Chapter 16 - Chapter 16 Those Who Can Time Travel Are No Ordinary

"What are you doing? A team went in and only the two of you are left?"

Outside the woods, seeing the two runners emerge, the two pursuers leaning against the car smoking immediately threw away their cigarettes and stubbed them out. Their disheveled appearance clearly indicated something bad had happened.

"I suspect that Asian guy was hiding his identity," one pursuer said, his expression somewhat flustered.

"You've been reading too many novels!" the pursuer beside the car couldn't help but curse.

"Damn it, why weren't you the one who went in with him when we were arresting him!"

"Stop arguing, where's our backup?" "No backup. Why would we need so many people to arrest just one ordinary person?" the driver said, looking somewhat guilty as he explained the lack of backup.   An ordinary person could almost wipe out their entire squad… Could this really be one of those characters from novels who pretends to be weak

while actually being strong ?   Thinking of this, the driver also felt uneasy. If the pursuers suddenly emerged from the woods, they might not be able to hold them off. With this in mind, the driver decisively said, "We'll call for backup. Keep an eye on this place; he can't get far."   No matter how well Bai Mu concealed his identity, he was still a man on two legs; how far could he run?   In the woods, Bai Mu followed the pursuers to where they had parked. He knew he only had two legs and would have a hard time escaping the pursuit. Moreover, these people dared to directly attack the army; it wouldn't be surprising if they used aerial vehicles to obtain what Thorn had left behind.   Bai Mu was thinking a lot. He had been overestimating the enemy's capabilities, including when dealing with this small group of pursuers,   even if they hadn't displayed the combat power Bai Mu had imagined.   The surviving pursuers didn't intend to leave any vehicles behind; the vehicles had stopped right next to the woods, giving Bai Mu ample opportunity to act.   As he darted out of the woods, one of the pursuers, whose attention had been focused on the other side of the forest, panicked.   "It's that Asian guy!"   He and the driver quickly drew their pistols and fired at the car window, but something smashed through the glass even faster and landed inside the car.   After seeing what it was, the two blurted out "F"—and were swallowed by the explosion.   Bai Mu threw a grenade and fired at another car; the bullet shattered the window, killing the pursuer inside. The pursuer in the last car didn't hesitate to step on the gas and speed away. Bai   Mu fired a few shots at that car, slightly damaging the air.   He opened the car door, pulled the corpse out, took all the pursuer's equipment, and drove off in another direction.   The cool night breeze gradually calmed Bai Mu's agitated emotions.   He glanced at the weapon on the passenger seat and the blood splattered on it; instead of feeling disgusted, he felt a strange, novel thrill—something he couldn't get from fighting zombies.   "Am I really that dangerous?" Bai Mu muttered to himself as he reached a suburban highway. He didn't even know where he was, but as long as there was a road, he was fine, and he still had enough gas.   As long as he didn't foolishly head back to admire the nuclear bomb's view, his next options were either to act decisively and do something big, or to integrate into local life normally.   He took out the storage disk that Thor had given him. The research data inside would be of interest to all the terrorist organizations in this world, right?   But trading with those people would most likely result in losing both money and lives; it would be better to build his own power base.   A car approached from the opposite direction. As they passed each other, the driver looked at the bullet holes in his car with horror, and then at Bai Mu's friendly smile as he looked over. He instinctively floored the accelerator.   Adjusting his rearview mirror, Bai Mu carefully examined himself. He wasn't as scary as he thought.   Shaking his head, he took out the phone Thor had given him. It had a signal. Seeing this, Bai Mu immediately took out the address and dialed the number.   After more than ten seconds, the call was finally answered.   "Hello...hello?" The person on the other end of the phone frowned, looking at the disconnected phone, wondering who had called. Not many people knew this number.

"Holy shit!" Bai Mu, who was on the phone, slammed on the brakes, but even so, he crashed the car into the sewer wall.

Looking around blankly, Bai Mu, covered in smoke, rubbed his head, got out of the car, and was completely bewildered. How had he inexplicably returned?

He looked at his hands; a faint white smoke was emanating from his body. This smoke didn't dissipate but flowed and swirled around him.

As it flowed, the smoke even passed through his body. During this process, the smoke gradually decreased, and Bai Mu felt his fatigue rapidly subside, and his wounds healed imperceptibly.

As the smoke diminished, a powerful sensation filled his body.

  "Awesome!"

Unfortunately, the smoke couldn't completely integrate into his body. After some of it decreased, the remaining smoke swirled around him, condensing into several objects and a few grayish-white fragments.

Bai Mu recognized these objects: a segment of a bio-mutant claw, which had been confiscated as a dangerous item at security.

It was obvious that if he had used the enhancement drug, he would have been stopped on the spot during security.

A familiar metal briefcase that made his eyes twitch, a vial of enhancement drug that he recognized even more and had deliberately given up on, and a few grayish-white fragments he hadn't seen before, but whose color looked somewhat similar to the smoke surrounding him.

"I knew I'd transmigrated, so I'm definitely not an ordinary person!"

He was an ordinary person before transmigrating, and he's still an ordinary person after transmigrating, so what a waste of his transmigration!

Bai Mu fumbled around on the briefcase for a moment, and with a click, the closed briefcase opened. There was no combination lock on it.

The inside of the briefcase had a familiar double-layered structure, filled with vaccines and viruses. Bai Mu took out the vaccine that Torn had given him and compared it with the ones in the briefcase; they were exactly the same.

He immediately closed the briefcase, his heart starting to race. Having witnessed the devastation of the Great Bear Market, Bai Mu knew how dangerous the contents of this briefcase were.

Although the Great Bear Market was caused by a leak of virus databases from multiple laboratories, directly smashing the boxes containing the virus wouldn't necessarily cause Rota City to fall, but it could still create a biohazard crisis.

There were also the claws of the bio-mutant, those things were also teeming with bio-viruses.

As for the enhancement potion, Bai Mu's gaze towards it became somewhat subtle. As always, he had a strong distrust of anything containing viruses, especially since it came from the hands of a scumbag.

The enhancement potion formed from smoke might not be problematic, but Bai Mu wasn't in a hurry to test it.

He spun the enhancement potion in his hand, then stuffed it into his pocket. The smoke had significantly increased his strength, so it shouldn't be worse than the enhancement potion. After

quickly taking stock of what he had obtained, Bai Mu looked at the car, somewhat troubled about how to get it out of the sewers. This was the sewers, no matter how spacious it was.

Even if he managed to get the car out, he was unfamiliar with the area, and how to dispose of it would be a problem. Besides, he was back; where were the others?

Bai Mu glanced at the corpse in the sewer, then without hesitation pulled out the gun from the car, warily watching the slightly twitching body.

The corpse, Thorn, was unrecognizable; its body was swollen like a tyrant from Resident Evil, ready to leap at any moment.

Bai Mu guessed a possibility: he might suddenly return because something had happened to Thorn?

They had come into contact with the Dream through the sewer corpse, and if the source of the Dream was in trouble, the Dream couldn't be sustained, right?

Bai Mu also saw wisps of black mist rising from the sewer corpse. After the mist appeared, the surroundings distorted. Shining a flashlight on them, Bai Mu could make out the distorted

, humanoid outlines. The outlines weren't fully formed before being covered by a faint black mist, much lighter than the mist on the sewer corpse, but it still gave off an unsettling feeling.

Bai Mu knew the others were coming back, and those returning might not be human…
