Reflection of reality

Chapter One Ethan was sitting in the classroom inside the school, among his classmates, in the middle of the lesson. Ethan is a young man in high school. He is lazy and does not like studying, while his friend Roy was sitting next to him, concentrating with the professor in his mathematics class. Roy was always top of the school every year, however, his superiority did not affect his friendship with Ethan. Ethan yawned tiredly as he tried not to sleep, muttering in a low voice: > "Man, these classes make me want to sleep more than any hypnotist." Roy replied without taking his eyes off the blackboard, busy explaining: > "Be patient, the class is almost over. After that, we will go to the newly opened restaurant on the other side of the park near the school." Ethan looked out the window at the park, which was only one street away from the school, and said indifferently: > "I don't know why you want to go there. It's a restaurant like the rest." Roy said excitedly: > "I heard they are serving a new kind of food, I want to taste it!" Ethan smiled resignedly: > "Okay, okay... we'll try this thing whatever." Time passed until the class ended, and the dismissal bell rang. Roy and Ethan left the school together and headed towards the restaurant, talking and laughing. > "Man, I don't think I'll get good grades this year either," Ethan said in a desperate tone. "It's not as difficult as you think," Roy replied with a calm smile. "I can explain everything you're missing if you want." Ethan laughed: > "We tried a lot, but you—" Suddenly, before he could finish speaking, he noticed that Roy had disappeared next to him! He stood frozen in place, looking around in amazement, calling his friend's name, but no one answered. Suddenly he noticed something strange in front of him... something that looked like a solid air bubble, transparent but radiating a dull light, as if the air itself had frozen. He approached her curiously and extended his hand to touch her — and immediately everything changed. The fabric of reality changed around him. Everything he saw began to move in a strange way, as if time was wrapping around him...and then it froze. He found himself standing in the same garden, but it was no longer the same—the same place, but of another color, another world that resembled reality, and yet was completely different. While he was trying to comprehend what was going on, he heard a voice behind him. He quickly turned around...and saw Roy fighting someone or something covered in thick black energy, obscuring his features, holding black daggers that glowed with a dark light. Roy was facing him, holding a sword that radiated with azure energy wrapping around his body, their weapons clashing fiercely with each other. Ethan shouted in astonishment: > "What's going on, Roy?!" He didn't understand anything that was going on. Roy noticed that Ethan had entered this "other fabric", so he moved quickly to stand in front of him. > "Ethan?! How did you get in here?!" But before he could hear any answer, the black entity attacked again, slashing Roy in the shoulder with amazing speed. Roy retreated with difficulty, blood dripping from his shoulder, then he shouted in a painful voice: > "Stand behind me... and don't move!" Ethan stood stunned, not knowing if this was a dream or reality... while the air around him shook as if it were a living thing waiting to devour him. End of the first semester.
