Chapter 59 - Mochi

"But I think she'll look adorable in it anyway." Mitsuri gently tries to put the sweater on Mochi, who initially resists but eventually allows it, surprisingly. "See? She's a natural model!" Mitsuri beams, taking several pictures with her phone. Giyuu shakes his head with a smile. "You're going to spoil her rotten, aren't you?" Sanemi grins and watches as Mochi starts batting at the heart charms on her sweater.

"Can you blame us? Look how cute she is!" Mitsuri sits cross-legged on the floor, completely enamored with Mochi's antics. "I brought some other things too - a scratching post and a little cat bed. They're in my car." Giyuu raises an eyebrow. "You really came prepared, didn't you?" Sanemi looks at his watch and frowns.

"We should probably hide her again before someone else comes by." Mitsuri pouts but nods in agreement, helping them clean up the evidence of their visit. As they pack away the cat supplies, Mochi reluctantly returns to her hiding spot, though not before giving Mitsuri one last judgmental look. "She's judging you," Sanemi teases Mitsuri, who giggles and waves goodbye to the closet. "Bye Mochi! We'll visit again soon!" Giyuu closes the closet door with a sigh.

"We need to be more careful. Mitsuri's visits are going to be harder to explain if we get caught." Sanemi runs a hand through his hair, looking thoughtful. "Maybe we should start rotating visitors. Have them come at different times and not stay too long." He glances at the clock again, then at Giyuu. "And we need to figure out how to make this more sustainable. Mochi can't live in a closet forever." Giyuu nods in agreement, already thinking about possible solutions.

"We'll need a better plan soon. Maybe we could ask Obanai for help - he's good with animals." Sanemi considers this for a moment, then nods slowly. "Obanai knows how to keep secrets. Plus, he's got that weird snake obsession - maybe he'll understand our situation." He pulls out his phone and starts typing a message. "I'll text him. But first, let's get some food. I'm starving and Mochi's probably hungry too."

Giyuu checks the time and realizes it's already past dinner. "Good idea. Let's order something quick and figure out our next steps." They settle down to order food, keeping their voices low so as not to disturb Mochi. "What should we get for dinner? Something quick and easy to eat," Giyuu suggests, scrolling through delivery options. Sanemi leans over to look at the screen.

"How about those gyudon bowls? They're filling and easy to eat in bed." He glances at the closet with a slight smile. "And maybe we can sneak some chicken for our little prisoner." Giyuu nods and places the order, adding some extra chicken for Mochi. "I'll make sure to get enough for her. She's probably used to street food anyway." Sanemi stretches out on his bed, looking exhausted but content. "This cat situation is turning into quite the adventure, isn't it?"

The sound of Mochi scratching at the closet door confirms his words. Giyuu gets up to check on Mochi, opening the closet just enough to slide some chicken through. "Here you go, princess. Sorry you have to stay in there." Mochi immediately starts devouring the chicken, making happy little purring sounds. "She forgives us for now," Sanemi jokes, watching with amusement. "But she's definitely going to demand better accommodations soon." Giyuu closes the closet again and returns to his spot beside Sanemi.

"We'll figure something out. Maybe we can find a bigger hiding spot or... I don't know, convince the RA to let us keep her as a therapy cat?" Sanemi laughs at the suggestion. "Yeah, because nothing says 'therapy' like a stray cat living in our closet." Their food arrives, and they dig in while discussing potential solutions for Mochi's situation. Giyuu settles onto Sanemi's lap comfortably, continuing to eat his gyudon. "This is nice," he murmurs, leaning back against Sanemi's chest.

"Even if we're technically harboring a fugitive cat." Sanemi wraps an arm around Giyuu's waist, keeping him steady while balancing his bowl in one hand. "You're just using me as a chair because I'm taller than you," he teases, but doesn't make any move to push Giyuu away. Giyuu playfully nudges Sanemi with his elbow. "Maybe. Or maybe I just like being close to you." He takes another bite of his food, enjoying the comfortable atmosphere.

"Plus, it's warmer this way. The dorm gets so cold at night." Sanemi rolls his eyes but pulls Giyuu closer anyway, sharing his body heat. "You're lucky you're cute. And that you don't hog all the blankets like Mochi probably would." Giyuu smiles and rests his head on Sanemi's shoulder, watching as Mochi continues to eat in the closet. "We should probably clean up soon. It's getting late." Sanemi finishes his food and sets the bowl aside, wrapping both arms around Giyuu now.

"Five more minutes. The dishes can wait."

He presses a gentle kiss to Giyuu's temple, content to stay in this moment. Sanemi looks over at his bed and groans. "Mochi! Get off my bed! That's my space." The cat, completely ignoring him, stretches out luxuriously across his sheets, making herself comfortable. "She's already claimed your territory," Giyuu observes with a smirk. "Looks like you're sharing with both of us now." Sanemi sighs dramatically but doesn't make any move to remove Mochi.

"Great. First I get a cat roommate, now I'm sharing my bed with two furry creatures." Giyuu chuckles and shifts slightly on Sanemi's lap. "At least she's cute. And technically, I'm not furry." Sanemi gives him a skeptical look. "You're both troublemakers. And speaking of trouble..." He nods toward the closet where Mochi has started kneading his pillow with her claws.

"She's destroying my stuff already." Giyuu glances at the pillow, trying to suppress his laughter.

"I think she's marking her territory now. Better get used to it, Sanemi." Sanemi groans again and tightens his hold on Giyuu. "This is what I get for being nice. First you, now Mochi. I should have stayed in the demon slayer corps where cats couldn't judge me." Giyuu turns his head to look at Sanemi with a mischievous glint in his eyes. "But then you wouldn't have me. Or our furry little problem solver here." He gestures toward Mochi, who has now claimed the entire bed and is giving them both a satisfied look.

"Besides, I thought you liked challenges." Sanemi sighs, but there's a hint of fondness in his expression as he watches the cat make herself comfortable. "I do. But maybe next time I'll pick a challenge that doesn't shed on my bed." Mochi lets out a contented purr and curls up into a ball, clearly planning to stay put. "Too late for that," Giyuu says, patting Sanemi's chest. "Looks like you're stuck with us both." Sanemi shakes his head but can't hide his smile.
