Chapter 22 - Some People Are Always Unlucky

The moment Sogetsu sensed something wrong, he shouted:

"Tsunade—move!"

But he was already too late.

Tsunade inhaled sharply. Chakra surged through her system like an exploding dam, flooding her arms and condensing violently into her fist.

Sogetsu's expression stiffened.

This is bad.

Dragon-scale patterns rippled across his skin as he snapped into a defensive stance—

—just in time to take a full-power Chakra Enhanced Strength head-on.

BOOM!!!

The entire altar disintegrated instantly.

The shockwave ripped through the underground chamber, splitting stone, collapsing pillars, and blasting Sogetsu out like a ragdoll shot from a cannon.

He skidded for dozens of meters, carving trenches through the earth and crashing through several massive trees before finally stopping. Blood spilled from his lips.

No wonder Jiraiya was hospitalized for three months… this strength is monstrous.

The cavern crumbled under the force of Tsunade's blow.

Sogetsu staggered upright, wiping the blood from his mouth.

"Tsunade wouldn't destroy the altar for no reason… something's wrong."

From the settling dust, Tsunade emerged—her steps unsteady, her eyes unfocused.

Sogetsu's brows tightened.

She's wrapped in foreign chakra—her mind is being suppressed.

Then—

A voice, soaked in centuries of hatred, tore through the burial grounds:

"Uchiha…"

The rubble exploded outward.

A girl appeared at the shattered heart of the altar—pale from years of darkness, slender, long black hair hanging around her like a shroud. Her face was delicate, but her expression was twisted by grief and rage.

And in her eyes—

a Mangekyō Sharingan.

Sogetsu stiffened.

Great. Just great.

The girl stepped forward, hatred overflowing like a flood.

Tsunade moved at the same time—her controlled body lunging like a missile, shattering stone beneath her as she charged at Sogetsu.

Sogetsu substituted with a log, narrowly avoiding a punch that pulverized the ground.

Definitely under mental control.

Dodging blow after blow, he analyzed Tsunade's movements, Sharingan tracking her chakra circulation, muscle contractions, and killing intent.

One mistake meant death.

A flaming roar erupted behind them.

"Fire Style: Majestic Destroyer Flame!"

A tidal wave of flames swallowed the battlefield. Trees combusted. Earth melted.

Sogetsu burst from the inferno at the last second, dragon-scale shielding charred but intact.

But Tsunade—her body aflame—charged through the fire like a raging demon.

"Yin Seal: Release!"

The violet diamond on her forehead dissolved into glowing lines across her body. Burned flesh regenerated instantly, her chakra skyrocketing again.

Sogetsu grimaced.

Unlimited regeneration and monster strength. A nightmare combination.

He glanced at the girl who had started all this.

She's the real problem.

He hurled a Great Fireball at her, only for Tsunade to intercept again—shattering it with a punch.

That moment of impact was all he needed.

Sogetsu flickered behind her.

Sharingan spun violently.

He poured every thread of spiritual force into her exposed mind—

Dragon's Gaze: Intimidation.

Dragon's Gaze: Frenzy Break.

Tsunade's consciousness screamed. Pain lanced through her mind like a shattering mirror. Her body went limp as she crashed to the ground, unconscious.

Sogetsu landed lightly, exhaling.

Then he faced the girl.

"Game over."
