A week has passed since that break of mine, and just as I said back then, the deal I made with Marie also came undone.
Thanks to her, I fully grasped the language of this world, whether in writing, reading, understanding, or speaking it.
Still, just like my words, I'm still here… in the library, still having my face stuck in a book. Anyway…..
With that accomplishment, the bracelet's language function disappeared, granting me 10 SP points. Within this week, I also grasped my innate ability called:
[Option], an ability that will give me random options when I reach something in this world.
When I fully understood the language of this world, I was given a skill from the system. Within that moment, this innate ability of mine introduced itself, giving me two options: one is to keep the skill I manifested in my study, or have it erased in exchange for receiving something else.
The problem with this is that my innate ability doesn't tell me what I'll get if I take this option. I have been hesitant since then, fighting the urge to take the second option even if it meant losing a skill.
Completing another book, I placed it on the side and summoned the panel of my innate ability. Since right now, I feel great about completing another book, I made use of this moment to trick myself into taking the second option.
[Innate ability: Option.
You have taken the second option. The skill: Learning, will now be erased. As a replacement for this skill, you have received the ability: Rune spell.]
I looked in a daze at the panel before me, not taking in the thing that was just offered to me. Did my innate ability just erase the 5th-grade power of mine and turn it into a 3rd-grade power?
Yes! It did. My innate ability did. I quickly examined this new ability of mine, pressing the panel before me.
[Innate ability: Option.
You are allowed to have three runes to use.]
Understanding the words within the panel, I asked for three runes; these are the runes of [Return], [Reinforcement], and finally, I let my innate ability make the decision on the last one.
The reason I chose the rune of return is simple. Having your weapon stolen by your enemy is a death sentence, so having the ability to have your weapon return to you, this problem is now gone.
The second rune, the rune of reinforcement, is because of what I know about it. Two weeks ago, I was studying the rune magic in this world. In that book I'm reading, the rune of reinforcement is a luck-based rune.
Depending on your luck, the reinforcement will be random. This means this rune either reinforces only one of the stats of your weapon or reinforces all the stats on it.
Literally a luck-based rune...
But I'm not worried since my Luck stat is 10 points, where the average in this world is between 4–7, while 9–10 is considered a God-given luck.
[Innate ability: Option.
The runes you have chosen are: Return, Reinforcement, and finally the rune of Effects.]
"... huh?" What does the rune of effects mean? I read the entire book of the rune in this library, not once did I see this one.
Although the runes themselves are weird..... having things like: rune of libido, pleasure, sex technique, and many more, but this one did not exist in the book.
Pressing the panel before me, I decided to check the effects of them.
[Rune of return: Allow you to command your equipment to return to your hand. When used, the rune will ignore everything that goes against its way. Be it the distance, dimensions, and even time and space itself.]
'What?' I thought to myself as I read the explanation of the rune. Ignoring it, thinking the system was joking, I pressed the second one.
[Rune of reinforcement: Allows you to increase the stats of your weapon and equipment.]
[The innate ability is taking part in this rune: you are given the option when you want to use the rune.
Option one: Allow you to reinforce one stat of the equipment of your choice. This can be done 3 times in one piece of equipment.
Option two: Increase all the stats of the equipment of your choice, in exchange for not being able to use the rune for a week.]
"....."
"Lucky?"
I questioned. The innate ability of mine just gave me a choice: one is to reinforce a stat of an equipment three times, and the second is to reinforce all the stats while losing the ability to use the rune for a week.
After thinking about it, I didn't have to worry about this one, since even right now I still don't have a weapon to use, if we ignore the hammer I have.
[Rune of effects: Allow you to put a random rune when used.]
"Okay, what is this now?" I said out loud, seeing the short explanation of it. What does this mean to begin with?
Does this mean that if I use this rune, I will get a random rune I know of? So there's a chance I get the rune of libido, a rune that literally increases your libido by 2 times, or the rune of dick size, which either increases or shortens the size of your dick by 3 inches.
Anyway, I did not regret having this. Because in this world, learning a skill is not easy. If you want to learn the skill: [Fireball], you need to use the spell version of it ten times before you can learn it as a skill.
This means, since I can now use the rune, I can now learn other rune spells, without doing the hard part of doing it on my own ten times in a row.
"Status," I said, to check the new progress of my window.

Just like I thought, I now have a rune section next to my skill section. I made great progress today.

One week in the fall season.
It's been four months since I have been in this world. I spent the entire summer in this library learning as much as I could. In the process of it, I have read 96% of the books in this place.
If I remember right, a place can only be considered a library if it has one thousand books. This means I have read more than nine hundred books in this time of mine.
With this accomplishment of mine, I have now decided to finally stop going here all the time and finally start my actual job.
My life as an adventurer still hasn't improved if I say so. Except for the sewage cleaning quest I took on the second day in this world, I have been doing nothing but herb-collecting quests.
I probably already met the guild contribution points requirement to leave the F-Rank, but because I haven't really taken any other quest except for the herb collecting, I still haven't ranked up.
Anyway, with the change of season, a rare-type monster is now a common sight outside the town gates.
This creature is the result of mana combining with the tiny elemental material around the world, beings that need the perfect temperature to exist, called:
