you if I have to." He returns with a steaming cup and a plate of toast. "Drink this. And eat. You're not getting out of going to class that easily." Sanemi's expression softens as he sees Giyuu's pale face and dark circles under his eyes.

"Hey... are you really okay? You look like you haven't slept in days." He sits back down on the bed, setting the food aside.

"Maybe I should stay home with you after all. The team can manage without me for one practice." Giyuu tries to protest, but another coughing fit interrupts him. "No, you have your basketball game tomorrow. I'll be fine... probably just need some rest." He attempts to sit up, but his body feels heavy and weak. "Just... maybe you could help me get to the nurse's office?" Sanemi immediately moves to support Giyuu, wrapping an arm around his waist.

"Yeah, I'll help you. But if you think I'm leaving you alone after that, you're wrong." He carefully helps Giyuu stand up, keeping a firm grip. As they reach the nurse's office, Sanemi gently knocks on the door.

"Hey, Giyuu needs help. He's really sick." The nurse quickly ushers them in, taking one look at Giyuu's pale face. "You definitely shouldn't be here. Let me check his temperature." Sanemi quickly dials the taxi service, his voice firm and determined. "Yes, we need a ride to the nearest hospital. Right now. My boyfriend's really sick." He helps Giyuu sit down while waiting for the response.

"Don't worry about anything. I'll handle everything. Just try to stay awake, okay?" The taxi arrives within minutes, and Sanemi helps Giyuu into the backseat. "Hold on tight. We'll be there soon." He gives the driver the hospital address and then sits close to Giyuu, holding his hand. "Just breathe. I won't let anything happen to you."During the ride, Giyuu's condition worsens, and he starts shivering uncontrollably.

"Sanemi... I'm cold..."

Sanemi immediately pulls off his own jacket and wraps it around Giyuu. "Here, take this. And don't you dare pass out on me." He rubs Giyuu's arms to generate warmth, his face showing clear concern. The taxi driver glances back worriedly at Giyuu's state. "He looks pretty bad. We're almost there, kid." Sanemi nods tersely, his focus solely on Giyuu.

"Just a few more minutes. You're doing great, Giyuu. Just hold on." The taxi pulls up to the hospital entrance, and Sanemi quickly pays the fare. "Stay with me. I'm going to carry you in." He carefully lifts Giyuu into his arms, ignoring the pain in his own muscles. "Help! We need help here!" Nurses rush over with a wheelchair, and Sanemi reluctantly sets Giyuu down in it.

"He's been running a fever, coughing, and having trouble breathing. Please help him." His voice cracks slightly with worry as they wheel Giyuu away. "I'm coming with you. Don't try to stop me." The nurses nod, understanding the situation. "Follow us to the emergency room. The doctor will need to examine him." Sanemi stays right beside Giyuu's wheelchair, holding his hand again.

"I'm right here. I'm not going anywhere."*The doctor arrives and starts examining Giyuu, asking Sanemi questions about his symptoms. "Has he been sick recently? Any changes in his eating habits or sleeping patterns?"

Sanemi answers quickly and accurately, his protective nature fully on display.

"He's been really tired lately and hasn't been eating well. Yesterday he complained about a sore throat." The doctor checks Giyuu's vitals and orders some tests. "We'll need to keep him overnight for observation. It looks like he might have a severe case of influenza." Sanemi's grip on Giyuu's hand tightens, his jaw clenched. "Can I stay with him? He shouldn't be alone." The doctor nods understandingly.

"You can stay in the room with him. Just follow the nurses' instructions and try to get some rest yourself." Sanemi breathes a small sigh of relief, though his expression remains serious. "Thank you. I'll make sure he gets better." The nurses transfer Giyuu to a hospital bed in a private room. "He'll be comfortable here. We'll start his IV medication soon."Sanemi pulls a chair right next to Giyuu's bed.
