I'm so glad I took a gap year. I mean, if I could, I'd take another one, but Minho wouldn't like that. Over my break, I decided to start writing down my thoughts—hence what I am currently doing. Of course, not everything I can write, but at least for this, I want to document that I had the best gap year ever. I learned about myself: I want to do something in writing, publishing, or journaling? I'm still deciding. But I already have permission from Lara Jean to write about her infamous love story.
Anyways, I am on the airplane right now. Flying back home to finish packing, I just left Japan, and it was amazing. I spent my time there with Minho, Yuri, and Juliana—so I guess it was a couples' vacation. But it was so much fun, and there were so many things to do! I can't possibly write them all down, but I will definitely have the pictures for it.
"Please prepare for landing and thank you for riding with us."
Well, I guess that's it for now. I can't wait to tell my family everything that I did.
Kitty Song, now 18, finished her gap year and was preparing to start her college life in South Korea with Minho. Nothing could describe how excited she was to go back and see her friends again. Minho was going back home with her, so they could fly to Korea together—he sent his belongings to Dae's house so he could pick them up there.
"I can't believe we're going to start college! A new chapter in my life, and I get to start it with you."
"I know, you're welcome, Covey." The couple laughed as they waited for their suitcases to appear on the baggage carousel.
"I might just wash my clothes that are in the suitcase, then repack everything again."
"You mean you're going to wear the same outfits you wore in Japan, in Korea?"
"Yeah, why not? Saves me time from having to figure out my outfits—which, you know me, I tend to struggle with depending on my mood."
"You know I like to—"
"-Stop right there. I am not going to let you re-wear the same outfits. Everyone is going to see our posts, and then they'll see that you're wearing the same thing!"
Kitty began to whine, but Minho held his hand up. "Nope. You can't win me over. I've said what I said."
There's no point in arguing. That's the only thing I can't argue with him on: fashion.
The pair finally found their luggage. Minho grabbed them both, and they started to make their way out of the airport.
"I thought your parents would've come to pick us up," Minho said as he held Kitty's hand firmly.
"Nah, I didn't tell them I was coming back today. It's a surprise."
"Of course it is." Minho had come to learn and love his girlfriend's attitude toward life. Kitty always somehow made things fun; she couldn't stand it if things were boring or awkward. And she always told it straight—even at the wrong times, but with pure intentions.
"Kitty! Why didn't you tell us you were coming back today! Your dad and I would have come to get you," Trina said, hugging Kitty and Minho.
"We wanted it to be a surprise, so surprise!"
"Honey, who's at the door?" her dad came down the stairs, yelling until he laid eyes on Kitty.
"Kitty! What are you doing here?"
"I live here, dad?"
"Oh, you know what I mean. Hey, Minho, welcome back."
"It's good to be back, sir."
"Oh yeah, dad, is it okay if Minho stays here until we leave for Korea? Yeah? Thank you!"
Kitty gave Dan a tight hug and grabbed Minho's hand, leading him upstairs.
"Thank you, Mr. and Mrs. Covey, for letting me stay here!" Minho managed to say as he was dragged along the stairs.
Kitty led him to her room. "You'll stay here. I'll stay in my sister's room."
"Alright, thank you, Kitty. I'm going to freshen up and meet you downstairs?"
"Okay, Minho."
Kitty opened Lara Jean's room and was greeted by her sister and fiancé dancing.
"Well, aren't you two cute."
The couple was startled.
"Kitty!" Peter rushed over and gave her a big hug.
"Alright, now she's my sister, big guy. Move it," Lara Jean joked as she hit Peter with her hip.
"I didn't know you were coming today."
"Well, it was a surprise, just like this! I didn't know you were in town as well."
"Yeah, Peter and I decided to stop by before we made our way for house touring."
"Oh, can I come too? Minho is here as well."
"Sure. Wait, where is Minho staying?"
"I'm letting him use my room; then I was going to stay here. But I can take Margot's room instead."
"No, let's room together! We can take Margot's room, and Peter can use this. I miss spending time with my little sister."
"Alright, alright, Lara Jean. I love you too, now let me go."
"Hey Kitty...oh hey, Lara Jean. Peter," Minho greeted, and the four began to go downstairs.
"You know what I just thought of? We should do dinner at the corner," Lara Jean proposed.
Lara Jean, Kitty, Minho, and Peter all agreed to go, laughing and chatting.
