Things were strange after the gate breach.
For one, Kenneth and his group were treated as brave heroes for going against protocol just to save some humans from being eaten alive. Then there was the issue of their suspension. They wouldn't be allowed on Toleran grounds for fourteen days which meant Kenneth would have to go back home since he didn't have anywhere to go.
The thought of having to see Legolas and pretend to be his son again didn't sit well with Kenneth but he knew getting along with him was imperative to fully immerse and accept his new life.
It has been more than five months since he came to Caüs. It was time for him to finally accept the fact that this was his reality now. There was no going back.
Still, he wished things were different. Especially with Lucien.
