Tyrus opened the fridge after a long pause and pulled out a full bottle of gin with the cap already loose. He gave Johannes a sidelong glance as he set it on the black marble counter.
"Special? You can frame it like that."
He opened a drawer and took out six wine glasses, each one flawless beneath the fluorescent light.
He took one of the empty glasses and raised it.
"A drink for the ladies?"
Johannes watched Tyrus change the subject and glanced toward the three women behind him.
Evelyn gave a slight nod. Yunera did not answer, while Kimmy showed no interest in the toast.
"Only for three," Johannes looked back to Tyrus. "And make it quick. You still haven't answered our question yet."
"What am I, your bartender now?" Tyrus smirked, doing as he was told.
Ice cubes rolled into the glasses one after another, followed by gin and a tonic water Johannes and Evelyn did not recognize.
