Chapter 7 - Ancient beast

Michael examined the third piece of information.

"System, why did this ancient beast appear on this battlefield? As far as I know, this space battlefield isn't naturally formed."

There was silence for a few seconds.

[You will uncover certain truths when you have enough strength. As for the appearance of the ancient beast, it was unintended—it drifted through a space rift. Focus on increasing your strength.]

Michael considered the answer, then thought of something else.

"What about the inheritance relics on Bluestar?"

He received this reply:

[Bluestar is not controlled or manipulated; it has an ancient history, and legacies have been left by predecessors.

You need not overanalyze every situation. Humans are not so desperate that they must control their citizens.]

Having died once, Michael now analyzed everything more deeply than before.

"Everything comes down to one point: you need to have strength."

Determination burned in his eyes—he would become powerful enough to control his own life.

Exhausted from weeks of fighting in the wilderness, Michael decided to rest before heading out to sell his spoils.

While Michael slept,

In a well-appointed office,

A man in a formal suit spoke with great seriousness.

"Madam, the young master has just returned from the wilderness."

A sigh of relief came from the other end.

"How is he? Is he hurt?" The concern in her voice was evident.

The man played a video showing Michael entering the base.

"Everything appears fine. Tomorrow he will likely come to sell the beast carcasses. I will be able to assess the situation more clearly then."

There was a brief silence.

"Keep me informed."

Then the woman's voice returned:

"Handle this well, Mike. After this, you may receive an opportunity to break through to the Planetary Realm."

When Mike heard this, he could hardly contain his emotion.

"Yes, Madam. There will be no mistakes."

The call disconnected.

Mike watched the video for a few more seconds, then pressed a button.

A woman entered his office.

"President, do you have any orders for me?"

"Tomorrow, if Michael comes here, bring him to me directly."

"Yes, Boss."

The woman left without further questions. She had observed before that whenever Michael came to sell wild beasts, the president personally attended to him.

Early the next morning,

Michael, who hadn't slept peacefully in the wilderness for two months, slept until 8 a.m.

"It feels good to rest properly after so long."

Michael looked out the window.

"Time to sell everything."

He went directly to a large building bearing the sign:

Golden Rise Group.

This was one of the major consortiums on Blue Star, which bought and sold nearly everything.

Rumors said the company belonged to one of the most powerful human warriors from Blue Star, though this had never been officially confirmed.

When Michael entered, a receptionist at the front desk greeted him.

"Hello, sir. How may I help you?"

Michael glanced at the new face, took out his warrior card, and said,

"I'd like to sell some spoils and need to meet the manager."

The girl glanced at the card and recognized him as the person her boss had asked about.

"Of course, sir. Please wait a moment."

Following instructions from the boss's secretary, she knew exactly what to do.

"Sir, please follow me."

Michael noticed the receptionist's subtle reaction but wasn't surprised. Though he had left his family, he was still the son of a powerful warrior—a fact that could not be erased.

He was taken to the top floor of the building, an area typically reserved for Warlord-level warriors conducting business with the group.

As he entered the office, a man was waiting inside.

It was Mike, the same man who had been discussing Michael the night before.

"Hello, Michael. You spent quite a long time in the wilderness this time." Mike stood and shook his hand.

Michael looked at the man he had been dealing with since first arriving on this battlefield.

This man had provided him with invaluable knowledge about the wilderness early in his journey.

"Mr. Mike, it took a little longer this time."

Michael smiled as he spoke.

Meanwhile,

Mike sensed Michael's powerful aura—so refined that he couldn't clearly determine his realm.

It took him a moment to collect himself.

"It seems it was a fruitful adventure," he said with curiosity.

Michael laughed.

"Haha, you could say that."

He took out his space ring, which contained the carcasses of beasts and several bottles of unknown potions.

"Please appraise these. How much can I get for them?"

Mike took the space ring, his curiosity piqued.

He scanned it with his spiritual sense and was surprised to find over 300 carcasses.

But what truly shocked him were the seven late-stage Warlord-level beasts. He had never seen so many Warlord carcasses from this battlefield.

He wasn't sure how Michael had managed to kill so many in just two months. From the wounds, it was clear they had all been slain with a sword.

Mike looked at Michael for a long moment, then said,

"The beast carcasses can be bought at market price, but the potions will need to be examined."

After calculating the value of the various beasts, Mike announced,

"Five billion dollars."

Michael heard the amount—it was in line with his expectations, so he didn't question it.

"Okay. I also need to buy body armor and a sword."

From Michael's tone, Mike inferred that he was likely preparing to return to the wilderness.

"We have a few sets of D-level armor. Anything above that isn't available here. As for the sword, we also have D-level material available."

Michael considered this. His current sword was only C-level and hadn't been channeling his energy properly. His armor had also been damaged in his last battle with the serpent beast.
