Seeing the ID, Luo Xinyi raised his brow and picked the call.
When he picked the call, he stood on the line silently,the person on the other side of the line was also silent.
Silence stretched.
After 30 seconds, the person on the line grew impatient.
" Luo Xinyi!! You asshole, aren't you going to talk after picking the call?"The voice snapped.
"You called,Chen Yifan. Aren't you the one to talk first? "
" You bastard, you told me you will call me when you get to your new apartment! But you didn't. I thought you were kidnapped or something! Are you trying to get rid of me!"Chen Yifan yapped away.
" Why will I want to get rid of you? You are my best friend Yifan. I was actually a little bit busy so I forgot. I am sorry, forgive this poor soul your majesty."
" Mn. You are forgiven you asshole. I actually called you because of two things. This is one of the reasons why I called"
" And the other reason?"
" Your leave is over. You are needed at work today. Message from the Boss."
" What! I was granted two weeks of leave Yifan. I have only spent five days of it!" Luo Xinyi shouted.
" We are currently understaffed. Xinyi "
" Why? What happened?"Xinyi asked.
" Lin Yuwei,Gu Shen and Xu Auran resigned. And Gu Wanging went back to school. We need you back to work "
" Fine! I get it. I will be there"
" Okay. See you at work today. And don't be late."
"Okay" Luo Xinyi said and ended the call.
" Who was that?"
Xinyi flinched slightly.
" Fuck, Zeren! Can you make your presence known before speaking.You scared me!"
" I have been here all this while bro. Stop being dramatic...Who were you talking to?"Ming Zeren Asked.
" My friend and also a co-worker. I have work today." Luo Xinyi said.
" Oh...you work? You look like someone who is too lazy to work."
" I will have you know that I, Luo Xinyi am a very hardworking person."
" Mn. If you say so."
" It's morning already. I need to start getting rea- Wait! My clothes are still in my room! How am I going to get them!"
" We can just go for it Xinyi,"Zeren said "stop panicking."
" ...Right. Right we can go for it. Let's go for it then. I need to be at work at 7 and it is almost 6."
Luo Xinyi and Ming Zeren left Zeren's room to Xinyi's room.
" I will wait for you here. Go pack some of your clothes and some things you think you will need."
Luo Xinyi nodded and entered the bedroom. He packed his work clothes and some casual clothes plus some essentials.
He came out to find Zeren standing by his desk and looking at the already opened diary.
Xinyi picked it up, a long with his devices.
" I am done. Let's go."Luo said. Zeren wordlessly led the way.
Back inside Zeren's apartment, Xinyi picked up his outfit of the day and entered the bathroom.
Xinyi found Zeren in the kitchen after he was ready for work.
" How do you like your coffee?" Zeren Asked.
" Black. No sugar, no milk." Luo Xinyi said
" So what happened in your room?"Zeren Asked while handing Xinyi his coffee.
" I would love to tell you right now, really. But I will be late for work. So let's talk about it after work okay?"Luo Xinyi said quickly drinking his coffee and getting up to leave.
" Mn. Okay"
" See you this evening then." Luo Xinyi said and left.
Luo Xinyi got to the company at around 6:50. He saw a man in a dark green suit standing in front of the building.
" Chen Yifan!"Luo Xinyi shouted. The man in the suit turned around. Upon seeing Luo Xinyi, he smiled.
" Why are you standing here?"Luo Xinyi asked when he got to where his friend was.
" Waiting for you obviously. At least you weren't late today."Chen Yifan said.
" I was only late once, Yifan." Xinyi said feeling offended.
" Whatever. Come on, let's go in."Chen Yifan said.
After work, Luo Xinyi left the company with Chen Yifan and headed to the bus stop. As they were going, Xinyi listened to Yifan yap about how it feels like he is the one third wheeling in his relationship with his girlfriend.
As Xinyi was looking around, he saw Zeren come out of a house.
" Ming Zeren!" Xinyi shouted cutting his friend off. Zeren turned around and Xinyi waved at him.
" Who is that?"Chen Yifan asked.
" Oh, he is my neighbor" Xinyi said.
When they got to where Zeren stood, Chen Yifan stared blatantly at Zeren.
" Ming Zeren, what are you doing here? This place is quite far from the apartment"Xinyi asked ignoring his friend.
" Had work here."Zeren replied.
" Mn. Okay." Xinyi said and glanced at his friend, he realized he was still staring at Zeren. Xinyi lightly slapped the back of his head.
" What are you staring at huh? Don't you know you are being rude."Xinyi said.
Yifan rubbed the back of his head and leaned closer to Xinyi.
" Your neighbor is very handsome"he said.
" So? That doesn't justify your creepy behavior"
Feeling wronged, Yifan moved away from Xinyi and turn to Zeren.
" Sorry for my rudeness. I am Chen Yifan, Xinyi's co-worker and best friend"Chen Yifan said, "And you are very handsome. What's your secret?' Chen Yifan added. Xinyi facepalmed at his friend's bluntness.
" I am Ming Zeren" Zeren said in a flat tone.
" You are not going to tell me your secret?"Zeren ignored him and turned to Xinyi.
" Are you heading back to the apartment?"ha asked.
" Yeah, should we go together?"
" Mn"
" Okay, let's go" Xinyi said." Get ho,e safely and greet your girlfriend for me okay"Xinyi said to Yifan and walked away with Zeren.
" ...Rude much" Yifan said.
" So what work did you come to do?" Xinyi asked.
" Helping a game developer with the visuals and animations of his game." Zeren said.
" Okay"
They both walked in silent since Xinyi had nothing more to say or ask. And it was comfortable. Walking beside Zeren, Xinyi stared at Zeren's side profile, admiring his looks.
'Chen Yifan is right, Zeren is indeed handsome. Very handsome' Xinyi thought.
Zeren was the kind of person people noticed without even trying. Slightly taller than average, he carried himself with a quiet confidence that made him stand out even in a crowd. His build was lean and well propositioned. One could tell he takes good care of himself.
His features were sharp and clean. Defined jawline, straight nose and naturally arched brows that made his expression difficult to read.
He had long hair, falling past his ears and brushing his neck, usually tied loosely at the back.
Even in simple clothes Xinyi was sure Zeren would still stand out in a crowd.
Even though Xinyi didn't fully trust Ming Zeren, but he felt oddly safe in his presence every time.
By the time they reached Yuehua Apartment, it was evening.
Around 7:00 pm.
At the entrance, they met a young girl about nineteen or twenty.
Upon seeing Zeren, her eyes lit up.
" Brother Zeren!"
