Chapter 14 - CHAPTER 14 - HARD CORE

Hailey opened the floor. A casting from the laptop displayed a video of graphics and charts. Hailey watered the words to everyone's understanding, eyes stuck to the screen.

"The market has been flooded with a lot. With commercial and branding, it becomes a top talk. Why can't we achieve that?" Hailey elaborated.

"We have always been in the market, making the possibility," a man said.

"Farm food behind our own yard, expected income comes back massive. It has been between the community, no extension and expansion. We feed through what the community offers," Hailey enlightened.

"The product filled in and has replaced a lot," the second man said.

"Because it's the same taste. It's rather cheap than unique. Every bar and club gets it cheap, with recognition," Hailey educated, smiling as she demonstrated on the screen.

"We make sales and profit," Beatrice claimed.

"We only feed what the community gives us, no extension." She inhaled deeply. "We have publicity, streaming marketing strategies, and yet we are out of update. Special to none, we can carve for our own taste, stickle the world with our own presence, emerge in unique and salubrious." Hailey enchained every being in the room's mind.

"You have something to show us," the third guy said.

"I'm having a chat with the production department. All we need is all it takes, every resource available when needed."

"The ideas are really good. You're driving in something, but to pull such resources is a lot," the fourth man lamented, dropping his jaw on his fist.

"We're giving it a try," Beatrice affirmed.

"Mrs. Willow, we will be pulling a lot of resources," a lady said.

"Mrs. Beatrice, millions will be pushed for this project," Lawrence exclaimed.

"Give it a try, Lawrence. If we go bankrupt, Hailey promises a paycheck." She smiled at Hailey. Hailey looked puzzled and confused.

"If Mrs. Willow said we should try it, then we will. I have a strong feeling we are building something," the fifth man exclaimed.

"I would love to see what Miss Dean has in the box for us," the second man said, smiling as he referred to Hailey.

"Thank you, sir, for this," Hailey tactfully giggled.

...…

A week later

"We trust you," Beatrice said, consoling Hailey. She walked to her and sat on a curved soft fabric. A system was placed on a wooden table in sight.

"I'm kind of scared. A lot has been shoved into this project. What if it doesn't?" Hailey panicked. Beatrice paused her with a finger placed between her lips.

"I wasn't in doubt when we started investing in this project. If you fall, you have your head to pay," Beatrice said, smiling as she placed her two hands on her shoulders. "Every step you take, I stand beside you. Whatever comes out, we all face it," she said comfortingly.

She moved her face to face hers. "Thank you for your trust. I promise I'm making it out with every resource given," Hailey vowed.

"I don't play with my money, but I love you more." She kissed her lips. "Get in bed," she said, walking to the bed.

"Learn to separate work from romance." Hailey placed her head on the sofa she sat on, turning to face her, smiling.

"Using my words against me." She placed her jaw on her shoulder. Hailey glanced at her, grinning.

"I learn from the best," Hailey lamented.

"I will let you do your thing. At this point, all you need is some sugar. When you are done, come meet me." She kissed her lips and walked back to the bed.

"Take your time. Dream about me. Sweet dreams."

"Take a break when necessary," she said, reclining and covering herself with the duvet.

...…

Four months later

In Beatrice's office, a man sat restlessly on the office chair. Beatrice sat comfortably on her master chair.

"What is going on, Beatrice?" he asked furiously.

"Relax, Mr. Hooper. Hailey is a smart kid," she said calmly and comfortingly.

"Mrs. Willow, it's a month now. She hasn't given any hint, or does she have any idea what she's doing?" Hooper yelled.

"Did you say pull?" She waited for a response. "We still have a lot, so we wait and see what she has," she said calmly.

"Mrs. Willow, we can't continue spilling. We have to cut off the wheel before it's too late."

"I trust Hailey, and you should trust me. She's not going to falter. Hailey knows what she's doing."

"Mrs. Willow, I will be announcing an urgent meeting. We are cracking this wall." He stood, spinning with so much gravity.

"Mr. Hooper, please give it time. Trust me. If this goes wrong, let me get all of it," she pleaded.

"Beatrice, I will be watching. I will wait," Hooper vowed, his eyes deep and reddish.

"I appreciate it. Thank you." Beatrice stood and exchanged a handshake. Hooper left. She settled, her breath shaking, gazing at the window.

...

In the lounge, Beatrice reclined on the bed while Hailey wandered around, trembling.

"I'm trying. I marked more expenses on marketing. It's failing me," she wailed. "Babe, I'm pushing. It's failing me," she said, breaking into tears as they crowded her eyes.

"I know. I'm seeing it. Just give it time. The first time is not always the best attempt," she said, picking her words.

"Why are you so calm? This involves you as a whole. You have put so many resources into this, and you speak firmly," Hailey said, rotten deep inside as tears couldn't resist.

"You have had countless sleepless nights, striving. I won't discard that. I see it. You want it, and you are pushing harder than you can." Beatrice walked to her and embraced her.

"I'm scared, so scared. I can't watch you hurt. I'm so sorry," she said, sobbing, her two hands on her face.

"Hailey, stop. We are making it work. We keep trying. Trust yourself," she said, gazing into her eyes.

"No, I have ruined everything. You built it, and I'm shattering everything. The market is sloppy. We are peeling off the market." Hailey stammered, placing her head on Beatrice's shoulder, weeping.

"Now we're going to sit side by side and work it out." She walked Hailey to the table. She sat, and Hailey sat down too. Beatrice merged their fingers, intercrossing them. Hailey stared at her with so much pity. Beatrice looked at the screen.

"We'll try it again with a new pattern." Beatrice scrolled from one document to another. Hailey punched hard on the system while Beatrice read out the words, as Hailey ran her fingers over the figures on the system.
