———

At the end of afternoon swordsmanship training, Aisaka Noya clearly heard a faint, mechanical sound echo inside his head.

He frowned, trying to ignore it. Grabbing his white coat from the corner rack, he slung it over his shoulder and stepped out of the elite recruit training ground.

The sun was already dipping into the horizon. On the main boulevard leading toward the mess hall, crowds of marines were streaming out from their respective training fields — chatting, laughing, and teasing one another. Everywhere he looked, there were young, determined faces brimming with vigor.

Noya walked alone beneath the long rows of trees. He wasn't trying to draw attention — in fact, he did his best to blend in — yet it was hopeless. He stood out like a torch in the dark.

Nearly one meter ninety-five tall, his lean, muscular build exuded quiet strength. His half-length black hair framed a striking, masculine face, and his sun-bronzed torso — still glistening with sweat — bore the scars of relentless training. Combined with his calm composure, he radiated the warmth and confidence of the winter sun.

The proportion of women in this division wasn't high, but there were still a few.More than a few young female marines couldn't help sneaking glances his way. When their eyes met his for even a second, they'd startle like rabbits — faces flushing before quickly turning away.

Same old routine.

Noya was used to it by now — those quick, admiring glances, the flustered reactions. Pretending not to notice, he walked on quietly, mind still occupied by the strange voice he'd heard moments earlier.

Was the system… actually awakening now? After all this time?

It had been nineteen years since his soul had crossed into this world. He was born into an ordinary family stationed in the 1482nd Branch of Higashi Umi, in the sixteenth year of the Marine Calendar. His father was a branch captain. His mother tended an orange grove with endless patience and care.

Since childhood, he'd shown extraordinary physical ability. His father — a stern man with high hopes — began strict training early, dreaming that his son might one day reach Marine Headquarters and become a great hero like the legendary Gabu.

As a boy, gasping through grueling drills, Noya had often fantasized about getting a traveler's "cheat" — maybe a "Strongest Navy System" or a "Sword Saint Inheritance Module."Anything that might help him survive those hellish days.

But no miracle ever came.

Even when, a year ago, he'd caught Gabu's attention and been handpicked to join Marineford's elite training camp, Noya had already long since given up on such daydreams.

And yet — the system chose now to appear?

"...Love Cell Cultivation System?" He muttered inwardly, expression twitching. "What kind of name is that?"

Who exactly did this thing think it was looking down on?

He wasn't some clueless romantic!

Sure, he'd never been in a relationship, but that didn't mean he was hopeless. Back home, he had a beautiful childhood friend — the kind who'd grown up with him since they were kids. Their bond was strong and natural. His love life would take care of itself, thank you very much.

Did he really need a system for that?

By the time those thoughts faded, he'd already reached the mess hall. The mouthwatering aroma of freshly prepared food hit him immediately, driving away all other concerns. Grabbing a tray and bowl, Noya joined the queue — his hunger louder than his skepticism.

Training at the elite camp was brutal, and by this hour, his stomach was crying for mercy.A few minutes later, meal in hand, he found a quiet corner table and sat down. He'd barely taken two bites before two familiar figures plopped their trays down across from him like they owned the place.

On the left sat a burly young man, a cigarette dangling lazily from his lips. His hooded eyes and rough features made him look perpetually mean.On the right, a tall, thin blond youth with delicate features, his brow furrowed as though the weight of the world was on his shoulders.

"Oi, Shiryu!" Noya scowled, waving at the smoker. "How many times have I told you — no cigarettes during meals!"

Then, turning toward the blond boy, he grinned. "And what's with the long face, Rosin? You've been sighing since you sat down."

Shiryu and Rosin — his closest friends in the camp. They'd joined the elite program around the same time as him, though Shiryu was four years older and Rosin a year younger. Over the past year, they'd gone through hardship and triumph together, growing into something close to brothers.

"It's the damn monthly assessment," Shiryu grunted, extinguishing his cigarette. "Last month, this guy bombed the Six Styles test and only ranked sixth. Swore up and down in front of Instructor Zefa that he'd take first next time."

He smirked, glancing at Rosin. "Now it's the day after tomorrow, and he's already losing confidence."

"I—I didn't cry!" Rosin stammered, cheeks reddening. "And besides, weren't you complaining about Zefa-sensei's pace last week? Said it was impossible to keep up. You really think you'll pass the next test?"

"Sorry to disappoint," Shiryu said dryly, popping a rice ball into his mouth. "I figured out both Moonwalk and Shave two days ago. I'll be fine."

"Wha—?! You mastered those already?!" Rosin gawked. "I'm still struggling with Paper Art!"

Noya chewed quietly, suppressing a sigh.He liked these two, he really did. But sometimes their casual genius made him want to flip the table.

Where was I last month?Ah, right — ranked somewhere around fifty-sixth or fifty-seventh.

With over two hundred recruits in the elite camp, that put him firmly in the middle-upper range — not bad, but nothing compared to these two monsters constantly battling for first place.

In his home branch, his physical ability had made him a prodigy. But Marineford… was a nest of geniuses. This world was unfair — brutally so. Some, like BIGMOM, were born with power others could never reach, no matter how hard they trained.

Noya's parents were ordinary. His strength came purely from years of merciless discipline and endurance. Even reaching this level had taken everything he had.

And yet, to truly catch up to the monsters of this sea… he'd probably need something like a Devil Fruit — or, well, a system.

Unfortunately, what he got was this.

Between bites, Noya decided to test it.He focused his mind — and instantly, a translucent blue panel shimmered into existence before him.

[Name: Aisaka Noya][Age: 19][Strength: 7][Agility: 6][Endurance: 9][Intelligence: 8][Charm: 10][Current Points: 1501 (Welcome Bonus)]

[Skills:Dual-Blade Swordsmanship (Beginner),Rokushiki – Six Styles (Beginner),Firearms (Beginner),Close-Combat Techniques (Beginner),Self-Discipline (Master)]

A note at the bottom indicated that the average marine soldier scored around five points per stat.

So aside from his absurdly high Charm, he was… average.Barely above baseline.

And yet, he could easily take down a dozen trained soldiers at once in real combat. The math didn't add up — so maybe the stat system worked exponentially. Each extra point could represent a vast power gap.

Then there were his skills.

One glance, and he nearly facepalmed.Beginner, beginner, beginner… and one master — in self-discipline.

"...Can that even count as a skill?" Noya muttered under his breath, taking a long drink of soup.

Still, he hadn't forgotten how suspicious this "Love Cell System" sounded. He scrolled down, eventually finding a tab labeled Rules & Overview, and opened it.

The rest were minor details, but Noya's expression stiffened halfway through.

"All beings…?"

Did that mean animals? Objects? The sea? He couldn't decide if the system was insane or just trolling him.

Sighing, he finally tapped open the item shop.

Only six products appeared on the menu:

[Taijutsu Training Boost (7 Days): 200 points][Teleportation Skill Scroll (Requires INT 11): 20 points][Wind Barrier Scroll (Requires Advanced Swordsmanship): 30 points][Rokushiki: Paper Art Scroll (Intermediate): 1000 points][Devil Fruit Appraiser (Permanent): 8 points][Telescope of Clairvoyance (Single Use): 6000 points]

He stared for a while, utterly speechless.

Of all the possible cheat systems a transmigrator could get…

Why this one?
