Chapter 97 - Chapter 96: Exploring the First Colony II

The circular part of the colony rotates around the station several times per minute, creating gravity. The inner part of this 'doughnut' is made out of glass alloy that allows sunlight to be reflected into the colony.

This section is controlled by AI that makes the day and night cycle possible.

The group took one of the trains that brought them to one of the four locations where cities are going to be located.

There will be four cities per colony where the railway station will be located. Of course, there will be a railway network inside the colony, as Marcus requested a strong transportation network. So there will be highways and railways inside the colony that will connect the four cities regardless.

"Even the railways in the pillars have the live broadcast… it feels like we are rushing into the ground…" Kallen complained as she watched how the ground was getting closer.

Because the colony's roof, the inner part of a doughnut, is covered with glass, they can see what the colony looks like.

She can see green, brown and blue parts getting closer to them!

"That's because we are." Anna smiled while saying that.

"And we are doing nothing. My inner self-preservation is complaining right now." Kallen grimaced as she saw land getting closer.

"I know. But we won't smack into the ground if this is what you are complaining about." Anna sighed while saying that.

"I know that! It's just that it's weird. I used to this, but when I am piloting my Dagda!"

Marcus smiled, seeing Kallen getting scared. He can understand, considering the maglev is rushing into the ground at close to 400 kilometres per hour.

"The linear train designed for this is not bad. I saw the prototype used for the colonies, very impressive." Marcus praised two of his nerdy friends.

"We are not the only ones who worked on the models; Lloyd was part of it." Nina couldn't accept the whole praise.

"What are they working on anyway?" The Inventor Prince wasn't sure anymore. There are a butt load of projects that those two are on.

"Many things like Anti-ship weaponry or Geass-related things, but recently they have been working on how the pyramids could power those arches.

Lloyd complained that he would only rest when he found some answer."

Nina replied with a not-sure expression. The girl prefers studying the science that makes sense to her.

"Then he needs to study electromagnetism," Marcus said with a smile, making her smile as well, as she realised that he knew the stuff already.

"Good, I will remind him at some point." The girl giggled as they returned to watching how the colony is getting closer.

"It's crazy to think that we are in space right now." Liliana walked through the grasslands next to the railway station.

Well, this railway station is not as simple as it seems; it literally runs into what they consider the sky. The pillar is rushing many kilometres upwards from where they are standing.

"That's the magic of technology. We built a liveable space in the literal void. This is a monumental achievement for humanity, as this means that we will never have something like a lack of livable space." Marcus commented as he looked upwards. From here, it doesn't even look like they are moving.

The magic of the sheer size and scope of the colony. The only thing that made any sense to him was the moving clouds, just like on Earth.

"Yes, that is true. Humanity can now live anywhere. I can guess that you will have at least a colony on every single planet in our solar system?" Liliana asked him as she was happy with this perfect moment, where she could ask questions of her esteemed leader!

"You are not wrong. Even Gas Giants have their uses. Especially Jupiter and Saturn. Both of them will have a decent amount of population in the future." He explained to the curious girl.

"Oh? Is there a specific reason?" The blonde asked him.

"Jupiter will be our home for Fusion Reactor creation. The abundance of Helium 3 on that planet will be enough for thousands of years. Same with radiation, that world is the most dangerous world right after the sun, because if we don't have protection from radiation, people would basically rot away.

So that's that."

Just mentioning that made the clueless girl pale as she realised that space is not just a great place after all!

"I-I will leave protection from that in your capable hands." She replied with a nervous look!

"Don't worry, we have the means to protect from harmful radiation. Like this colony and station." He looked around, enjoying the fresh air. He felt like he was in the countryside!

"Good to hear." Liliana smiled in relief. This was a good reminder.

"While Jupiter is dangerous, there are countless experiments that can be made with its strong radiation." Nina, who was close by, commented as she heard the whole conversation. She can tell that this new girl is trying some of the girly tactics on the Prince, and that makes the green-haired nerd girl annoyed.

"You are right, building a research facility close to the Gas Giant is one of the things that I am planning to do.

Radiation… is an interesting subject that needs further investment." Marcus nodded as his attention went from Liliana to Nina, causing the blonde to frown for a bit.

It would seem she won't that easily gain his attention. That much is given by how many females are around him.

"Yes. I did figure that after studying Fusion technology." Nina smiled, stars are a very interesting subject! The ratio of gases that are fusing could cause some of the most interesting!

Like Pulsar stars! Those… well, those stars have serious potential for interstellar if not interdimensional travel!

Sadly, there aren't that many of them close by…

The pair smiled at each other. It would seem Nina had stumbled on the same thing as he did, or at least he hoped that she did.

After all, suns are the source of all power in the cosmos; there is a certain particle that Marcus wants to create that could change everything.

That depends on whether he could create in this universe.

Well, that will be obvious once he builds a research facility near Jupiter.

"So…umm… when can we expect to move in here?" Marika asked after looking around. At the moment, there is nothing here.

"Soon. I am gathering Legion Bots that will begin building infrastructure inside the colonies." Anna smiled. She then looked at Marcus.

Now that the tour is over, she can finally speak with him!

"Marcus, can I have a word with you?" She walked over to him.

"Sure, tell me what's on your mind?" He asked the pinkette.

She looked around and motioned for them to walk away a bit.

"Oh, is it going to be a secret?" He joked, realising that she wanted one-on-one without anyone interfering.

"N-Nothing like that." She got embarrassed by his tease.

"What I want to talk about is my old team. Now that you are working on brain-related things with Geass and your Ecne mobile suit. My old team could help you with its further development.

My old Alexander development was closely related to brain raid. A synchronisation of brainwaves. That could help you in improving the next generation of Neural Link technology." Anna explained to him in a serious tone.

"So you want to save them before we invade the EU properly?" Marcus realised where this was going. War is a messy thing, and there are always casualties. Anna wants to make sure nothing happens to her previous team before Cornelia and her armies invade.

"...Yes. It would be for the best." She slowly nodded before showing him her work tablet.

"I have located all of them with the help of Legion." The pinkette showed him a list of people.

"Hmm. You know I could delegate this to my intelligence officers, but I think it would be for the best if we collect them by ourselves, less hostility this way." He suggested making her ponder for a bit.

"...Will I be able to spend some time with you?" She asked with a mosquito voice. Barely above a whisper as she is embarrassed to speak louder.

"That's the whole point." He leaned back and whispered into her ear.

Anna's cheeks imploded as she realised that he had read her whole intention from the very beginning. Especially the timing! She just finished a major project! Like one of the biggest projects in the whole of human history to date!

They have a fully functioning colony in space! So the girl thought that she could spoil herself and spend some time with her crush.

To do that, she needed a reason, an excuse. So why not collect more brainpower for their faction? Something like that, one would never have enough!

"O-Okay…then we can leave anytime you want." She said, blushing, as the girl already has ideas for what else she wants to do!

"Sure." He nodded before looking at the other girls.

"Leila, Kallen, why don't you show around the space fleet for Marika and Liliana?"

The four girls looked at him; they were curious about why such an abrupt request had been made.

"I will be taking Anna to the EU to collect her old team. They will be extra help for the future of Neural Interface and technology related to the brain." Marcus explained to them.

Leila immediately realised that this was what her friend wanted to speak about!

"If this is what you want. What will you do afterwards?" The blonde asked her boyfriend.

"I will be returning to Constantinople. I have things to do there." Marcus said, with a pondering look, that he has plans for that specific part of the world.

"So that's your pet project now?" Leila asked with a raised eyebrow. The girl never imagined that he was a big Rome nerd.

"I thought for a Rome fanboy you would take over Rome instead of Constantinople." The girl joked as she recalled how happy he was to find that the city existed.

The Inventor Prince chuckled as the girl didn't understand what was going on and why he was like that.

"What are your plans for that city?" Anna asked as she was curious; the nerdy girl wanted to see that city as well!

"Rebuild, how is it supposed to be. Besides that, the whole place, Greece and Anatolia, has great weather. I will keep that area as my domain."

"Oh… I see. But what kind of rebuild are we talking about? I can help." The pinkette asked, wanting to work on another project with her prince.

"Rebuilding how the Romans had it at the time of the Eastern Roman Empire. At least the old city district before building new districts in Britannia style."

"...so you are thinking of making Constantinople your actual capital city?" Anna asked as she realised that it was not a simple 'rebuild'.

"Yep, now let's go, I will explain in 'detail'." He wrapped his hand around her waist as he began to take her to the train that would take them out of the colony and into the station.

"...H-Hey—" Kallen was about to go with them. After all, they need to leave the colony as well.

But Leila stopped her.

"We can take another train, don't worry."

The redhead looked at the blonde.

"You seriously letting her hog him like that?" The pilot girl asked with a surprised look.

"...She did build a colony. Marcus is more than happy to spoil her however she wants."

"...When you put it like that." Kallen stopped and pondered. Yeah, Anna did something big.

"Hmph! I helped as well! Wait until I finish MY projects!" Nina snorted. She was jealous! The 3rd generation reactors were impressive already, but wait until she finishes the terraforming tools for Venus and Mars!

Once they have those… IT WILL BE a game changer!

Leila and Kallen looked at the remaining nerdy girl with nervous looks. This girl was a hardcore Marcus fanatic.
