Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

His mother's arms were still wrapped around him—warm, trembling, soft.

But his mind was somewhere else entirely.

A storm.

A crashing, chaotic swirl of two lifetimes merging.

I… reincarnated? As Izuku Midoriya from MHA?

The thought echoed, shaking his entire being.

The anime… it only recently ended. I remember watching the final season just last year…

His breathing hitched.

Does that mean everything here… is real? The villains? The deaths? All Might's fall… Shigaraki's awakening…?

His hands trembled in Inko's embrace.

It was terrifying.

But then something colder hit him like ice water.

It seems like I was here since birth… but my memories only awakened now? At the start of the story plot?

Of all moments…

This one.

He clenched his tiny fists.

Why me?

He remembered his old world with painful clarity.

A comfortable apartment.

A stable job he actually liked.

A family clear of debt and issues.

A body he worked years to build—discipline, diet, dedication.

Everything was finally—finally—falling into place.

And then just like that—

A truck.

A flash.

Gone.

Why me…?

His throat tightened, though the little body didn't know how to express emotions he felt.

I was living such a nice life… I got a job I loved, I fixed things with my family, I was finally at peace. I worked so hard for that physique—years of gym, diet, fixing my posture, disciplining myself…

He bit his lip—hard enough for 4-year-old nerves to sting.

Why did I have to die at the peak of my life? Why now, when everything was perfect?

His heart pounded painfully.

Reincarnation… I used to dream about this stuff back in college. Daydreaming about having powers, going to another world, getting a second chance…

A humorless, broken laugh almost escaped him.

But that was fantasy. That was when life sucked, when I wanted an escape.

Now?

Now I was finally satisfied.

Now I wanted to live.

Now I wanted the life I built.

And some god—some cosmic force—had taken it away.

Why, God? Why?

He didn't scream it aloud.

But inside, his soul was shaking.

And outside—

All Inko saw was her little boy going silent, staring hollowly over her shoulder.

She hugged him tighter, thinking he was hurt by the doctor's words.

"Izuku… sweetie… it's okay… I'm here…"

He swallowed.

Slowly… carefully… he lifted his small arms and hugged her back.

Not because he accepted this world.

But because—

For the first time since waking up here…

He realized something terrifying:

He couldn't go back.

This was his life now.

Whether he wanted it or not.
