"The Culled is my failure. I take responsibility for that but the solution isn't to repeat the mistakes of the past. It is to build a system that can differentiate between people who choose violence and people who just want to live peacefully."
She turned towards Raziel.
"Which is why I'm proposing we create a hybrid security force, trained specifically to identify and stop extremists within our own communities."
Raziel was surprised. They hadn't discussed this. She was improvising, and he wasn't sure if it was brilliant or disastrous. But Darius was nodding.
"A hybrid security force, led by whom?" He asked.
"By me, in the beginning but with civilian oversight from the hybrid council and transparency protocols that will allow every kingdom to review our actions." Nyx looked at him. "You want us to police ourselves? Fine. Give us the authority to do so."
Darius considered her suggestion.
