Chapter 56 - Chapter 56: Snape: Exemption?

Audrey woke up amidst Galleons. She grabbed a handful of gold coins and lifted them up, watching the shining golden discs slip through her fingers and fall onto the bed with a clatter.

Let a wonderful day begin by being submerged in Galleons!

This morning was Potions class. Audrey made up her mind: she must obtain an exemption qualification from her own Head of House!

Thinking this, Audrey sat up, full of motivation.

A moment of effort was for long-term ease!

"Momo!"

"Crack!"

The house-elf appeared in front of Audrey. "Little Master, what would you like to eat this morning?"

Audrey thought for a moment. "Some potstickers. If there are egg-filled pancakes, that would be even better!"

"Knock, knock."

There was a knock on the door. Audrey went to open it, and Isaline hopped in.

"Audrey!"

Audrey was a bit speechless. When they first met a week ago, this girl gave the impression of a noble young lady who paid great attention to etiquette.

But after getting familiar with her, she discovered that was all a disguise. This girl actually had such a lively personality!

"Ah, a house-elf!"

Isaline looked over Audrey's shoulder and saw Momo, instantly surprised. "Audrey, aren't you a Muggle-born witch? Why is there a house-elf in your room?"

Momo had actually wanted to leave, but he hadn't expected Isaline to hop in, so he was caught red-handed.

Scared, Momo gave a French military salute, momentarily unsure of what to do, his big round eyes darting around.

Audrey smiled. "I never said I was born in a Muggle family."

Ignoring Isaline's probing gaze, Audrey pushed her out, turning back to say to Momo, "Make two portions of what I just ordered. Let Isaline taste them too!"

Audrey had long figured out that Isaline was a foodie.

To silence her, nothing was more effective than treating her to good food.

Don't you see that this friend was coaxed by Audrey with two crayfish?

...

As soon as she left the common room, Audrey was surrounded by ghosts again.

"Gentlemen, ladies," Audrey sighed. "If you keep this up, I'm going to apply to drop out."

The Fat Friar immediately chimed in, "Right, right, right, we can't cause trouble for Miss Astley. Nick, I'm talking to you! Stay further away from the young lady!"

Audrey looked at the ghosts who had moved from one meter to one and a half meters away and felt a wave of powerlessness.

Was there no way to deal with them?

Right, the Basilisk!

The gaze of a Basilisk could petrify ghosts!

Audrey, who originally hated going to the Chamber of Secrets, was immediately motivated.

However... the motivation only lasted for two seconds.

'Hmm, forget it. It's really too disgusting there...'

However, if a Basilisk could counter ghosts, there was no reason why none of the many magical creature constitutions she possessed would work!

Fire Dragon? She didn't know if dragon breath worked on ghosts, but even if it did, she couldn't go around spraying fire in the castle, right?

House-elf obviously didn't work.

Niffler, Acromantula, Occamy, Demiguise, Runespoor...

Unicorn?

Unicorn!

Ghosts were the remnants of wizards who were unwilling to return to death, existing between life and death, considered unclean by people; while unicorns represented life, and were even universally recognized as symbols of holiness.

The image of moonlight shining on Heidi last night surfaced, that sacred feeling...

How about giving it a try?

No sooner said than done. Audrey switched to the Unicorn constitution.

The next moment, the ghosts exploded in chaos.

"Ah, what is this?"

"This disgusting aura!"

"No!! I feel like I'm dying!"

The ghosts scattered in all directions, and the surrounding temperature instantly rose.

Audrey squinted her eyes happily. If she had known this thing worked, she would have gone to the Forbidden Forest on the first day of school!

Happily rushing to the Great Hall with Isaline, the young wizards who were used to many ghosts following Audrey were suddenly a bit unaccustomed.

"Why aren't the ghosts pestering Audrey today?"

"I don't know?"

Hermione: "Could someone have used Polyjuice Potion to turn into Audrey?"

Ron asked Harry, "What is Polyjuice Potion?"

Harry was equally curious.

Hermione explained, "A potion that allows you to turn into someone else."

Ron curled his lips in disdain, then said to Harry, "Wow, I like this potion. I want to turn into George or Fred, and then fool Mom with the two of them!"

George: "Mr. Ronald Bilius Weasley, I didn't expect you to have a talent for pranks too!"

Fred: "I think Ron is jealous that we are taller than him and wants to use Polyjuice Potion to experience the feeling of being tall!"

George: "If that's the case, why not use the 'Grow-Tall-Fast' potion we invented last school year?"

Fred: "The effect is reliable. One tube down, and your body is guaranteed to grow tall!"

Ron shook his head repeatedly. The twins' "Grow-Tall-Fast" potion was a failed product. They had forced it down the throats of the gnomes in the garden, and as a result, the gnomes became thin and long like stretched noodles!

Chapter 56: Snape: Exemption? (Part 2)

He didn't want to turn into a wand shape!

...

Audrey didn't care what the young wizards thought. She was finally living a normal Hogwarts student life, which was better than anything!

Walking to the Slytherin table, Audrey saw Arjonia Rolle, who had been missing for a week.

This fierce senior looked very haggard at this moment, probably because of the disdain from the surrounding classmates?

This kind of cold violence was indeed quite embarrassing sometimes.

However, the unique function of the Unicorn constitution activated.

Audrey stared at Arjonia with a look of disbelief.

Isaline tugged at Audrey. "What's wrong, Audrey?"

"Oh, nothing, Isaline," Audrey smiled. "I just didn't expect Senior Rolle to recover so quickly."

(Note: If you are unclear about the special ability of the Unicorn constitution, please refer back to the fifth paragraph of Chapter 52 "Encounter in Hogsmeade".)

...

The fifth-year young wizards were all full of confidence.

They sat neatly in the Potions classroom, waiting for Snape's questions.

Since the class was reviewing what they had learned before, they would review properly. At least they wouldn't become a typical example of idiocy picked out by Professor Snape like Wood.

The giant bat arrived on schedule.

He walked swiftly onto the podium without an opening speech, concise and comprehensive:

"Today we will learn the preparation method for the Draught of Peace..."

The young wizards looked at each other in dismay.

Wasn't it agreed to review the curriculum from first to fourth year? Why start teaching new potions?

Then what was their desperate revision this week for? Wouldn't it be better to cram these things right before the O.W.L.s exam?

Snape: The so-called review before was requested by the Headmaster to accommodate Audrey Astley. But looking at it now, her level is much higher than you dregs. Who knows who is accommodating whom!

The class ended. Unsurprisingly, Audrey was the MVP again, winning twenty points for Slytherin.

Snape still had that ice-block face, but he was already blooming with joy inside.

"Professor Snape," Audrey approached Snape, who was packing up his teaching materials, and asked, "I want to apply for exemption from Potions class. Is that okay?"

Snape frowned tightly, looking at Audrey. "Just because you have a little talent, you think you are omnipotent?"

He looked a bit angry. "I didn't expect you, Miss Astley, to be such an arrogant person too! Potions is a subject that requires a lot of time to practice and explore! How dare you mention the word 'exemption' in front of me!"

Audrey sighed and began to take potions out of her pouch.

Bottle after bottle.

Draught of Peace, Invigoration Draught, Wit-Sharpening Potion, Everlasting Elixirs, Confusing Concoction...

Then the sixth and seventh-year ones: Elixir to Induce Euphoria, Felix Felicis, Draught of Living Death, Dreamless Sleep Potion...

Snape inspected them one by one with a gloomy face.

These potions were all top-grade, and without exception, they all had the characteristic of potions brewed by Audrey—a magical reaction like specks of starlight.

This characteristic was extremely recognizable. Snape could see at a glance that these were indeed brewed by Audrey herself.

Snape suddenly raised his head, staring dead into Audrey's eyes. "Even if Nicolas Flamel taught you personally, you couldn't have brewed so many potions in two months!"

"So you knew how to brew potions long ago! You are not from the Muggle world!"

"Who exactly are you?"

Audrey's heart skipped a beat. To slack off and skip class, she seemed to have gotten a bit carried away. The result of acting incautiously was being suspected by Snape.

However, she calmed down very quickly. "Professor, if you want to know about my situation, you can ask Professor Dumbledore directly. I believe he can give you a perfect answer."

Audrey suddenly felt a powerful will trying to break through her mind and pry into her consciousness.

However, with a soul twice as strong, even if she didn't know Occlumency, almost no one could pry into her heart.

So the result was that Snape took two steps back, then drew his wand, his eyes grave.

"Professor Snape," Audrey tried her best to keep smiling—being treated as a dangerous element was not a very good experience after all—"I am not an enemy, just your student. So, could you put down your wand first?"

Snape slowly lowered his wand. He was a bit overreacting. Ever since Harry Potter enrolled, he had poured a huge amount of attention onto that kid.

Although that brat was as annoying as James Potter, his eyes...

Harry Potter was Lily's child; he had to protect him well.

And the Audrey Astley before him—mysterious, powerful. Would she be a threat to Potter?

Seeing Snape lower his guard, Audrey breathed a slight sigh of relief. "So, Professor Snape, regarding my exemption application..."

She watched Snape's expression becoming increasingly ugly, hesitated for a moment, but finally said it: "My exemption application, do you think you could approve it?"
