Chapter song: A Fated Crossing - ALVED
"I suppose it's now or never," Lucien said as he glanced out the window.
The car pulled up in front of an enormous building, glowing with amber lights, wealth, and promises of greed and conspiracy. Kenneth's stomach curdled knowing they'd have to be inside soon enough.
"I vote never," he whispered, looking back at his Striker warily.
Lucien huffed a breath. He then reached for his hand, pulling him out of the vehicle. With their hands clasped, he turned to look at him, his once sweet face morphing into a mask of stone. The mask he wore to hide himself as he faced the world. His world.
Kenneth mirrored his expression as Lucien whispered, almost too soft to be considered as actual words, "Let's go."
