Chapter 62 - Misunderstanding

Sanemi finally manages to regain his composure, though his cheeks are still slightly flushed. "You're impossible, you know that? First the cat pancake, now this..." He tries to sound annoyed but there's a hint of a smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. Mochi lets out a satisfied meow, as if approving of the situation, and nudges her head against Sanemi's arm.

"And don't think I'm going to forget about that photo either." Giyuu sits down across from Sanemi, casually pouring syrup on his own pancakes. "Oh, I know. But I'm keeping it as my phone background. It's too cute to delete." He takes a bite of his breakfast, maintaining eye contact with Sanemi who's still blushing. "Plus, I need something to show our future children someday."

Mochi hops onto Sanemi's lap, making herself comfortable and demanding more attention while purring loudly. Sanemi's mouth literally falls open in shock, his fork clattering onto his plate. "Our WHAT?! Who said anything about- I- we're not-" He sputters incoherently, completely flustered by Giyuu's casual mention of children.

Mochi takes advantage of his distracted state and begins grooming herself on his lap, completely unbothered by the chaos she's caused. "You can't just drop bombshells like that while I'm eating!" Giyuu's eyes sparkle with amusement as he watches Sanemi's reaction. "What's wrong? You look like you've seen a ghost." He reaches across the table to steal a bite of Sanemi's pancake, completely unfazed by the emotional turmoil he's caused.

"I was just kidding... mostly." Mochi purrs louder, enjoying the tension in the air as Sanemi tries to process everything. Sanemi narrows his eyes suspiciously, pointing an accusatory finger at Giyuu.

"That wasn't funny. And stop stealing my food!" He pulls his plate closer protectively, still visibly flustered but trying to regain his composure. "You're lucky I like you, or I'd throw this cat out the window right now." Mochi looks up at him with innocent eyes, completely oblivious to the threat. Sanemi glances at the clock and curses under his breath.

"Shit! We're going to be late again because of you two." He quickly shoves the rest of his breakfast into his mouth, accidentally getting syrup on his chin. "And I haven't even changed yet!" Mochi seems completely unconcerned with their schedule, continuing to knead Sanemi's lap like she has all the time in the world. Sanemi stands up abruptly, causing Mochi to jump off his lap with an indignant meow.

"I'm going to get dressed. And you-" He points at Giyuu again, who's still eating leisurely. "-are going to stop distracting me and hurry up too!" He dashes to his room, nearly tripping over his own feet in his rush. Giyuu finishes his pancakes at a leisurely pace, completely ignoring Sanemi's panic. "Take your time! It's not like we're going to miss the most important class of the day."

He starts gathering his school materials, still moving at a relaxed pace while Mochi winds between his legs. Sanemi's frustrated shouts can be heard from his room as he struggles to get ready quickly. Sanemi bursts out of his room in record time, wearing his uniform backwards and hair still wet. "Giyuu, I swear- wait, is that my shirt?" He notices Giyuu wearing one of his favorite black t-shirts instead of his school uniform.

"Give me that! We're going to be late because you're stealing my clothes now too!" He rushes over, trying to pull the shirt off Giyuu while the latter laughs. Giyuu holds onto the shirt playfully, dodging Sanemi's attempts to grab it. "What's the rush? You look cute in your backwards uniform anyway." He finally lets go of the shirt, but only after giving Sanemi a quick peck on the cheek.

"And I'm wearing it because it smells like you." Sanemi freezes again, completely flustered by Giyuu's shameless flirting and sweet gesture. "You're impossible! Absolutely impossible!" Giyuu grabs his bag and heads for the door, still wearing Sanemi's shirt. "And you love it. Now come on, we're already five minutes late." He opens the door, gesturing for Sanemi to hurry up while Mochi sits by the door expectantly.

"The professor's going to kill us both if we're not there in the next five minutes." The sound of hurried footsteps and a cat meowing fills the apartment as they prepare to leave. Sanemi grabs his own bag and quickly fixes his uniform, muttering under his breath. "I'm going to fail this class because of you, and it's all your fault." He rushes out the door, nearly forgetting his keys in the process. "And I'm taking my shirt back tonight!"

Mochi trots alongside them, seemingly amused by their chaotic morning routine. In Sanemi's hair stick a gummybear. But he doesn't notice the gummybear until Giyuu points it out while walking. "You've got something... stuck in your hair." He reaches up to touch his head, fingers brushing against the candy. "What the-? Is this a gummybear? How did it even get there?" He tries to pull it out but it's tangled in his hair, making him look even more disheveled than before.

"This is ridiculous! Everything is going wrong today!" Giyuu stifles a laugh, watching Sanemi struggle with the gummybear. "Hold still, let me help you with that." He reaches up and carefully untangles the candy from Sanemi's hair, trying not to mess it up more.

"How did you even manage to eat gummybears and not notice one got stuck? That's some talent." Sanemi grumbles as Giyuu successfully removes the gummybear. "I didn't eat any gummybears! This is clearly another one of your pranks!" Giyuu holds up the gummybear triumphantly, a mischievous grin spreading across his face. "Well, it's not mine. But I must admit, it's hilarious seeing you all flustered like this."
