'Sh-she... RAN AWAY!'
Kaida just sat there.
One minute had passed. Maybe less. Maybe more. Time felt strange when her mind was this scrambled.
The room was empty now except for her and Viktor. The naked bastard was sitting a few feet away, his arms folded across his chest as he stared at her with those dark eyes that seemed to pierce right through her skull.
The door had closed behind Mira and Helena not even sixty seconds ago. Kaida could still hear their footsteps fading down the hallway—Mira's uneven stumbling gait supported by Helena's steadier pace.
Both ran away as if they had achieved what they wanted.
Kaida's hands trembled as she brought them up to her face, clasping her cheeks as the realization finally crashed into her like a boulder.
"M-Mira, s-she just set me up," she whispered, her voice hollow with disbelief.
