Wang Liu Mei looked around the moment she left the shuttle. She could see an unfamiliar style of buildings, flags, soldiers and robots. None of them was something she seen before, and she was supposed to be in the information business for Celestial Being!
Her eyes eventually fell on the towering Arch, made of unfamiliar stones and bearing letters unknown to her. Weirdly enough, it was glowing red.
Eventually, she looked at Marcus as he was standing next to her, watching her with an amused smile.
"...You are not a native of this world. You came from the other side of this portal. You are using Celestial Being to push your agenda." She said that after putting dots together.
"Let me formally introduce myself, Wang Liu Mei. I am Marcus Justinian Anaheim, the Holy Emperor of the Holy Byzantine Empire and ruler of Mankind of my world."
"...You…You are the ruler of the United Humankind of your world!?" Her eyes widened as she realised what this could mean! It could mean that the entire Earth is behind him!
It could mean that he could throw an unimaginable amount of resources towards her world in hopes of ruling it!
"Indeed, I waged a war against other nations and my father, who was the ruler of his Empire, with my Gundam."
"...Gundam… your world has them as well?" She asked, surprised to hear that.
"Indeed, I am the maker of my Gundams. But instead of using GN technology, I used Fusion as a basis. My machines have miniature suns as their cores, and we use gravity particles to make our machines achieve FTL speeds."
"...I-I… see… so what do you want from me? Now that you revealed your origins…"
"I want you to join my Empire. You can live in my world. No expectations, no responsibilities, exactly what you wanted."
Wang Liu Mei trembled when she heard that. There was a huge smirk on her lips.
"I accept!" She agreed without hesitation.
"...Mistress…" Her brother looked at her in disbelief.
"Shut up Hong Long. You know that I don't want any of this! You were supposed to be the Heir, not me!" Wang Liu Mei complained, then looked at Marcus.
"There is something that you want in return, right?" She asked with a bit of gleam in her eyes; there was genuine happiness in her actions now.
"You have a direct connection to Ptolemaios' crew and Gundam Meisters. You will assist me in using them in conquering this world for my Empire."
"...You want this Earth?" She looked a bit surprised.
"I need population and GN technology." He sighed.
"You see, while population growth is huge in my empire, we are expanding far too fast. I already have colonies in Lagrange 3, Mars and Venus. Over a hundred million live in space, but it's still not fast enough.
We are close to moving to Jupiter and opening a proper GN Solar Reactor factory."
"...You work fast." Wang Liu Mei was surprised by the speed of his Empire's growth. But it made sense, considering the whole planet is united under one banner.
"How are you intending to move a large population to another reality in the first place?" The girl realised this could be a hard task.
"First, we will move people who desire a new start. This is where Celestial Being comes to play." He smiled as she quickly realised his angle!
"You want to use Celestial Being as a boogeyman! You plan to use them as a means to gain promotions in the military and most likely advance through ranks and become the Leader of Union, if not the whole world!" She swiftly explained, midway becoming giddy, how devious it was!
He smiled at her. This girl is smart; no wonder they skipped a sibling just to put this girl on the pedestal.
"Indeed. Now the question is, Wang Liu Mei, if you accept my proposal to help me take over this world."
"...You want me to whisper into Ptolemaios' crew's ear, I am right?" She smirked, knowing what he wanted.
"Precisely, I already have Veda, but Veda is a computer, those you can hack, and Ptolemaios' crew is smart enough not to trust the computer completely." He reasoned with her.
"...I will help, but you must hold the end of your deal." She seriously replied. If she plays this game, she might end up an enemy of her entire world, and that is not good for one's health.
"I will, don't worry. Remember, we don't truly need to succeed. I already have GN technology, Alejandro Corner tried to take over Aeolia Schenberg's plan, and he had three separate Gundams ready for it. The same Gundams that I had acquired from him for the past two years."
Wang Liu Mei's eyes grew wide when she heard that! Alejandro Corner wanted to do that!? He had more Gundams ready? This is the first time he has heard such things!
"How did he even get access to Celestial Being's technology?" She asked, worried for a bit. There was a feeling that she wasted money on a project that had been compromised.
"According to Veda's calculations, there was another manned expedition to Jupiter; they most likely found some data on Solar Reactors Celestial Being was making.
When the Corner family got that information, they joined Celestial Being to find their right time to take over the whole project." He explained to her as he motioned for the Heiress to follow him into the building complex.
The group walked there as Marcus explained to her what he found in Corner's family's files.
Well, she was not surprised that he was the one who eliminated and framed the Corners and took over from them. What surprised her was how much pull he has in the Union's Government. Now that is terrifying!
After walking a bit, they entered the facility and could finally shed their heavy winter clothes.
Wang Liu Mei immediately wanted to look around. This was, after all, a building built by humans from a different reality.
"How did you discover these portals? Why even travel to a different reality in the first place?" She asked him, noticing that this civilisation used holograms to an even greater degree than her own, at least from the initial observation of the command centre, which they had passed.
"You see, civilisations live in cycles. The one before us ended roughly 12 thousand years ago, with an event called the Younger Dryas.
Basically, Earth passed through a field of comets, some of which were far too big, and they caused explosions in the skies above large parts of Earth.
While it was not too big a deal for a civilisation that is spread throughout the whole planet, what came next caused a civilisational reset.
You see, Earth back then was in a proper ice age. Most civilisation was built around the equator.
So these comets exploded over the Northern Hemisphere, causing a massive, rapid meltdown of ice.
It caused a massive chain reaction…" As he explained, by this point, she knew where this was going.
"...Thus ending the cycle?" The girl concluded by herself.
"Yes. That's where the flood myths come from. Regardless, I believe these portals are even older than that. Simply because building in Antarctica in the previous cycle is imposible.
It could have been at least two cycles before that, at least from tectonic plate movement." He said with a frown.
"I suppose that is the case. The previous cycle was when Mammoths were a thing, right? So it was even colder than now." Wang Liu Mei hummed as she put on her thinking cap.
"Indeed, so it's a considerable amount of time back. Anyway, I found a lost city in the South Pole just below what you call Argentina.
I began excavations 7 years ago. After five years, I had the portals running and then crossed over to this world.
You could say we were surprised that this world was two hundred years in future, yet it was more primitive technologically than us."
"...You hundred years in past? Yet…" She was surprised by the dates!
"Indeed. We already have FTL travel and our colonies have artificial gravity, and we are close to terraforming both Mars and Venus." He smiled as he spoke of his civilisation's achievements.
"Impressive, now I want to see it even more." Wang Liu Mei was excited to see this new Earth from her perspective.
"You will have to wait for two days." A new voice said.
The Heiress turned to the side as she saw a blonde woman walk over.
"...I am Milly Anaheim, one of Marcus' wives." The blonde declared who she was.
"...One of…" She was surprised to hear that.
"Heh. Didn't expect that? You do realise that you are falling into his trap, Wang Heiress." Milly had this devilish grin on her face.
"He comes in, swoops in like a prince on a white horse and takes you away." The blonde spun as she showed off her acting skills.
"Or… if you don't comply… he will kidnap you." She stopped spinning, then grew serious all of a sudden.
"That's what he did with most of his wives… isn't it right, Darling?" All of a sudden, she was all cute and cuddly as she strolled over to her husband's side.
Marcus groaned when he heard that. Wang Liu Mei looked weirdly at him.
'What he has been up to in his world!?'
"I am a bit busy to look for more wives, Milly. If you haven't noticed yet, I have a backlog of things to do."
"I don't mind!" All of a sudden, Wang Liu Mei grabbed his hand and hugged it. Her actions even caused Milly to look surprised! That was not what she expected!
"...Wang Liu Mei?"
"Are you kidding me? To have the Emperor of Humanity himself be interested in little me? Now that's an honour few can get~." She said with rosy cheeks.
'This girl…' Milly has underestimated how bad this girl is! She was one of those crazy ones! Of course she is! Who in their right mind would throw their family's wealth to support something like Celestial Being!?
"...Yeah…" Marcus didn't know what to say. He wasn't thinking that far in that direction. Sure, this Heiress is hot… but he wanted her as insurance when it comes to Celestial Being. That group are the main characters, and the main Characters have 'Destiny' on their side.
That is why he wants more cards on his side. One of them is having their most valuable source of money and information on his side.
With Wang Liu Mei on his side, he can feed information which he wants to Celestial Being and even stop funding when it's time.
It was a critically damaging move.
"Hehehe. So, what is our move, darling?" The Heiress said with a smile.
Milly, on his other hand, looked at Wang Heiress with disbelief.
'She reminds me of the old days of Ashford Academy when all those Heiresses were ignorant of their surroundings…'
The blonde compared this girl to Britannian noble girls who were living in their dream worlds.
"Well, the plan is quite simple, but the execution is what is difficult." For now, Marcus decided to ignore the fact that two women had taken his hands… It's Leila and Anna all over again…
"What I need is Celestial Being uniting the world's forces for me. Once that is clear, then we can remove them. Once three superpowers are under a single banner, the rest of the world will follow.
Once that is clear, I can begin using this world as another colony." He explained to Wang Liu Mei, who was only half listening. She already understood his goal the moment he revealed his identity to her.
"I see. Then leave it to me. I help you with whatever I can." She nodded, accepting whatever he wanted to do to this world. Now that she has such an awesome 'darling', nothing else really matters to her.
The sheer shift just from that should be a bit concerning for Marcus. But… he is already married to a literal Witch and a Priestess who are no less crazy than this Heiress next to him.
