Chapter 3 - Super Brain

In the outskirts of New York, an abandoned industrial zone.

Xiao Han stood in a barren lot, surrounded by collapsed walls and rusted machinery.

This had once been a chemical factory, now reduced to concrete ruins overrun with weeds.

"System, pull up my ability panel," he murmured mentally.

[Ding! Host ability panel generated]

[Host: Xiao Han]

[Current Abilities: Full Steel Body (growth-capable)]

[Strength Level: Can effortlessly lift objects weighing millions of tons (growth-capable)]

[Defense Level: Immune to conventional physical attacks; can withstand nuclear blast center without injury; magical resistance is weaker relative to physical defense, except against high-level mages like the Ancient One; ordinary mages can be ignored]

[Speed Level: Up to 0.3c in space, 200 Mach within the atmosphere]

[Energy Reserve: Yellow sun radiation charging continuously, current energy level 97%]

[Special Abilities: Heat Vision (up to solar surface temperature), Freeze Breath (near absolute zero), Biotic Force Field (can protect or manipulate contacted objects), X-ray Vision (can penetrate all substances except lead), Super Hearing (global directional listening)]

[Weakness: Kryptonite can weaken the host, potentially fatal; but the host can ignore this weakness—unless you choose to die, no one can attack you with kryptonite, not even via smoke; the biotic force field can block it]

Xiao Han nodded slightly, scanning his surroundings.

He needed to test his abilities—but without attracting the attention of S.H.I.E.L.D. or Hydra.

"First, test strength."

He approached a dilapidated concrete building and placed a single hand on its wall.

The biotic force field expanded, encompassing the entire structure. Then, he lifted lightly.

Boom!

The whole building rose in one hand. Steel beams groaned and twisted, but under his precise control of the force field, not a single stone fell.

"Weight roughly 8,000 tons, no problem at all," Xiao Han muttered. Though the system had already told him his strength, he felt uneasy without a hands-on test.

[Strength test complete. Current lifting limit: not yet reached]

He gently set the building back down—no noticeable tremor on the ground.

"Next, speed."

Xiao Han inhaled deeply, bent his legs slightly, then—

Bang!

A sonic boom erupted. In an instant, he vanished.

Nineteen seconds later, he hovered above the Atlantic Ocean, gazing down at the water below.

"Too fast…" Xiao Han murmured, dazed. "System, calculate my speed just now."

[Speed test result: approximately 180 Mach]

[Warning: High-speed movement produces sonic booms and heat radiation, potentially detectable by satellites. Host need not worry. Biotic force field can suppress sound]

Xiao Han nodded, adjusted his posture, and quickly returned to New York outskirts.

"Test heat vision and freeze breath."

He focused on a small distant hill.

Sss!

Two hair-thin red beams shot out, slicing precisely through the hillside. Rocks silently melted into molten lava.

Then he inhaled deeply and exhaled slowly.

Fwoosh!

The frigid air swept over the lava, freezing it instantly into black, glass-like crystals.

"Not bad control," Xiao Han said, nodding in satisfaction. "System, show energy consumption data."

[Heat Vision (low power): 0.01% energy consumption][Freeze Breath (single use): 0.005% energy consumption]

"Practically negligible," Xiao Han smiled. "Now, super hearing?"

He closed his eyes and concentrated.

Instantly, countless sounds flooded his ears.

Police sirens in Manhattan, crowds chattering, subways rumbling.

Farther away, political debates in Washington, military radio communications.

Even a secret meeting on the other side of the planet.

Xiao Han's super brain automatically filtered out S.H.I.E.L.D.-related transmissions.

He began searching for targets. Soon, he intercepted an encrypted conversation:

"Hydra base destroyed, energy readings abnormal.""No witnesses, all surveillance down.""Director Fury requests continued investigation, but leads are scarce."

Xiao Han chuckled.

S.H.I.E.L.D. was indeed looking for him—but clueless.

He attempted to intercept Hydra communications, but their encryption was stronger; he could only catch fragments:

"Winter Soldier on standby.""Target may possess super speed.""Prepare plans in advance."

"Sure enough, Hydra is even more cautious than S.H.I.E.L.D." Xiao Han opened his eyes. "But they still haven't found me."

He decided to test another ability—super brain.

"System, retrieve the tech tree of this world. Focus: energy tech, materials science."

[Ding! Analyzing…][Marvel Universe tech level: Certain fields far exceed the real world][Key Technologies: Arc Reactor (Tony Stark), Vibranium (Wakanda), Pym Particles (Hank Pym), Super Soldier Serum (legacy of Dr. Erskine)]

Xiao Han narrowed his eyes.

"If I can master these, combined with my abilities…"

He thought for a moment, deciding to access this world's core tech.

Standing in the ruined chemical plant, silence surrounded him—only the wind moaning through rusted metal.

He closed his eyes, feeling the surging power within.

Steel Body gave near-invincible defense; super brain granted near-infinite learning potential.

Yet a problem dawned on him.

He didn't truly understand this technology.

"If I want to establish myself in this world, brute strength isn't enough. I need real knowledge."

First step: fundamental science.

He inhaled deeply, eyes slightly focused, activating super vision.

New York Public Library.

His vision penetrated tens of kilometers, locking onto the book stacks inside.

Words on the shelves were crystal clear—even the tiniest printed text could be enlarged and analyzed by his super vision.

University Physics, Introduction to Quantum Mechanics, Fundamentals of Biochemistry

His pupils contracted slightly. His optic nerves scanned each page at superhuman speed. His super brain absorbed information like a sponge.

Molecular structures, electromagnetic theory, thermodynamic laws, DNA coding…

A torrent of knowledge flooded his mind, yet he felt no chaos.

Instead, his thoughts integrated the information with astonishing efficiency, constructing a complete framework of scientific understanding.

Minutes later, he mastered all of human foundational science.

Second step: advanced tech and reverse engineering.

He needed something deeper.

Target: MIT laboratories.

Super vision pierced walls, locating a high-level lab still active in the dead of night.

Graduate students were calibrating a mini nuclear magnetic resonance device, screens scrolling complex quantum computing models.

Xiao Han scanned every line of code, every experimental parameter, his brain deducing underlying principles automatically.

"I see… the confinement field for controlled nuclear fusion is structured like this."

He didn't need physical equipment; his super brain was the ultimate simulator.

He could construct a virtual lab in his mind, predicting any experimental outcome.

Third step: Marvel world's black tech.

Now, he reached for the world's unique technology.

Stark Industries Arc Reactor

His vision crossed the city, locking on Tony Stark's private lab atop Stark Tower.

Tony Stark adjusted the output of a new-generation reactor.

Xiao Han's super vision penetrated the core, observing plasma flows and energy conversion matrices.

His brain automatically deciphered the physics and deduced optimized structures.

"Palladium is just transitional; the real breakthrough should be…"

His thoughts raced, constructing a new reactor model in his mind—more efficient and stable than Stark's version.

Vibranium's molecular structure

His gaze shifted to the UN headquarters, where a Wakandan diplomat's suitcase held a vibranium sample.

Super vision zoomed to atomic resolution, revealing its unique lattice structure.

"The vibration frequency of this metal… can absorb kinetic energy?"

He simulated vibranium in his mind, predicting its behavior under various conditions.

Soon, he understood its mechanism and even envisioned methods to artificially synthesize similar materials.

Quantum effects of Pym Particles

Finally, his attention turned to Hank Pym's old warehouse.

Data records of Pym Particle experiments were locked in a safe, but his X-ray vision ignored the barrier.

He studied the particles' quantum tunneling, his brain calculating the mathematics of spatial compression.

"So size reduction doesn't reduce mass—it folds dimensions…"

He began independent derivations.

By dawn, Xiao Han opened his eyes, a confident smile on his lips.

Without relying on the system, leaving no trace of intrusion, he had learned everything—from basic science to cutting-edge technology—using only his super brain and super vision.

Now, he not only possessed the power of Steel Body but also the knowledge to change the world.

"Next." He gazed toward the distant skyline. "Time to run some experiments."
